Introduction

Congratulations on buying this Gaggia Velasca Prestige full
automatic espresso machine! The machine is suitable for preparing
espresso coee using whole coee beans.

Important safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed, including the following:

1 Read all instructions.
2 Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3 To protect against re, electric shock and injury to persons do

not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

4 Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or

near children.

5 Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow

to cool before putting on or taking o parts, and before cleaning
the appliance.

6 Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or

after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service
facility for examination, repair or adjustment.

7 The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the

appliance manufacturer may result in re, electric shock or

injury to persons.
8 Do not use outdoors.
9 Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot

surfaces.
10 Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a

heated oven.
11 Always attach plug to appliance rst, then plug cord into wall

outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “o”, then remove

plug from wall outlet.
12 Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Caution

This appliance is for household use only. Any servicing, other
than cleaning and user maintenance, should be performed by an
authorized service center. Do not immerse machine in water. To
reduce the risk of re or electric shock, do not disassemble the
machine. There are no parts inside the machine serviceable by the
user. Repair should be done by authorized service personnel only.

1 Check voltage to be sure that the voltage indicated on the

nameplate corresponds with your voltage.
2 Never use warm or hot water to ll the water tank. Use cold

water only.
3 Keep your hands and the cord away from hot parts of the

appliance during operation.
4 Never clean with scrubbing powders or harsh cleaners. Simply

use a soft cloth dampened with water.
5 For optimal taste of your coee, use puried or bottled water.

Periodic descaling is still recommended every 2-3 months.
6 Do not use caramelized or avored coee beans.

Instructions for the power supply cord

- A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is
to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled
in or tripping over a longer cord.

- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are
available and may used if care is exercised in their use.

- If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is
used.

1 The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply

cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance.

2 If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord

should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and

over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over.

Important

Read and follow the safety instructions carefully and only use the
machine as described in this user manual to avoid accidental injury
or damage due to improper use of the machine. Keep this user
manual for future reference.

Warning

- Check if the voltage indicated on the machine corresponds to the
local voltage before you connect the machine

- Connect the machine to a grounded wall outlet.

- Do not let the power supply cord hang over the edge of a table
or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

- Never immerse the machine, power plug or power supply cord in
water (danger of electrical shock).

- Do not pour liquids on the power supply cord connector.

- Never direct the hot water jet towards body parts: danger of
burns.

- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and knobs.

- Remove the power plug from the wall outlet:

- If a malfunction occurs.

- If the machine will not be used for a long time.

- Before cleaning the machine.

- Pull on the power plug, not on the power supply cord. Do not
touch the power plug with wet hands.

- Do not use the machine if the power plug, the power supply cord
or the machine itself is damaged.

- Do not make any modications to the machine or its power
supply cord. Only have repairs carried out by a service center
authorized by Gaggia to avoid a hazard.

- The machine should not be used by children younger than 8
years old.

- This machine can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
machine in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the machine. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are 8
years and above and supervised.

- Keep the appliance and its power supply cord out of reach of
children aged less than 8 years.

- Do not spill water on the power plug.

- Only use the machine as described in the user manual to avoid
potential injury due to misuse.

- Never insert ngers or other objects into the coee grinder.

Caution

- As water is a foodstu, the water in the water tank must be used
up within 1 to 2 days.

- If you are not going to use your coee machine for a prolonged
period (e.g. a holiday), we recommend that you discard any
water left inside the tank. Before you use the coee machine
again, clean the water tank and perform a manual rinsing cycle.

- Do not put any of the detachable parts of the machine in the
dishwasher, except for the milk carafe.

- The machine is for household use only. It is not intended for use
in environments such as canteens, sta kitchen of shops, oces,
farms or other work environments.

- Always put the machine on a at and stable surface.

- Do not place the machine on hot surfaces, directly next to a hot
oven, heater or similar source of heat.

- Only put roasted coee beans into the coee bean hopper. If
ground coee, instant coee, raw coee beans or any other
substance is put in the coee bean hopper, it may damage the
machine.

- Let the machine cool down before inserting or removing any
parts.

- Never use warm or hot water to ll the water tank. Use cold non-
sparkling drinking water.

- Never clean with scrubbing powders or harsh cleaners. Simply
use a soft cloth dampened with water.

- Descale the machine regularly. The machine indicates when
descaling is needed. If you do not clean and descale the
machine, you run the risk that the machine stops working and
that your guarantee becomes invalid.

- Do not keep the machine at temperatures below 32°F. Water left
in the heating system may freeze and cause damage.

- Do not leave water in the tank when the machine is not used
over a long period of time. The water can get contaminated. Use
fresh water every time you use the machine.

Electromagnetic elds (EMF)

This machine complies with all applicable standards and
regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic elds.

The display

Some buttons can be used to navigate through the menus:

- ESPRESSO button = ESC button: you can press this button to
return to the main menu. The ESC button takes you back one
level. You may have to press the ESC button several times to
get back to the main menu.

- AROMA STRENGTH button = OK button: you can press this
button to select, conrm or stop a function.

- CAPPUCCINO button = UP button: press this button to scroll up
through the display menu.

- SPECIAL DRINKS button = DOWN button: press this button to
scroll down through the display menu.

First installation

1 Slide the drip tray with drip tray cover into the machine.
2 Remove the water tank.
3 Fill the water tank to the MAX level with fresh water.
4 Fill the coee bean hopper with coee beans.
5 Insert the small plug into the socket located on the back of the

machine. Insert the power plug into the electrical outlet.
Note: The display reminds you have to insert the hot water

dispensing spout. If not present, press on both sides of the hot
water dispensing spout and insert it into the machine until you
hear a click.

