Purpose
Gardner Bender PVC plugs are intended for use with GB thermostatically controlled PVC bender blankets, HotBoxes
TM
or the HotTubesTM. One plug is placed in each end of the conduit during heating and bending operations. Installing the PVC plug creates an air tight chamber within the conduit. When the conduit is heated, air trapped inside expands and helps retain original conduit shape. The heat retained helps eliminate premature cooling experienced when ends are left open.
Installation
1. Place the correct size PVC plug into each end of
the conduit. The rubber seal should be flush with the conduit.
2. Turn the wing nut clockwise to tighten the seal. Hand
tight only. Using tools to tighten the plug could result in conduit distortion and/or damage to the plug.
3. When heating and bending operations are complete,
remove the plugs.
