Your Racing Pro is easy to use but be sure to use it safely. Before starting, please read this manual thor­oughly, especially noting safety, care and battery infor­mation. Keep this manual for reference.

Your Racing Pro requires two AAA batteries, not included. To install the bat­teries, carefully turn Racing Pro over so that the unit is face-down on a soft surface. Find the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Use a small screwdriver to remove
screw and lift off the bat­tery compartment lid. Install the batteries, mak­ing sure to match polarity (+ and -). Place the tabs of the battery compartment lid in its slot and close the compartment door and replace screw.

ON/OFF: Press to turn the
unit
ON and OFF. The follow-
ing splash screen will appear, when you turn the unit on after it has been turned off with the
ON/OFF button:
Press any key to continue where you left off.
HOME: Press to return to the HOME menu screen.
ABC: Press this key to
scroll through a list quickly, jumping from one alphabeti­cal letter to the next. The
ABC
function will work only on long lists. The direction of the
ABC button will corre-
spond to the last direction button move used (
DOWN).
SPEAKER: Press to turn the
sound
ON or OFF.
s UP or
LAP/RESET: This button is
used in
STOP WATCH mode
only, press to time a lap when the timer is running. Also press to
RESET the stop watch
when timer is not running.

WATCH START or STOP the timer.

Using Your Racing Pro
After you insert two AAA batteries into the unit, a voice will welcome you to the Racing Pro with a “
MEN, START YOUR ENGINES
message.
NOTE: If you do not hear the voice, please use a thin, pointed object to press the
RESET button that is located
on the back of the unit.
A copyright screen will be displayed for a short time, then the splash screen above will flash. This will be fol­lowed by the screen display. (A appears in the upper right hand corner of the display when you are on the menu screen.) You can return to this menu at any time by pressing the
HOME button.
All the screens are dis­played five lines at a time, and up to 15 characters can be shown on each line. (Go to
Small Text information in
the the Setup section on page 16

to see how you can view 10 characters on a line.) If the line contains more than 15 characters, you can indicate the line by moving to it with your cursor. This will cause the text to scroll from right to left and in addition, show all the text on the line.

Scroll through the list using the
s UP and t DOWN but­tons. As you scroll, the line you are on will be highlight­ed to indicate your position in the list. A at the right side of a line means that the
ENTER button may be
used to view more informa­tion. After scrolling to the
desired item, simply press
ENTER button to confirm
your choice.
Stop Watch:
Selecting STOP WATCH from the HOME menu. It will display the following screen:

button will record the lap as follows:
If the “
LAP” function is
on, the first line displays the lap number and time for that lap. The second line displays the accumulated time since the timer has started. If a track or track length has been entered, the third line will display the speed for the last timed lap. The fourth line will then display the lap number and time of the last timed lap.
If the “
LAP” function is
off, the first line displays the car number entered from the PREFERENCES menu and time for that lap. If a track or track length has been entered, the third line will display the speed for the last timed lap. The fourth line displays the

lap number and time of the last timed lap.
Pressing the
button stops the timer.
Pressing the button when timer is stopped resets the
STOP WATCH.

Driver Bios:
Selecting DRIVER BIOS will display a list of drivers. You may scroll through the list using the keys. You may also use the
ABC key to scroll through the
list quickly, jumping from one alphabetical letter to the next. The direction the key also will correspond to the last direction key used (

Special Care and Handling
• Avoid rough handling such as bumping or dropping.
• Avoid moisture and extreme temperatures. For best results, use between the temperatures of 39º F and 100º F (4º C and 38º C).
• Clean using only a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaners with chemical agents.
Battery Information
• Batteries should be installed and replaced only by an adult.
Racing Pro uses 2 AAA batteries, not included.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not use rechargeable batteries.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the unit.
• Do not short circuit battery terminals.
• Remove batteries and store them in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• To avoid explosion or leakage, do not dispose of batteries in a fire or attempt to recharge alkaline or other non-rechargeable batteries.
• Install batteries so that the polarity (+ and -) matches the diagrams in the battery compartment.
• Use only batteries of the same type and equivalency.
Excalibur Electronics reserves the right to make technical changes
without notice in the interest of progress.
LIMITED 90-DAY WARRANTY
EXCALIBUR ELECTRONICS, INC., warrants to the original consumer that its products are free from any electrical or mechanical defects for a period of 90 DAYS from the date of purchase. If any such defect is discovered within the warranty period, EXCALIBUR ELEC­TRONICS, INC., will repair or replace the unit free of charge upon receipt of the unit, shipped postage prepaid and insured to the factory address shown at right.
The warranty covers normal consumer use and does not cover damage that occurs in shipment or failure that results from alterations, accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, wear and tear, inade­quate maintenance, commercial use, or unreasonable use of the unit. Removal of the top panel voids all warranties. This warranty does not cover cost of repairs made or attempted outside of the factory.
Any applicable implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness, are hereby limited to 90 DAYS from the date of purchase. Consequential or incidental damages resulting from a breach of any applicable express or implied war­ranties are hereby exclud­ed. Some states do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties and do not allow exclusion of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions in these instances may not apply. The only authorized service center in the United States is:

Ship the unit carefully packed, prefer­ably in the original carton, and send it prepaid, and adequately insured. Include a letter, detailing the complaint and including your daytime telephone num­ber, inside the shipping carton. If your warranty has expired and you want an estimated fee for service, write to the above address, specifying the model and the problem.