6 Place a container under the hot water and coee dispensing

spouts.

7 Press the STANDBY button.
8 Press the OK button to start the automatic circuit priming cycle.

- The machine performs an automatic rinsing cycle.

9 Remove the water tank from the machine, empty it.
10 Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back into the

machine.

11 Continue with the next step: the manual rinsing cycle.

Manual rinsing cycle

1 Place a container under the coee dispensing spout.
2 Press the AROMA STRENGTH button to select pre-ground

coee. Do not add pre-ground coee.

3 Press the ESPRESSO LUNGO button. The machine starts

dispensing water.

4 When the machine stops dispensing, empty the container.

Repeat steps 1-3 twice.

5 Press the SPECIAL DRINKS button. Place a container under the

hot water dispensing spout.

6 Press the UP/DOWN buttons to scroll through the options of

the display. Press the OK button to select ‘hot water’.

- The display reminds you have to install the hot water
dispensing spout (if not present), press the OK button to
conrm.

7 Press the OK button to start hot water dispensing.

- Dispense water until the display shows the no water icon.

8 Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX level and

remove the container.

The machine is ready for use.

Water lter

The Intenza+ water lter is designed to reduce limescale deposits
in your coee machine and provide ltered water to preserve the
aroma and avor of each cup of coee.

Installing the water lter

1 Remove the small white lter from the water tank and store it in

a dry place.
Note: Please keep the small white lter for future use.You will

need it for the descaling process.

2 Remove the lter from its packaging and immerse it in cold

water with the opening pointing upwards. Press the sides of the
lter gently to let out the air bubbles.

3 Place the lter in the empty water tank. Press it down until it

cannot move any further.

4 Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX indication

and place it the machine.

5 Select the hot water function and dispense hot water until the

water tank is empty (see chapter ‘Using the machine’, section
‘Brewing special drinks').

6 Rell the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX indication

and place it back into the machine.

7 Press the MENU button to enter the menu.
8 Press the DOWN button until the display shows the following

icon.

9 Press the UP button to select 'ON' and press the OK button to

conrm.

10 Press the ESC button.

The lter and machine are now ready for use.

Replacing the water lter

- The display shows the following icon to indicate the water lter
needs to be replaced.

1 Replace the lter as described in section 'Installing the water

lter'.

2 Press the MENU button and press the UP/DOWN button to

scroll trough the options on the menu until the following icon is
displayed.

3 Select the RESET option and press the OK button to conrm.
4 Press the ESC button to exit.

If the lter is already installed and you want to remove it and not
replace it, choose OFF

Measuring the water hardness

To be able to adjust the machine settings to the water in your
region, please measure the water hardness with the water hardness
strip supplied.

1 Immerse the water hardness test strip

(supplied with the machine) in fresh water for 1 second.

2 Remove the water hardness strip and and wait for 1 minute.

3 Check how many squares have changed into the red color and

check the water hardness in below table.

Setting the water hardness

1 To set the water hardness, press the MENU button, select menu

and scroll to select water hardness.

2 Press the OK button and select the water hardness in your area.
3 Press the OK button to conrm.
4 Press the ESC button to return to the main menu.

Using the machine

Brewing coee with beans

1 Adjust the coee dispensing spout to suit the size of your cup.
2 Press the AROMA STRENGTH button to select the desired

coee strength from 1-5 beans.

3 Press the ESPRESSO button to brew an espresso or press the

ESPRESSO LUNGO button to brew a coee.

Brewing coee with pre-ground coee

When you brew coee with pre-ground coee, use the measuring
scoop in the multifunctional tool supplied to put the correct dose in
the pre-ground coee compartment. If you add more pre-ground
coee, the excess coee will end up in the coee grounds drawer.

1 Open the lid of the pre-ground coee compartment.
2 Pour one measuring scoop of pre-ground coee into the

compartment.

Caution: Do not put any other substance than pre-ground
coee in the pre-ground coee compartment, as this may
damage the machine.

3 Place the lid back on the pre-ground coee compartment.
4 Place a cup under the coee dispensing spout.
5 Press the AROMA STRENGTH button to select pre-ground

coee.

6 Press the ESPRESSO button.

- The machine starts brewing coee.

Note: You can only brew one coee beverage at a time with pre­ground coee.

Adjusting the coee quantity

1 Press and hold the ESPRESSO button or ESPRESSO LUNGO

button until the display shows the word MEMO.

2 When the cup contains the desired amount of coee, press the

OK button to save the selected quantity.

Adjusting the grind setting

1 Open the coee bean hopper.
2 Place the end of the measuring spoon handle on the grinder

adjustment knob in the coee bean hopper. Use the spoon to
press and turn the knob to the left or to the right one notch a
time.

3 There are 10 dierent grinding degree settings you can choose

from. The smaller the dot, the stronger the coee.

- Coarse grind: lighter taste, for dark roasted coee blends.

- Fine grind: bolder taste, for light roasted coee blends.

4 Place the coee bean hopper back.
5 Brew 2-3 coees to taste the dierence.

Cappuccino, baby cappuccino and milk froth

Note: You can adjust the cappuccino and milk froth quantity.

1 Remove the hot water dispensing spout.
2 Remove the milk carafe lid. Fill the milk carafe with milk to a

level between the MIN and MAX level and place back the lid.

3 Turn the dispensing spout on the milk carafe to ‘I’.

4 Insert the milk carafe into the machine. Make sure the carafe is

inserted properly.

5 Place a cup under the coee and milk dispensing spouts.
6 Press the CAPPUCCINO button to brew a cappuccino. Press the

MILK FROTH button to brew a milk froth. Press the SPECIAL
DRINKS button.

