References marked on instrument or in instruction manual:
Warning of a potential danger, comply with instruction manual.
Caution! Dangerous voltage. Danger of electri- cal shock.
Part protected throughout by DOUBLE INSULATION or REINFORCED INSULATION.
Confirms to European directives.
Measurement Categories, refer to figure 1 (page 2)
CAT I: For measurements performed on circuits not
directly connected to a mains supply.
CAT II: For measurements performed on circuits not
directly connected to the low-voltage instal- lation.
CAT III: For measurements performed in the building
installation.
CAT IV: For measurements performed at the s ource
of the low-voltage installation.
Read First: Safety Information
To avoid possible electric shock or personal in- jury, follow these guidelines:
Read „Safety Information“ before use
Adhere to local and national safety codes. Individual protective equipment must be used to prevent shock and injury.
Use caution when working with voltages above 30 V ac rms, 42 V ac peak, or 60 V dc. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
Check the test leads for continuity. Replace damaged test leads before use.
Ensure that test leads and probes are fully mated to each other and the equipment.
Appropriate Usage
The accessories may only be used under those conditions and for those purposes for which it was conceived. For this reason, safety references, technical data (including environmental conditions), and the usage in dry environments must be followed.
If probes are modified by the user, operational safety is no longer ensured.
Accessories-handle surface, refer to figure 2 (page 2)
Only touch test leads and test probes at handle surface provided. Never directly touch test probe tips or touch test probes beyond the barrier.
Fuse Replacement
The fuse can be checked with a simple continuity test.
Prior to fuse replacement, disconnect the acces- sory (cable or probe) on both side every time.
Exclusively use fuses of voltage and current values in compliance with the technical data section. Using auxiliary fuses, in particular short- circuiting fuse holders is prohibited and can cause probe destruction or serious bodily injury of operator.
Completely unsrew the fuse holder (FH). See figure 3 (page 2)
Remove defect fuse.
Push the fuse into the fuse holder.
Screw in fully the fuse holder to the end stop.
Cleaning
If the probes are dirty after use, cleam them by using a damp cloth and a mild household detergent.
Prior to cleaning, ensure that probes are disconnected from external voltage supply and any other instruments connected (such as UUT, control instruments, etc.).
Technical Data
For use with 4mm shrouded test leads such as FLUKE TL224.
