COURT LAYOUT
PLAYING INSTRUCTIONS
GETTING STARTED: To select which players/team will pitch first, each player, or one player from each
team, pitches a bean bag at the target and the player/team that comes closest to the center hole pitches
first. In the event both players/teams pitch their bag into the hole, a tie is declared and both
players/teams re-pitch their bags until a winner can be declared. The player/team that pitches second
can choose which target to start from.
GAME: Every Bean Bag Toss match is broken down into innings of play.
In play, an inning is completed when both contestants pitching from the same target pitch all 3 of their
bean bags.
An inning is never completed until all contestants pitch all 3 bean bags.
Only one player, or team, can score points in an inning.
STARTING THE INNING: The player who scored points in the preceding inning shall pitch first in the
next inning. If neither player/team scored points in the inning, the player/team who pitched first in the
preceding inning shall pitch first in the next inning.
SINGLES OR DOUBLES PLAY: Can be played as doubles or singles. In doubles play, two contestants
are partners against another team of two contestants; in singles play a contestant competes against
another contestant.
In doubles play, one member from each team pitches from one target and the other members pitch from
the other target. In singles play, both contestants pitch from the same target. All other rules are basically
the same for doubles or singles play.