The machine dispenses the beverage according to the preset
quantities.

Brewing special drinks

In the special drinks menu you can select hot water and baby
cappuccino.

1 Press the SPECIAL DRINKS button to enter the menu. The

display shows the options for special drinks.

2 Press the UP/DOWN buttons to scroll through the options on

the menu.

3 Press the OK button to conrm the desired beverage.
4 When you select HOT WATER, insert the hot water dispensing

spout into the machine and lock it into place. When you select
cappuccino, milk froth or baby cappuccino, insert the milk
carafe into the machine.

Descaling

You have to descale the machine when the display shows the CALC
CLEAN icon.

If you do not descale when the display shows the CALC CLEAN
icon, the machine may stop working properly. In this case, repairs
are not covered by the warranty.

Never drink the water with descaling mixture that you pour into
the water tank or any water with residues that comes out of the
machine during the descaling procedure.

The descaling procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes. Only use
the Gaggia solution to descale the machine. The Gaggia descaling
solution is designed to ensure optimal performance of the machine.

Descaling procedure

You can pause the descaling or rinsing cycle by pressing the ESC
button. The display will show the following icon. To continue the
descaling or rinsing cycle, press the OK button.

1 Remove and empty the drip tray. Slide the drip tray back into

the machine.

2 Remove the water lter from the water tank (if present).
3 Fill the milk carafe with fresh water up to the MIN level. Turn the

dispensing spout of the milk carafe to the ‘I’ position. Insert the
milk carafe into the machine.

4 Press the OK button.

- The display shows the following icon to remind you have to
place the milk carafe in the machine.

5 The display shows the following icon to indicate that the

machine enters the descaling cycle. If you want to exit the
descaling cycle, press the ESC button.

6 Pour the entire bottle of Gaggia descaling solution (250ml) into

the water tank.

7 Add water to the descaling solution in the water tank up to the

CALC CLEAN indication.

8 Place a large container (1.5 l) under the coee and milk

dispensing spouts.

9 Press the OK button to start the descaling cycle.

- The machine dispenses the entire descaling solution at regular
intervals through the coee and milk dispensing spouts (this
takes approximately 25 minutes).

10 Wait until all of the descaling solution has been dispensed.

Remove and empty the container and the milk carafe.

11 Remove and empty the drip tray. Slide the drip tray back into

the machine.

12 Rinse the water tank and ll it with fresh water up to the CALC

CLEAN indication. Slide the water tank back into the machine.

13 Fill the milk carafe with fresh water up to the MIN level and

place it back into the machine. Place the container back under
both spouts.

14 Press the OK button to start the rinsing cycle (this takes

approximately 4 minutes).

- The display shows the following icon to indicate that the rinsing
cycle is nished.

15 Rinse the water tank and place the water lter back into the

water tank (if it was installed).

16 Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX level. Slide

the water tank back into the machine.

17 Press the OK button to end the descaling cycle.
18 Place a container under the coee and milk dispensing spouts.

19 The display shows the following icon to indicate that the

machine is heating up.

- The machine performs an automatic rinsing cycle.

20 Remove and clean the milk carafe see chapter ‘Cleaning and

maintenance’, section ‘Weekly cleaning of the milk carafe’.
Insert the water dispensing spout into the machine.

21 Remove and empty the drip tray. Slide the drip tray back into

the machine.

22 Remove and rinse the brew group see chapter ‘Cleaning and

maintenance’, section ‘Clean the brew group’.

The machine is now ready for use.

Interruption of the descaling cycle

Once the descaling cycle has started, you must complete it till
the very end without turning o the machine. In case you get
stuck during the cycle or in case of power failure or accidental
disconnection of the power cord, you can exit by pressing the
standby button. If this occurs, empty and rinse carefully the water
tank, then ll it up to the CALC CLEAN level. Follow the instructions
in chapter ‘First installation’, section ‘Manual rinsing cycle’ before
brewing any beverage. If the cycle was not completed, the machine
will require another descaling cycle to be performed at your earliest
convenience.

Cleaning and maintenance

Weekly cleaning of the brew group

Clean the brew group once per week.
1 Remove the coee grounds container and open the service

door.

2 Remove the coee residues drawer.

3 To remove the brew group, press the lever and pull the brew

group out of the machine.

4 Rinse the brew group with fresh water and let it air dry.

5 To place the brew group back, make sure that the lever is in

contact with the base of the brewing unit.

Note: If it is not in contact with the base, push it down.

6 Make sure the locking hook of the brew group is in the correct

position. To position the hook correctly, push it upwards until it
is in uppermost position.

7 The hook is not correctly positioned if it is still in bottommost

position.

8 Slide the brew group back into the machine along the guiding

rails on the sides until it clicks into position. Then place the
coee residues drawer back in the machine.

Lubrication

Lubricate the brew group after approximately 500 cups of coee or
once a month.

1 Apply some lubricant around the shaft in the bottom of the

brewing unit.

2 Apply lubricant to the rails on both sides, as shown in the

illustration.

3 Slide the brew group back into the machine along the guiding

rails on the sides until it clicks into position. Then place the
coee residues drawer back in the machine.

Milk carafe quick clean

Between brewing milk varieties you can rinse the spout with hot
water to make sure every milk recipe is optimal.

1 Place a cup or container under the spout to collect the water.
2 Turn the milk dispensing spout to the ‘I’ position.
3 Press the CARAFE QUICK CLEAN button.

- The display reminds you have to insert the milk carafe, press
the OK button to conrm.

Note: Press the ESC button if you want to interrupt the milk
carafe clean.

