GARDENA Drill Pump
1. Applications and Media to be Pumped
The GARDENA Drill Pump is designed for private use in the house and garden. This includes draining of small containers, such as aquariums, paddling pools, defective washing machines, as well as pumping fuel oil, and temporary aeration of small garden pools.
A
Acids, easy combustible or explosive
substances like petrol, kerosene, nitro, or food must not be pumped. The temperature of the liquid must not exceed 40°C.
In case of doubt, please contact your GARDENA GARDENA Service Department.
2. Use of Operating Instructions
Translation of the original instructions from German. Read the operating instructions carefully.
A
For safety reasons, people who are not
familiar with the operating instructions must not operate the pump. Children under 16 years must not operate the pump and have to be kept away from plugged-in unit. Persons with reduced physical or mental abilities may use the product only if they are supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
3. Operation and Maintenance
For intermittent or short time use a drill rated 450 Watt minimum is required. For runs of 30 minutes or more a rating of 600 Watt is needed. Fit the drive shaft (8 mm ) to the drill chuck.
A
Make sure that the pump cannot twist,
wobble or tilt.
Connect suction and pressure hoses (using GARDENA hose fittings). The direction of flow is shown by the white arrows on the pump top.
6
Connect suction and pressure hoses (using GARDENA hose fittings). The direction of flow is shown by the white arrows on the pump top.
Check that the drill rotates clockwise, correspond- ing with the direction shown by the arrows on the pump side.
The suction hose should not be more than 3 m (9 ft.) long. Please make certain that it is leak proof when connected. The hose should be of noncollapsing type (hose with woven reinforcement,
e.g. GARDENA Flex Hose or Cord Hose). Place the suction hose inlet into fluid to be pumped.
Prime pump at max. drill speed. The outlet side should be open during priming. Pump output can be regulated by drill speed.
The pump is self-priming. If it does not start
pumping within 12 seconds, switch off at once
and locate the cause (probably a leaking, blocked or collapsed inlet hose). The pump should not operate against a closed outlet side for too long a period.
When liquid no longer flows switch off the electric drill immediately.
After use, or after pumping of fuel oil, clean the pump out thoroughly with clean water.
