IMPORTANT! Before first-time use, charge the 4,8V NiMH rechargeable battery pack for 5 hours. Charge the 4,8V NiMH rechargeable battery only with the supplied charger. Do not use any other charger.
• Please read this booklet before first-time use. Keep these instructions for future reference, as they contain important information.
• Requires a 4,8V NiMH rechargeable battery pack (included) for operation.
• Adult assembly is required.
• Tool required to access battery compartment: flathead screwdriver or coin (not included)
• The charging station is not a toy. Do not use extension cords with the charger base.

Adults Note: Adult supervision is required. Periodically examine this product for damage to the cord, housing or other parts that may result in the risk of fire, electric shock or injury. If the product is damaged, do not use it.
• Even with proper care, the rechargeable battery pack will not last forever. The life of the rechargeable battery pack depends on how well you follow these instructions and the total number of hours it is used. If you should need to replace the rechargeable battery pack, contact Fisher-Price®.
• Do not connect to more than the recommended number of power supplies.
• Do not disassemble the sealed 4,8V NiMH rechargeable battery pack.
• Do not charge a battery pack that shows leakage or corrosion.
• Charger specifications: Input 120 VAC, 60 Hz; Output 9.0 VDC, 600 mA.

One-Time Assembly
• Fit the tabs on the base back into the slots in the charger base. Push to “snap” in place.

Battery Pack Installation
• Using a slotted screwdriver or coin, turn the battery compartment fastener on the side of the iXLTM Handheld Device (sold separately) to unlock
Slide the battery compartment door to remove it.
• Remove the batteries from the battery compartment.

• Pull up on the gray tab.
• While pulling up on the tab, lift the battery tray.

Battery Pack Installation
• Fit the tabs on the rechargeable battery pack into the slots in the battery compartment.
• Push to “snap” in place.
• Fit the tabs on the underside of the battery compartment door into the grooved tabs on the handheld. Slide the battery compartment door to close.
• Using a slotted screwdriver or coin, turn the fastener to lock .

Battery Tray Storage
Note: You can store the battery tray in the bottom of the charging base for future use.
IMPORTANT! Remove the “AA” batteries from the battery tray.
• Fit the long tab on the battery tray into the slot on the bottom of the charging base. Push to secure the battery tray in the charging station.

Charging Your Battery
IMPORTANT! The rechargeable battery pack must be installed in the iXLTM Handheld Device to charge it. Before fi rst-time use, charge the 4,8V NiMH rechargeable battery pack for 5 hours.
• Plug the charging station into a standard wall outlet.
Notes: If power fl ow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is “ON”. Plug the charging station only in a wall outlet. Do not plug the charging station into a ceiling outlet. To connect to a supply that is not in the United States, use an adapter (not included and sold separately) with the proper confi guration for the power outlet.

Charging the Battery Pack
L.E.D.
• Place the iXLTM Handheld Device into the charging base. The L.E.D. will flash and then turn red.
• Charge the iXLTM Handheld Device for five hours. The L.E.D. will turn green when the battery pack is fully charged.
• Remove the iXLTM Handheld Device from the charging station. Unplug the charging station from the wall outlet.
• When you see the low battery indicator on the iXLTM Handheld Device screen, it’s time for an adult to charge the battery pack.

Battery Safety Information
In exceptional circumstances, a battery pack may leak fl uids that can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin your product. To avoid battery leakage:
• Insert the battery pack as indicated inside the battery compartment.
• Remove the battery pack during long periods of non-use. Always remove an exhausted battery pack from the product. Dispose of the battery pack safely. Do not dispose of this product in a fire. The battery pack inside may explode or leak.
• Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type, as recommended.
• Use only the Fisher-Price
®
battery pack that came with this product.

Troubleshooting and Care
Problem Solution
Charging station begins to operate erratically
L.E.D. turns green before battery is fully charged

• Wipe this product with a clean cloth dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Do not use bleach. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse in water. Immersing this product can result in electric shock.
• This product has no consumer serviceable parts. Do not take this product apart.
Protect the environment by not disposing of this product with
household waste (2002/96/EC). Check your local authority for recycling advice and facilities.
The charging station may need to be reset. Unplug it from the wall outlet. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back in