Daily cleaning of the milk carafe

It is important to clean the milk carafe every day or after you have
used it, as this preserves hygiene and ensures perfect milk froth
consistency.

1 Press the release buttons to remove the lid.

2 Turn the milk dispensing spout up to the reference mark

(indicated by a dot).

3 Lift the milk carafe dispenser to remove it from the lid and wash

it with lukewarm water. Remove all milk residues.

4 Put the milk dispensing spout back onto the milk carafe lid. To

insert it, align the dot on the spout with the indication on the lid.

Weekly cleaning of the milk carafe

1 Press the release buttons to remove the lid.
2 Rinse the lid and the milk carafe with fresh water. Remove all

milk residues.

3 Place the lid back onto the milk carafe and make sure it locks

into place.

4 Remove the top of the lid and ll the milk carafe with fresh

water up to the MAX level.
5 Place the top of the lid back onto the milk carafe.
6 Insert the milk carafe into the machine. Place a container under

the milk dispensing spout.
7 Press the MILK FROTH button to select hot milk.
8 The display shows the icon to indicate that the machine is

dispensing water.
9 When the machine stops dispensing, remove and empty the

milk carafe.

The display will ask you to perform a quick clean cycle, you do

not need to perform this cycle during the weekly cleaning of the

milk carafe.

10 Press the release buttons to remove the lid of the milk carafe.

12 Lift the milk dispensing spout o the lid.

13 Remove the ring from the milk carafe dispensing spout.

15 To remove the cover, press the sides of the dispensing spout

lightly and pull the cover downwards o the dispensing spout.

16 Pull the milk frothing unit upwards.

17 Pull the tting outwards from the milk frothing device.

18 Remove the suction tube.

19 Pull the tting outwards and separate it from the remaining part.
20 Clean all parts with lukewarm water.
21 Reassemble all parts following in reverse order.

Monthly full milk carafe cleaning with milk circuit cleaner

You can purchase a milk circuit cleaner from your local reseller or
from the authorized service centers.

Note: Before you start the procedure, make sure that the water tank
is lled up to the MAX level.

1 Press the MENU button.
2 Scroll through the menu till you see FULL CARAFE CLEAN.

3 Press the OK button.

4 Pour the content of the milk circuit cleaner sachet into the milk

carafe and ll the milk carafe with water up to the maximum

level.
5 Turn the milk dispensing spout to the 'I' position and insert the

milk carafe into the machine.
6 Place a large container under the milk dispensing spout.
7 Press the OK button to conrm.

- The display shows the following icon.

Note: You cannot interrupt the full milk carafe cleaning. If the

full milk carafe cleaning gets interrupted, you have to restart the

cycle again.

8 The display reminds you have to ll the milk carafe with fresh

water, ll the milk carafe up till the max level. Press ok button to

conrm.

- The display shows the following icon.

9 The display shows a tick icon when the carafe rinsing cycle is

nished. press the ESC button to return to the main menu.

Warning icons and error codes

Warning signals are displayed in red. Below you nd a list of the
warnings that may appear on the display and their meaning.

- Fill the water tank with fresh water to the MAX level indication.

- The bean hopper is empty. Put new coee beans in the bean
hopper.

- The brew group is not in the machine. Insert the group.

- Close the service door.

- Remove the coee grounds container and empty it.

- There is too much powder in the brew group. Clean the brew
group.

- You forgot to place the lid on the coee bean hopper. If you do
not place it back within 30 seconds the display will return to the
main menu and the brewing cycle will be stopped.

- If an error code is triggered, check the section ‚Meaning of error
codes‘ to see what the code on the display means and what
you can do. The machine cannot be used when this icon is on
the display.

superautomatica Gaggia Velasca Prestige. La macchina consente di
preparare caè espresso utilizzando il caè in grani.

Avvertenze importanti

Quando utilizzate apparecchiature elettriche, dovete sempre
adottare le misure di sicurezza di base, incluse le seguenti:

1 Leggete tutte le istruzioni.
2 Non toccate le superci calde. Utilizzate impugnature o

manopole.

3 Per evitare il rischio di incendi, scosse elettriche e ferite, non

4 Nel caso in cui l'apparecchio venga utilizzato da bambini o

1 Controllate che la tensione indicata sulla targhetta corrisponda

serbatoio, ma solo acqua fredda.

3 Tenete le mani e il cavo distanti dalle parti bollenti

dell'apparecchio mentre è in funzione.

4 Non pulitelo mai con polvere abrasive o detergenti troppo

aggressivi. Utilizzate semplicemente un panno morbido
inumidito con acqua.

5 Per avere un caè dal gusto eccellente, utilizzate acqua

depurata o in bottiglia. Si consiglia una rimozione periodica del
calcare ogni 2-3 mesi.

6 Non usate caè in grani caramellato o aromatizzato.

Istruzioni sul cavo di alimentazione

- Viene fornito un cavo di alimentazione corto (o facilmente
rimovibile) per ridurre il rischio di rimanere impigliati o di
inciampare in un cavo troppo lungo.

- Sono disponibili anche cavi di alimentazione più lunghi o
prolunghe che devono essere utilizzati con molta attenzione.

- Se si utilizza un cavo di alimentazione rimovibile o una prolunga:

1 Il valore nominale riportato sul cavo di alimentazione rimovibile

o sulla prolunga deve essere almeno pari al valore nominale
dell'apparecchio.

2 Se l'apparecchio è munito di messa a terra, la prolunga deve

essere a tre spinotti con messa a terra, e

3 Il cavo più lungo deve essere disposto in modo che non penda

dal bancone o dal tavolo per evitare che venga tirato da

Avvertenza

Attenzione

- Poiché l'acqua è un elemento utilizzato a scopo alimentare,
l'acqua all'interno del serbatoio deve essere consumata entro 1-2
giorni.

