polarized three-prong receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use will not

electrician install the proper outlet according to the National Electrical Code and
applicable local codes and ordinances.

How It W ork s
When the unit is started, the fan begins to pull moisture-laden air across the
dehumidifying coils. The coils condense or draw moisture from the air, and air flows
through the side louvers into the room as dry, warm air. M oisture removed from air
is collected in a bucket on the fr
The unit is designed to operate between 41 F (5 C ), and 96 F (35 C ).
If the unit is switched off and needs to be switched on again, wait three minutes
before doing so.

Allow unit to reach room temperature before operating.
To begin operating the dehumidifier, follow these steps:
1. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded 110/120 volt AC outlet. Note the POWER indicator will flash
slowly.
2. To turn the unit on press the ON/OFF button. The digital readout will indicate the room’s relative humidity.
The factory setting is 60%. If the room is below this the unit will not operate. Press the CONT button to
place the unit in continuous dehumidifying mode.
3. Pressing the CONT button, the unit will continuously dehumidify at the unit’s lowest Relative Humidity
(25%). In this mode the c & d buttons will be disabled. The CONT indicator will light in this mode. Use this
feature when first using the unit for three or four days. When the sweating and dampness odor s have
stopped, press the CONT button again and use the HUMIDITY buttons to provide a “dryness” to suit your
comfort.
4. The HUMIDITY c button raises the humidity setting. The maximum setting is 80%.
5. The HUMIDITY d button lowers the humidity setting. The minimum setting is 35%.
6. Press the FAN button to change the fan speed to either HIGH or LOW. The indicator lights will show the
setting you have selected. The High Fan should be selected for faster moisture removal.
7. Pressing the ON/OFF button at any time will shut down the unit, and the power indicator will go out.

REMOVING COLLECTED WATER

1. Emptying the Bucket:
a. When the bucket if full the unit will shut down and the “Water Full” indicator will illuminate.
b. Remove and empty the bucket as shown with the photographs below.
c. When replacing bucket, it must be located correctly for the unit to turn back on automatically.
2. Continuous Drainage:
a. Remove the cap from the rear of the dehumidifier and insert into the
collection tray inside the front of the unit above the bucket. (See photo).
b. Screw the hose attachment supplied into a suitable length garden hose
(not supplied).
c. Press the 8" long plastic tube supplied, firmly onto the back of the hose
adaptor.
d. Locate the opposite end of the plastic tube onto the rear spigot of the
dehumidifier and press firmly into place.
e. Position the open end of the garden hose into a suitable drain. Make
sure the hose is level and has no kinks in it.
CARE & CLEANING
1. Filter
a. Remove the filter every two weeks based on normal operating conditions.
b. To remove the filter first remove the bucket and reach under front to
remove filter as shown.
c. Wash the filter with clean water then dry.
d. Re-install the filter and replace the bucket.
2. Cabinet:
a. Dust cabinet with oil-free cloth, or clean using a damp cloth.
b. Vacuum grill using brush attachment.
3. Water Bucket:
a. Clean bucket using warm water and detergent.

Before calling for service, review this list. It may save you time and expense. This
list includes common occurrences that are not the result of defective workmanship or materials in this appliance.

Plug is disconnected from outlet. Push plug firmly into wall outlet.
House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped. Replace fuse with time delay type or reset circuit
breaker.
The dryness level you selected has been reached. Dehumidifier automatically shuts off when
selected amount of moisture has been removed from the air. If you want to remove more
moisture, turn the Humidistat C ontrol to MAX.DRY. After the dehumidifier starts, reset the
control to the desired setting.
Bucket not installed properly. See “ Removing Collected Water.”
Water in the bucket has reached its preset level. Dehumidifier automatically turns off when this
occurs. Empty bucket and return bucket to position.
Dehumidifier is not turned on. Press C ONT for maximum dryness.

W indows or doors near dehumidifier a re open to outdoors. Close all windows or doors to outside.
Area to be dehumidified is too large. Check with your dealer to see if capacity is adequate.
Air movement through dehumidifier is blocked. Grill may be dirty. Use brush attachment of
vacuum cleaner to clean grill. See “ Care and C leaning. ” Dehumidifier must be placed in a space
that does not restrict air flowing into the rear coil or out of the front grill.
Dehumidifier has been installed or restarted recently. The higher the moistuire in the room, the
longer the dehumidifier will operate.
Dehumidifier is in the C ONT mode and will remain on in this mode. Press the CONT button so the indicator light goes out. Then use the humidity buttons to set a higher level.
