Function and application
The two-hand control unit ZSB-1/8 is a
pneumatic AND module. The inputs P
1
and P2 must both be pressurized one
after the other within max. 0.5 sec., in
order that a pressure impulse can be
triggered at output A. This is accomplished with tw o external 3/2-w ay finger
lever valves. Pressure remains applied
when both finger lever valves are ac-tuated. If one or both finger lever valves
are no t actuated, the outpu t pressure at
A will be interrupted immediately and
the machine/system which is connected
will be exhausted via port R.
The pneumatic two-hand control unit is
designed to ensure that the operator
has both hands outside the working
range of the actuated machine and to
avoid unintentional actuation when
pneumati c proc esses a re sta rted.

Funktion und Anwendung
Der Zweihand-Steuerblock ZSB-1/8 ist
ein pneumatisches UND-Glied. Die Eingänge P
max. 0,5 sec. nacheinander belüftet
werden, um an Ausgang A einen
Druckimpuls auszulösen. Dies geschieht
durch zwei externe 3/2-Wege-Tasterventile. Der Dr uck steht an, solange beide Tasterventile betätigt werden. Das
Loslassen e ines oder beider Ta sterventile bew irkt ei ne sofo rtige Un terbrechun g
des Ausgangsdrucks an A und die Entlüftung der angeschlossenen Maschine/Anlage über den Anschluß R.
Der pneumatischen Zweihand-Steuerblock wird bestimmungsgemäß eingesetzt, um sicherzustellen, daß sich beide Hände des Bedienpersonals außerhalb der Arbeitszone der betätigten Maschine befinden oder zur Vermeidung
einer unbeabsichtigten Betätigung beim

These general conditions for the co rrect
and safe use of the product must be observed at all ti mes.
•
Compare the specified limit values
with your actual application.
The permitted limit values, e.g. for
pressures and moments must not be
exceeded.
•
Ensure that there is a supply of correctly pr epared lubr icated compressed air by means of a downstream fi tted pr essure s equence
valve of type VD-3-PK-3.
For preparing compressed air, use a
service unit of type FRC-... with a filter fineness of min. 40 µm.
Only then will the ZSB- 1/8 fulfill the
requirements of a safety component
types I and III A as per prEN 574.

Zur Druckluftaufbereitung dient eine
Wartungseinheit vom Typ FRC-... mit
einer Filterfe inheit von min. 40 µm.

Remove all packaging such as protective wax, foils and caps (except
the sealing elements of the pneumatic connections).

of distorti on.
•
Place the ZSB-1/8 so tha t the fi lter

is not covered .
Two M5 x 60 screws are required for
fastening.
•
Use 3/2-w ay fi nge r lev er valve s.
•
Ensure that the s afety requirements
for fitting the finger lever valves as
per prEN 574 or prEN 954 are fulfilled (e.g. by mean s of protectiv e
screens on the finger lever valves).
It must not be possible to actuate the
buttons with only one hand (or with
an elbow, knee or foot).

Operation
Checking the functi onin g of the de vice:

Make sure that the ZSB -1/8 is
checked every month with a pressure of 2 bar.
The ZSB-1/8 must not switch at this
pressure. Otherwise there is a conside rabl e dang er o f i nju ry .
If the medium temperature is less than
1 oC,
•
use dry compressed air.
In this way you will reduce the
amount o f ice for med.
Dismantling and repairs
If necessary:
•
use only our repair service fo r
having your Z SB-1/8 overhau led.
Before dismantling the ZSB-...,
•
exhaust the complete system as well
as the unit.
