their driving style to achieve an efficient driving style in
terms of fuel economy and emissions reduction.
Monitoring appears on the display in real time; it is
however possible to access detailed overall information
by consulting the eco:Drive site (see Data transfer).
The assessment of driving style is indicated by four
indices which are assessed as optimal when the ecodriving style criteria below are complied with:
Acceleration/Deceleration
6
Page 46
46 MORE MAIN MENU
Avoidabruptacceleration/deceleration,favouring
gradual increases/decreases in speed.
Gearbox
Use the gear most suited to the road conditions, to
optimize fuel consumption (on vehicles with automatic
transmissions, using “Auto” mode, this parameter is not
displayed).
Speed
Adopt a driving style which maintains, above all on
traffic-free roads, the most appropriate constant driving
speed, anticipating any deceleration due to uneven road
surfaces or traffic conditions.
NOTE:
• The values measured are not directly connected to
instant fuel consumption but are intended to suggest
how the driver can alter their driving style to reduce
consumption.
• Different journeys may have different values even
though the driver maintains the same driving style,
since they are affected by factors such as traffic conditions, length of journey and cold starting.
• An eco:Drive is a more fluid drive, even if traffic
conditions often inhibit this. A more aggressive drive,
on the other hand, implies frequent acceleration/
deceleration with resulting increased fuel consumption and harmful emissions.
Activation
1. Press the eco:Drive button to interact with the func-
tion.
Page 47
2. To activate the function press the eco:Drive ON button.
3. A screen will be displayed showing the four indices
previously described.
These indexes are grey until the system has sufficient
data to evaluate the driving style or in the event of long
stops.
Once sufficient data are available, the indexes will have
four colors depending on the evaluation: green (very
good), yellow, orange and red (very bad).
With reference to the Current index refers to the overall
average value of the indices described calculated in real
time, indicating the eco-sustainability of the driving style,
from 0 (low) to 100 (high).

Data Transfer
The trip data is saved in the system’s memory. By
correctly configuring a USB drive and going to the

personal profile and the overall analysis of the trip data
and driving style can be consulted.
Do not remove the USB stick until the system has
downloaded the data since they might be lost completely
or partially.

Trip Computer
Press the Trip button to display the trip information of
the car.
This function allows you to display the consumption
levels and define two separate trips called Trip A and Trip
B for monitoring the car’s complete journey in a reciprocally independent manner.
• Warning messages will be displayed when the USB
storage device is full.
• When the eco:Drive data is not transferred to USB
storage device for a long time, the internal memory of
the Uconnect® system may be exhausted.
• Warning messages will also be displayed in case of
eco:Drive internal memory full: To not lose saved data,
it will be required to connect the USB storage device

Using Arrival Times
You can set your navigation system to ask you if you
need to arrive at a particular time when you plan a route.
Push the “Status bar” button in the
Settings menu, to enable or disable
arrival time notifications.
Select how the status bar should be
displayed, then press next.
To enable arrival time notifications,
select “Leeway,” then press “Done.”
After entering a destination, press the “YES” button
when asked about an arrival time to enter a preferred
arrival time.
The navigation system calculates your arrival time and
shows you whether you will arrive on time.
You can also use this information to work out when you
need to leave. If route planning shows that you will
arrive 30 minutes early, you can wait and leave in 30
minutes time, rather than arrive early.
Your arrival time is constantly recalculated during your
journey. The status bar shows whether you will arrive on
time or if you are going to be late, as shown below:

You will arrive 55 minutes before the arrival time you entered.
If the estimated arrival time is more than five minutes before the time you entered, it is
shown in green.
You will arrive 3 minutes before the arrival time you entered.

Planning A Route In Advance
You can use your navigation system to plan a route in
advance, selecting your starting point and your destination.
Here are more reasons to plan a route in advance:
• Find out how long a journey is going to take before
you start.
• You can also compare journey times for the same route
at different times of the day or on different days of the
week. Navigation uses IQ Routes when planning a
route. IQ Routes calculates routes based on the real
average speeds measured on roads.
• Study the route of a journey you are planning.
• Check a route for someone who is coming to visit you
and then explain the route to them in detail.
To plan a route in advance, follow these steps:
1. Press the touchscreen to bring up the Main menu.

2. Press the “Plan route” button.

4. Set the destination for your journey.
5. If Route planning settings are set to “Ask me every

• Fastest route — Route which takes the least time.
• Eco route — Most fuel-efficient route for your jour-
ney.
• Shortest route — Shortest distance between the
locations you set. This may not be the quickest route,
especially if the shortest route is through a town or
city.
• Avoid motorways — Route which avoids motor-
ways.
6. Choose the date and time that you will make the
journey you are planning.
Navigation uses IQ Routes to work out the best
possible route at that time. This is useful to see how
long a journey takes at different times of the day or on
different days of the week.

NOTE: For the best recognition of what you say, speak
normally without trying to articulate words in an unnatural way. If there is excessive road noise, for example,
you may need to speak in the direction of the microphone.
3. If the command is correct, say “Yes.”
If the command is incorrect, say “No” and repeat the
