Handheld IR Remote Control for System 5 IP and MLC 226 IP

The Extron IR 402 provides infrared remote control of the System 5 IP system switcher,
MLC 226 IP MediaLink™ Controller, and the SCP 226 Secondary Control Panel. The buttons
of the IR 402 duplicate the front panel controls of all the compatible products, as well as the
IRCM-VCR, IRCM-DVD, and IRCM-DV+ control modules, for normal operation.

Handheld IR Remote Control for the MLC 52

When combined with the DVCM 50, the IR 452 is able to control basic functions of a VCR and

Wall-Mountable IR Signal Repeater

The Extron IR Link is a single-gang, wall-mountable IR signal repeater that can be used with any
Extron IR compatible product with 38 kHz carrier frequency. It receives signals from an Extron
remote control, such as the IR 402, and passes them to an IR receiving device, such as the
MLC 226 IP MediaLink™ Controller or System 5 IP Switcher. It is available in black, white, and
RAL9010 white. The IR Link ships with one IR Emitter. Mud ring, junction box, and 12 V power
supply are sold separately. A power supply is not needed if used with the compatible MediaLink
Controllers, MediaLink Switchers, or System 5 IP.

IRL 20

IR Signal Repea ter

The Extron IRL 20 is a compact IR signal repeater that can be used with any Extron product
using IR signals with 38 kHz carrier frequency. It receives signals from an Extron handheld
IR remote control, such as the IR 402, and passes them to an IR receiving device, such as the
MLC 104 IP Plus, MLC 226 IP, or System 5 IP. Housed in a sturdy and compact plastic enclosure,
the IRL 20 can be placed conveniently out of sight for discreet architectural integration. The
IR Emitter and 12 V power supply are sold separately. A power supply is not needed if used with
a MediaLink™ Controller, MediaLink Switcher, or System 5 IP Switcher.

IR Emitter and Shield Kits

IR Emitter Kits

The Extron IR Emitter and Shield Kits are optional accessories designed for use with any
Extron product that requires an IR emitter for remote control. The kit is designed to be installed
directly on the IR control window of the controlled equipment. The kit contains a blinking
IR emitter, an IR emitter shield, and mounting adhesive.

The included IR emitter consists of a tiny infrared light-emitting diode housed in a miniature,

injection molded shell with a 10-foot (3 m) wire lead. The small, almost black shell offers
improved infrared pass-through and the most unobtrusive installation possible.

The dual kit features a "Y" configuration with one IR source terminating in two emitters
with shields for use in equipment racks and other applications requiring remote control of
two devices.

AC Net AAP

AC Outlet and RJ-11/RJ-45 AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate

The Extron AC Net AAP is a double- or triple-space AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate for use
in AAP mounting frames. It provides an unswitched AC outlet and a configurable connection
point for phone or network connection. RJ-11 and RJ-45 jacks are supplied. The US model is
a double-space AAP and the International models are triple-space AAPs. There are eight world
power connector options from which to choose. The AC Net AAP is available in black or white.

Volume Control Module

The Extron MLA-VC10 is a volume control module designed to accept RS-232 commands and
control amplifiers and mixers that support 10-volt maximum hardwired remote capabilities. It
can be used with MLC 104 IP Plus, MLC 206, and MLC 226 IP MediaLink™ Controllers or any
third party RS-232 control system. The power supply for the MLA-VC10, part # 70-055-01,
is sold separately. A power supply is not needed if used with the MLC 206 and MLC 226 IP
MediaLink Controllers.

MLC IR/RS-232

One Projector Communication Cable - Plenum

Extron MLC IR/RS-232 cable assemblies are used to send IR or RS-232 commands to a
projector from an MLC - MediaLink™ Controller. MLC IR/RS-232 interconnect cables are
unterminated, dual 22 AWG shielded twisted pairs with a drain wire for a captive screw
connector to a 9-pin D Female for RS-232 control, and a 22 AWG pigtail for use with an
IR Emitter. These time-saving and cost-effective cable assemblies are available in pre-cut
lengths of 6' (1.8 m), 15' (4.5 m), 35' (10.6 m), and 50' (15.2 m).

Extron MLC PW/RS-232/VC cable assemblie s are u sed to provide RS-23 2 MediaLin k
Switcher control or Mini Power Amp volume control from an MediaLink Controller. Extron
MLC PW/RS-232/VC cable assemblies are ideal for connecting control system components
due to the low capacitance rating of the 22 AWG shielded twisted pair utilized for critical control
communication, and two 18 AWG conductors for sending remote power to an MediaLink™
Controller. MLC PW/RS-232/VC interconnect cables are unterminated and feature two color­coded 18 AWG, double-shielded conductors, two 22 AWG low capacitance shielded twisted pair
cables, and a drain wire, all enclosed in a single jacket These time-saving and cost-effective
cable assemblies are available in pre-cut lengths of 6’ (1.8 m), 15’ (4.5 m), 35’ (10.6 m), and
50’ (15.2 m).

Universal Projector Control Cables

Female 9-pin D Connector to Unterminated - Captive Screw Ready

Extron UC Cables are designed for universal projector control communications between the
System 5 IP or System 7SC system switchers, as well as many MediaLink™ Controllers, and
most RS-232 controllable displays. The display end of the cable is terminated with a female
9-pin D connector. The other end is not terminated, so it is ready for captive screw connection
to the System 7SC or MediaLink Controller's projector control port. The UC Cable is available in
50' (15 m) and 100' (30 m) lengths.

The Extron MLC 206 button labels are designed exclusively for the MLC 206 MediaLink™
Controller. The labels include text and icons of commonly used devices and functions, such
as laptops, VCRs, and room lighting, for quick and easy set-up and operation of the control
panel. All three label sheets ship with the MLC 206 and MLC 206 AAP. Additional labels are
available at no charge.

The MLC 206 Power/Audio Label is for use with the MLC 206 MediaLink™ Controller.
Available in black or white, the icon-based label will easily adhere over the Display Power
button and Volume Control knob, located to the left of the controller's input buttons. Designed
to simplify set-up and operation, the MLC 206 Power/Audio label ships with the MLC 206 and
MLC 206 AAP. Additional labels are available at no charge.

The Extron MediaLink™ International Faceplate Labels are designed for use with the Extron
MLC 226 IP, MLC 104, MLC 104 IP, and MLC 104 IP Plus MediaLink Controllers, as well as the
Extron SCP 226 and SCP 104 Secondary Control Panels. These labels for "Projector," "Plasma,"
and "Volume" are translated into French, Spanish, Italian, German, simplified Chinese, traditional
Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. They can be affixed over the silk screen above the Projector
On/Off buttons and Volume adjustment knob for easy and clear identification. MediaLink
International Faceplate Labels are available separately, at no charge.

The Extron Backlit Button Labels are designed for use with many Extron products that feature

0.59" backlit buttons, such as the IP Intercom® 100 and 200 Series, System 5 IP, USP 405,
CM-3 BLB, CM-9BL B, and select MediaLink™ and matrix switcher models. These labels
encompass text and icons of commonly used devices and functions, such as laptops, VCRs, and
room lighting, for quick and easy operation of the switcher or control panel. International button
labels in French, Spanish, Italian, German, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, Korean,
and Japanese are also available. Text and icon button label sheets ship with the following
products: System 5 IP, MLC 226 IP, MLC 104 IP Plus, SCP 226, SCP 104, CM-3BLB, and
CM-9BLB. International button labels, as well as additional text and icon labels, are available
at no charge.
