Installation Instructions

The Source Four XT HID Zoom external media holder is used to attach up to two dichroic lenses and multiple sheet filter
media (gel). This allows you to add temporary media to the fixture for seasonal or special occasions.

Installation

The External Media Holder consists of the following.

● Front ring with four stainless hex screws

● Two solid spacers

● Split gel frame ring

The External Media Holder can remain on the fixture without media. One solid spacer may be removed to allow an
additional dichroic lens or a clear glass lens to be installed. Acceptable lens sizes are 7-7/16 to 7-3/4 inches (188 to
198mm) diameter.

To install the External Media Holder with sheet filter media:

Step 1: Using the ring as a template, cut the sheet filter media (gel) 7-7/16 to 7-3/4 inches (188 to 198mm) to fit the split

gel frame ring. Then insert the media into the split gel frame ring.

Step 2: Lay the front ring face down.

Step 3: Optional: Insert a clear tempered glass lens (by others) into the front ring.

Step 4: Insert a spacer, the assembled gel frame ring, and the other spacer. Refer to the illustration on the next page.

Step 5: While holding the media holder assembly together, align the four holes on the holder with the holes on the front

of the fixture with the front ring facing away from the fixture.

Step 6: Attach the media holder with the provided four hex screws.

External Media Holder With Sheet Filter Media

To install the external media holder with dichroic lens:

Step 1: Lay the front ring face down.
Step 2: Optional: Insert a clear tempered glass lens (by others) in the front ring to protect the dichroic lens.
Step 3: Insert a spacer.
Step 4: Insert the dichroic lens.
Step 5: Insert a spacer and gel frame ring in any order. If using a clear glass lens with the dichroic lens, use only one

spacer and place it between the two lenses.

Step 6: While holding the media holder assembly together, align the four holes on the holder with the holes on the front

of the fixture with the front ring facing away from the fixture.

Step 7: Attach the media holder with the four provided hex screws.
