Emergency Bypass Detection Kit

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Emergency Bypass Detection Kit (EBDK) monitors a single-phase
or three-phase normal power feed and a fire alarm contact. When
the EBDK detects a fire alarm signal or a loss of normal power, it
generates a maintained contact closure to trigger the UL 924 Listed
Emergency Lighting Bypass Operation in connected ETC lighting
control products.

EMERGENCY BYPASS RESTORE SWITCH
• Easy-to-identify station labeled “Lighting System Restore”
• Prevents the system from returning to normal lighting while
egress is occurring
• Single-button operation with red backlit switch
• Switch is illuminated during emergency lighting
bypass operation
• Simple wiring using two #16 AWG wires
• Up to two restore switches may be connected to a
single EBDK
TAP KITS
• Designed for use in Unison DRd, Sensor, and Sensor IQ
enclosures
• Includes wire leads and fuse block for overcurrent protection
• Eliminates the need for an external circuit breaker

SPECIFICATIONS
FUNCTIONAL
• Compatible with single-phase or three-phase lighting systems
from 100 V to 277 V
• Provides dry contact closure output to UL 924 ETC lighting
control products for emergency lighting applications
• Automatic sensing of normal power loss and fire alarm
contact
• Automatically returns to normal lighting operation when
normal power is restored or fire alarm contact is no longer
triggered
• Supports the Emergency Bypass Detection Kit Restore Switch
requiring manual return to normal lighting
MECHANICAL
• Enclosure and cover are constructed of 16 gauge (0.08) steel
and are finished in a fine-textured, scratch resistant epoxy
paint
• Designed for wall-mount applications
• Removable cover
• Internal voltage barrier provides separate wiring
compartments between power and control wiring
• Hinged locking door covers integrated breaker to prevent
accidental tripping
ELECTRICAL
• Supports input voltage from 100 V up to 277 V
• Phase loss detection circuitry provides a factory-set delay of
0.5 seconds to prevent nuisance tripping
• Integrated circuit breaker for overcurrent protection and
simulation of power loss
• Isolated outputs for connection to multiple ETC products
including power enclosures and DMX Emergency Bypass
Controllers
• Up to 8 devices may be connected to each output
• All wiring terminations are made using provided terminals
• Input and output terminals accept #8 AWG to
#22 AWG wiring
• Simple wiring for single-phase or three-phase systems
• Normally-closed input for fire alarm systems provided