- Se pensate di non utilizzare la macchina per il caè per molto
tempo (ad esempio perché siete in vacanza), vi consigliamo
di gettare via eventuale acqua rimasta nel serbatoio. Prima di
utilizzare di nuovo la macchina per il caè, pulite il serbatoio
dell'acqua ed eseguite un ciclo di risciacquo manuale.

- Non lavate le parti estraibili della macchina in lavastoviglie,
eccetto la caraa.

- La macchina è destinata esclusivamente a uso domestico.
Non deve essere utilizzata in ambienti quali mense, cucine dei
dipendenti all'interno di punti vendita, uci, aziende agricole o
altri ambienti lavorativi.

- Posizionate sempre la macchina su una supercie piana e stabile.

- Non posizionate la macchina su superci calde, vicino a un forno

- Inserite esclusivamente chicchi di caè tostato nel contenitore
del caè in grani. L'inserimento di caè macinato, caè solubile,
caè in grani non tostato o qualsiasi altra sostanza potrebbe

- Eseguite regolarmente la pulizia anticalcare della macchina.
Sarà la macchina stessa a indicare quando è necessaria. Se non
eseguite la pulizia della macchina o non rimuovete il calcare, la
macchina potrebbe smettere di funzionare e la garanzia verrebbe
invalidata.

- Non lasciate la macchina a temperature inferiori a 0°C. L'acqua
lasciata nel sistema di riscaldamento potrebbe congelarsi e
causare danni.

- Non lasciate acqua nel serbatoio quando la macchina non verrà
utilizzata per un lungo periodo di tempo. L'acqua potrebbe
subire contaminazioni. Utilizzate acqua fresca tutte le volte che
usate la macchina.

Campi elettromagnetici (EMF)

Questa macchina è conforme a tutti gli standard e alle norme
applicabili relativi all'esposizione a campi elettromagnetici.

Il display

Alcuni pulsanti possono essere utilizzati per navigare nei menu:

- Pulsante ESPRESSO = Pulsante ESC: premete questo pulsante
per tornare al menu principale. Con il pulsante ESC potete
tornare al livello precedente. Potrebbe essere necessario
premere il pulsante ESC diverse volte per tornare al menu
principale.

- Pulsante AROMA STRENGTH (Intensità aroma) = Pulsante
OK: premete questo pulsante per selezionare, confermare o
interrompere una funzione.

- Pulsante CAPPUCCINO = Pulsante SU: premete questo pulsante
per scorrere verso l'alto il menu del display.

premete questo pulsante per scorrere verso il basso il menu del
display.

Prima installazione

1 Inserite il vassoio antigoccia e il relativo coperchio nella

macchina.

2 Rimuovete il serbatoio dell'acqua.
3 Riempite il serbatoio no al livello MAX con acqua dolce.
4 Riempite di caè in grani l'apposito contenitore.
5 Inserite lo spinotto nella presa situata sulla parte posteriore

della macchina. Inserire la spina nella presa elettrica.
Nota: Il display vi ricorda di inserire l'erogatore di acqua calda.

Se non è inserito, premete entrambi i lati dell'erogatore di
acqua calda e inseritelo nella macchina no a sentire un clic.

6 Posizionate un recipiente sotto gli erogatori di acqua calda e

caè.

7 Premete il pulsante STANDBY.
8 Premete il pulsante OK per avviare il ciclo automatico di

preparazione del circuito.

- La macchina esegue un ciclo di risciacquo automatico.

9 Estraete il serbatoio dell'acqua dalla macchina e svuotatelo.
10 Riempite il serbatoio dell'acqua con acqua del rubinetto e

reinseritelo nella macchina per il caè.

11 Continuate con il passaggio successivo: il ciclo di risciacquo

manuale.

Ciclo di risciacquo manuale

1 Posizionate un recipiente sotto il beccuccio di erogazione del

caè.

2 Premete il pulsante AROMA STRENGTH (Intensità aroma) per

selezionare il caè premacinato. Non aggiungete caè pre­macinato.

3 Premete il pulsante ESPRESSO LUNGO. La macchina inizia a

erogare acqua.

4 Quando la macchina smette di erogare, svuotate il contenitore.

Ripetete i passaggi da 1 a 3 due volte.

5 Premete il pulsante SPECIAL DRINKS (Bevande speciali).

Posizionate un recipiente sotto l'erogatore di acqua calda.

Premete il pulsante OK per selezionare "hot water" (Acqua
calda).

- Il display vi ricorda di inserire l'erogatore di acqua calda, se non
è già inserito; premete il pulsante OK per confermare.

7 Premete il pulsante OK per avviare l'erogazione di acqua calda.

- Erogate acqua no a quando viene visualizzato il simbolo di
mancanza di acqua.

8 Riempite il serbatoio dell'acqua no al livello MAX e rimuovete

il recipiente.

La macchina è pronta all'uso.

Filtro dell'acqua

Il ltro dell'acqua Intenza+ è progettato per ridurre i depositi di
calcare all'interno della macchina da caè e fornire acqua ltrata
per conservare l'aroma e il gusto di ogni tazza di caè.

Installazione del ltro dell'acqua

1 Rimuovete il piccolo ltro bianco dal serbatoio dell'acqua e

riponetelo in un luogo asciutto.
Nota: vi invitiamo a conservare il piccolo ltro bianco per un

futuro utilizzo. Vi servirà per l'operazione di eliminazione del
calcare.

