“SOS RECOVERY” Function (availablefor SMART 225/24)
If the SOS Recovery indicator 7 flashes when a battery is connected, this indicates that your battery
is deeply discharged,and sulphation hasstarted.
The «SOS Recovery» function delivers a specific charging curve for between 24 to 48 hours to
regenerate the battery.
To activate this function follow the steps below:
1. The vehiclebattery MUST BE DISCONNECTED (overvoltage danger).
2. Connect chargerto the mains
3. Select chargingvoltage
4. Activate «SOS Recovery» by pressing button4 for 5 seconds until the indicator 7 switches on (the
indicators 6 willflash).
5. Connect thecharger clamps tothe battery.
6. The greenindicator 2 willsignify the endof the charge.

You have not selected the right
battery voltage.
- Disconnect charger from the battery, but
keep the charger connected to the mains.
- Select the right voltage
- Re-connect the charger to the battery
The charge indicator «orange»
does not switch on.
The battery voltage indicator 5
flashes after one minute of charge
The battery is unrecoverable Replace the battery
Your battery has short circuited. Replace the battery.

re-connect the clamps, re-start the charge

The charge time will be abnormally long. If
possible use a more powerful charger

indicated on your battery
Choose the correct capacity as indicated
on your battery.
The battery capacity indicator 6
flashes.
The battery voltage does not rise.
The battery is damaged
Replace the battery
Polarities + and – have been
reversed
Put the red clamps on + and black clamps
on -
The Clamp connection is bad
Wash the terminals and re-connect the
clamps.
The battery is heavily discharged
Use the «forced charge» function (see
procedure on previous page)
When the battery is connected:
The orange indicator for charge 1
does not switch on
The battery voltage indicator 5
and capacity indicator 6 switch on.

Unplug the charger from the power source.
Disconnect the c lamps from the battery.
Replace the fuse.
