INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

ARCHITECTURAL GRILLE MODEL AG88

These instructions cover the installation of an Architectural Grille, Model AG88, into a WS model solid-side sleeve.
The Architectural Grille must be installed just prior to the installation of the air conditioner chassis.

The contents of the package are:

1. AG88 Architectural Grille

2. Brackets (2 each)

3. Fiber strap

4. Studs, All thread (4 each)

5. Washers (4 each)

6. Nuts (4 each)

7. Gasket

8. Instructions

Tool required for installation: A flat-blade screwdriver or 1/4" hex. nut driver.

on the bracket line up with the holes on the sleeve flange (same holes used to mount the louvered
grille just removed). Mount with two screws provided. Repeat the procedure for the right side with
the second bracket by reversing the bracket. It may be necessary to initially leave the screws loose
to ensure that all hardware will line up with holes. See Figure 1.

WS sleeve should have been installed as specified in the Sleeve Installation Instructions. Remove

the front closure panel, support bracket, louvered metal grille, and back weather panel in the sleeve.
Should the air conditioner chassis be in the sleeve, remove the chassis and the louvered metal grille
using proper procedures.

Position a bracket on the left flange inside the WS sleeve, towards the back, such that the two slots

STEP 3. Install Grille — See Figure 2.

A. If the sleeve is installed in a wall above the ground floor, tie the fiber strap provided to

one end of a vertical rail for safety purposes. Tie the loose end to any stationary object
to prevent accidental dropping of the grille while it is being installed.

B. Screw the 4 all thread studs into the 4 holes in the Architectural Louvered Grille. Pass

grille through rear opening. Locate the grille such that the louvers are pointing to the
outside and down. The mounting holes in the left and right vertical rails must match
up with the open holes in the brackets. Fasten the grille with the washers and nuts
provided.

C. Remove the fiber strap

D. Slide air conditioner chassis into sleeve according to chassis instructions.