2 Rimuovete il ltro dalla confezione e immergerlo in acqua

fredda con l'apertura rivolta verso l'alto. Premete i lati del ltro
delicatamente per far uscire le bolle d'aria.

3 Posizionate il ltro nel serbatoio dell'acqua vuoto. Premetelo

verso il basso no a che non può muoversi ulteriormente.

4 Riempite il serbatoio con acqua dolce no all'indicazione MAX

e inseritelo nella macchina.

5 Selezionate la funzione di acqua calda ed erogate acqua calda

no a che il serbatoio dell'acqua non è vuoto (vedere il capitolo
"Modalità d'uso della macchina", sezione "Preparazione di
bevande speciali").

6 Riempite nuovamente il serbatoio con acqua dolce no

all'indicazione MAX e reinseritelo nella macchina.

7 Per accedere al menu, premete il pulsante MENU.
8 Tenete premuto il pulsante DOWN nché sul display non viene

visualizzata la seguente icona.

Sostituzione del ltro dell'acqua

1 Sostituite il ltro come descritto nella sezione "Installazione del

ltro dell'acqua".

2 Premete il pulsante MENU e poi il pulsante UP/DOWN per

scorrere le opzioni del menu no a che non viene visualizzata la
seguente icona.

3 Selezionate l'opzione RESET e premete il pulsante OK per

confermare.

4 Premete il pulsante ESC per uscire.

Se il ltro è già installato e desiderate rimuoverlo e non
sostituirlo, scegliete OFF.

Misurazione della durezza dell'acqua

Per poter regolare le impostazioni della macchina secondo l'acqua
della vostra zona, misurate la durezza dell'acqua con il test in
strisce fornito a corredo.

1 Immergete l'apposita striscia (fornita con la macchina) in acqua

del rubinetto per 1 secondo.

2 Rimuovetela dall'acqua e attendete 1 minuto.

3 Contate il numero di quadratini che sono diventati rossi e

confrontate il risultato con la tabella riportata di seguito.

Modalità d'uso della macchina

Preparazione del caè con caè in grani

1 Regolate il beccuccio di erogazione del caè in base alle

dimensioni della tazza.

2 Premete il pulsante AROMA STRENGTH (Intensità aroma) per

selezionare l'intensità del caè desiderata da 1 a 5 chicchi.

3 Premete il pulsante ESPRESSO per preparare un espresso o il

pulsante ESPRESSO LUNGO per preparare un caè.

Preparazione del caè con caè premacinato

Per preparare il caè con caè premacinato, utilizzate il misurino
dell'utensile multifunzione fornito a corredo per inserire la dose
corretta nello scomparto del caè premacinato. In caso di eccessiva
aggiunta di caè premacinato, il caè eccedente andrà a nire nel
cassetto dei fondi di caè.

1 Aprite il coperchio dello scomparto del caè premacinato.
2 Versatevi un misurino di caè premacinato.

Attenzione: nello scomparto del caè premacinato non inserite sostanze
diverse dal caè premacinato in quanto si potrebbe danneggiare la
macchina.

3 Rimettete il coperchio sullo scomparto del caè premacinato.
4 Posizionate una tazza sotto il beccuccio di erogazione del caè.
5 Premete il pulsante AROMA STRENGTH (Intensità aroma) per

selezionare il caè premacinato.

Regolazione della quantità di caè

1 Tenete premuto il pulsante ESPRESSO o ESPRESSO LUNGO

nché il display visualizza la parola MEMO.

2 Quando la tazza contiene la quantità di caè desiderata,

premete il pulsante OK per salvare la quantità selezionata.

Regolazione dell'impostazione di macinatura

1 Aprite il contenitore del caè in grani.
2 Ponete la parte terminale del misurino sulla manopola di

regolazione della macinatura nel contenitore del caè in grani.
Utilizzate il misurino per premere e ruotare la manopola a
sinistra o a destra, una tacca alla volta.

3 È possibile scegliere tra 10 diverse impostazioni di macinatura.

Più piccolo è il puntino, più forte sarà il caè.

- Macinatura grossolana: gusto più leggero, per caè in grani scuri
tostati.

- Macinatura ne: gusto più intenso, per caè in grani
leggermente tostati.

4 Reinserite il contenitore del caè in grani.
5 Preparate 2-3 caè per provare la dierenza.

Cappuccino, cappuccino piccolo e schiuma di latte

Nota: potete regolare la quantità di cappuccino e schiuma di latte.

1 Rimuovete l'erogatore dell'acqua calda.
2 Rimuovere il coperchio della caraa del latte. Riempite la

caraa con una quantità di latte compresa tra il livello di
riempimento minimo e quello massimo, quindi riposizionate il
coperchio.

3 Mettete l'erogatore della caraa del latte sulla posizione "I".

caraa sia inserita correttamente.

Premete il pulsante MILK FROTH per preparare una schiuma di
latte. Premete il pulsante SPECIAL DRINKS (Bevande speciali).

La macchina eroga le bevande in base alle quantità predenite.

Preparazione di bevande speciali

Nel menu delle bevande speciali, è possibile selezionare l'acqua
calda e il cappuccino piccolo.

1 Premete il pulsante SPECIAL DRINKS (Bevande speciali) per

entrare nel menu. Il display mostra le opzioni per le bevande
speciali.

2 Premete i pulsanti SU/GIÙ per scorrere le opzioni del menu.
3 Premete il pulsante OK per confermare la bevanda desiderata.
4 Quando selezionate HOT WATER (Acqua calda), inserite

l'erogatore di acqua calda nella macchina e bloccatelo in
posizione. Quando selezionate cappuccino, schiuma di latte o
cappuccino piccolo, inserite la caraa del latte nella macchina.

Rimozione del calcare

Quando sul display appare l'icona CALC CLEAN, signica che
dovete pulire la macchina dal calcare.

Se non eseguite la pulizia dal calcare quando viene visualizzata
l'icona CALC CLEAN, la macchina potrebbe smettere di funzionare
correttamente. In tal caso le eventuali riparazioni non sono coperte
da garanzia.

Non bevete l'acqua con la miscela anticalcare che versate nel
serbatoio dell'acqua o altri residui di acqua che dovessero
fuoriuscire durante la procedura di rimozione del calcare.

La procedura anticalcare richiede circa 30 minuti. Utilizzate solo
la soluzione Gaggia per rimuovere il calcare dalla macchina. La
soluzione anticalcare Gaggia è stata progettata per garantire
prestazioni ottimali della macchina.

Procedura di rimozione del calcare

Potete mettere in pausa il ciclo di pulizia anticalcare o di
risciacquo premendo il pulsante ESC. Il display mostrerà la
seguente icona. Per continuare il ciclo di pulizia anticalcare o di
risciacquo premete il pulsante OK.

1 Rimuovete e svuotate il vassoio antigoccia. Riposizionate il

vassoio antigoccia nella macchina.

2 Rimuovete il ltro dell'acqua dal serbatoio dell'acqua (se

presente).

3 Riempite la caraa del latte di acqua pulita no all'indicazione

del livello MIN. Mettete l'erogatore della caraa del latte sulla
posizione "I". Inserite la caraa del latte nella macchina.

4 Premete il pulsante OK.

- Il display mostra l'icona seguente per indicare che è necessario
inserire la caraa del latte nella macchina.

5 Il display mostra l'icona seguente per indicare che la macchina

ha avviato il ciclo di pulizia anticalcare. Per interrompere il ciclo,
premere il pulsante ESC.

6 Versate l'intero contenuto della soluzione anticalcare Gaggia

(250 ml) nel serbatoio dell'acqua.

7 Aggiungete l'acqua alla soluzione anticalcare nel serbatoio

dell'acqua no all'indicazione CALC CLEAN.

8 Posizionate un recipiente grande (1,5 l) sotto i beccucci di

erogazione del caè e del latte.

9 Per avviare il ciclo di pulizia anticalcare, premete il pulsante OK.

- La macchina eroga l'intera soluzione anticalcare a intervalli
regolari tramite i beccucci di erogazione del caè e del latte
(questa operazione richiede circa 25 minuti).

10 Attendete il completamento dell'erogazione di tutta soluzione

anticalcare. Rimuovete e svuotate il recipiente e la caraa del
latte.

11 Rimuovete e svuotate il vassoio antigoccia. Riposizionate il

vassoio antigoccia nella macchina.

12 Sciacquate il serbatoio dell'acqua e riempitelo con acqua pulita

no all'indicazione CALC CLEAN. Fate scorrere il serbatoio
dell'acqua nella macchina.

13 Riempite la caraa del latte con acqua fresca no

all'indicazione del livello MIN e reinseritela nella macchina.
Riposizionate il contenitore sotto i beccucci.

14 Premete il pulsante OK per avviare il ciclo di risciacquo (questa

operazione richiede circa 4 minuti).

17 Per terminare il ciclo di pulizia anticalcare, premete il pulsante

OK.

18 Posizionate un recipiente sotto i beccucci di erogazione del

caè e del latte.

19 Il display mostra l'icona seguente per indicare che la macchina

si sta riscaldando.

- La macchina esegue un ciclo di risciacquo automatico.

20 Rimuovete e pulite la caraa del latte; consultate il capitolo

"Pulizia e manutenzione", sezione "Pulizia settimanale della
caraa del latte". Inserite l'erogatore dell'acqua nella macchina.

21 Rimuovete e svuotate il vassoio antigoccia. Riposizionate il

vassoio antigoccia nella macchina.

22 Rimuovete e sciacquate il gruppo infusore; consultate il capitolo

"Pulizia e manutenzione", sezione "Pulizia del gruppo infusore".

La macchina ora è pronta all'uso.

Interruzione del ciclo di pulizia anticalcare

Una volta avviato, il ciclo di rimozione del calcare deve essere
portato a termine senza spegnere la macchina. In caso di blocco
della macchina, interruzione della corrente elettrica o accidentale
disinserimento del cavo durante il ciclo, potete uscire dalla
procedura premendo il pulsante Stand-by. In tal caso, sciacquate
accuratamente il serbatoio dell'acqua e riempitelo no al livello
CALC CLEAN. Prima di preparate qualsiasi bevanda, seguite le
istruzioni nel capitolo "Prima installazione", sezione "Ciclo di
risciacquo manuale". Se il ciclo non è stato portato a termine, la
macchina indicherà di eseguire un altro ciclo di rimozione del
calcare non appena possibile.

Pulizia e manutenzione

Pulizia settimanale del gruppo infusore

Pulite il gruppo infusore una volta a settimana.
1 Rimuovete il recipiente dei fondi di caè e aprite lo sportello di

servizio.

2 Rimuovete il cassetto dei residui di caè.

3 Per rimuovere il gruppo infusore, premete la leva ed estraete il

gruppo infusore dalla macchina.

4 Sciacquate il gruppo infusore sotto l'acqua e lasciatelo

asciugare.

5 Per reinserire il gruppo infusore nella macchina, assicuratevi che

la leva sia a contatto con la base del gruppo infusore.

Nota: se non è a contatto con la base, premetela verso il basso.

6 Assicuratevi che il gancio di bloccaggio del gruppo infusore

sia nella posizione corretta. Per posizionare il gancio
correttamente, spingetelo verso l'alto no alla posizione più alta
raggiungibile.

7 Se il gancio è ancora in posizione inferiore signica che non è

posizionato correttamente.

8 Fate scorrere nuovamente il gruppo infusore nella macchina

tramite le guide sui lati no a che non scatta in posizione.
Quindi, riposizionate il cassetto dei residui di caè nella
macchina.

Lubricazione

Lubricate il gruppo infusore dopo la preparazione all'incirca di 500
tazze di caè o una volta al mese.

1 Applicate del lubricante intorno al perno di inserimento nella

parte inferiore del gruppo infusore.

2 Applicate del lubricante alle guide su entrambi i lati, come

mostrato nell'illustrazione.

3 Fate scorrere nuovamente il gruppo infusore nella macchina

tramite le guide sui lati no a che non scatta in posizione.
Quindi, riposizionate il cassetto dei residui di caè nella
macchina.

Pulizia rapida della caraa del latte

Se utilizzate tipi di latte diversi, potete sciacquare l'erogatore con
acqua calda per garantire risultati ottimali.

1 Posizionate una tazza o un recipiente sotto l'erogatore per

raccogliere l'acqua.

2 Mettete l'erogatore del latte sulla pozione "I".
3 Premete il pulsante CARAFE QUICK CLEAN (Pulizia rapida della

caraa).

- Il display ricorda di inserire la caraa del latte, premete il
pulsante OK per confermare.

Nota: se desiderate interrompere la procedura di pulizia della
caraa, premete il pulsante ESC.

Pulizia quotidiana della caraa del latte

Per garantire igiene adeguata e ottenere una schiuma di latte
ottimale, è importante pulire la caraa del latte ogni giorno o dopo
averla utilizzata.

normale. La macchina utilizza
acqua per sciacquare il circuito
interno e il gruppo infusore. Una
parte dell'acqua uisce attraverso
il sistema interno direttamente nel
vassoio antigoccia.

Svuotate il vassoio antigoccia
quando l'apposito indicatore
scatta attraverso il coperchio del
vassoio.

Posizionate una tazza sotto

l'erogatore per raccogliere l'acqua
di risciacquo.

Svuotate sempre il recipiente

caè viene svuotato a macchina
spenta, il contatore dei cicli di
caè non si azzera. In questo caso
il display visualizza il messaggio
"Empty coee grounds container"
(Svuotare recipiente fondi
caè) anche se il recipiente non è
pieno.

Il recipiente dei fondi di caè è stato

riposizionato troppo rapidamente.

Non riposizionate il recipiente dei
fondi di caè prima che il display
visualizzi il messaggio che vi indica
di farlo

Impossibile rimuovere il
gruppo infusore.

Il gruppo infusore non è posizionato
correttamente.

Chiudete lo sportello di
manutenzione. Spegnete e
riaccendete nuovamente la
macchina. Attendete che il display
visualizzi il messaggio di macchina
pronta, quindi rimuovete il gruppo
infusore

Il recipiente dei fondi di caè non è

stato rimosso.

Rimuovete il recipiente dei fondi di
caè prima di rimuovere il gruppo
infusore

Impossibile inserire il
gruppo infusore.

Il gruppo infusore non è nella
posizione corretta.

Il gruppo infusore non è stato
messo in posizione di riposo
prima di essere riposizionato.
Assicuratevi che la leva sia a
contatto con la base del gruppo
infusore e che il gancio del gruppo
infusore sia nella posizione
corretta.

Reimpostate la macchina

accendendola e spegnendola.
Riposizionate il vassoio antigoccia
e il recipiente dei fondi di
caè. Non inserite il gruppo
infusore. Chiudete lo sportello
di manutenzione e accendete
e spegnete la macchina. Quindi
provate a reinserire il gruppo
infusore.

La macchina è ancora nel ciclo di

pulizia anticalcare.

Quando è attivo il processo di
rimozione del calcare non potete
rimuovere il gruppo infusore.
Attendete che il processo di
rimozione del calcare termini,
quindi rimuovete il gruppo
infusore.

Il condotto di uscita del caè è

bloccato.

Pulite il condotto di uscita del caè
con l'impugnatura dell'utensile
multifunzione o con il manico di un
cucchiaio.

Il caè fuoriesce
lentamente.

La macinatura è troppo ne. Cambiate la miscela di caè o

regolate macinacaè.

Il gruppo infusore è sporco. Pulite il gruppo infusore.

Il condotto di uscita del caè è

bloccato.

Pulite il condotto di uscita del caè
con l'impugnatura dell'utensile
multifunzione o con il manico di un
cucchiaio.

Il circuito della macchina è bloccato

dal calcare.

Eseguite la pulizia anticalcare.

Abbiamo testato i seguenti
tipi di latte ottenendo risultati
soddisfacenti in termini di
schiuma prodotta: latte vaccino
parzialmente scremato o intero,
latte di soia e latte senza lattosio.
Non abbiamo testato altri tipi di
latte che potrebbero produrre
quantità scarse di schiuma.

Sotto la macchina è
presente acqua.

Il vassoio antigoccia è troppo pieno e
ha traboccato.

Svuotate il vassoio antigoccia
quando l'apposito indicatore
scatta attraverso il vassoio.
Svuotate sempre il vassoio
antigoccia prima di avviare la
procedura di rimozione del
calcare.

La macchina non è stata collocata su

una supercie orizzontale.

Posizionate la macchina su una
supercie orizzontale in modo che
l'indicatore di vassoio antigoccia
pieno funzioni correttamente.
