OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The electric frying pan is designed for fast cooking by frying, stewing and baking in which the nutritious quality of the food is preserved. The pan bottom is designed to include directly the pan heating element and the temperature control is integrated in the cord plug. The temperature control mode is indicated by a pilot lamp. The pan inner surface is lined with TEFLON. The electric pan glass top is shaped so that it can be used as either the pan lid or a tray for the cooked food.
I. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Before using the appliance for the first time, read carefully these Operating Instructions, study the diagrams and keep the Instructions for future reference.
- Make sure that the rated voltage as indicated on the appliance nameplate is the same as your mains voltage.
- Make every possible precaution so that the fryer cannot be operated by children or incompetent persons.
- The product is intended for home use only.
- Never leave the pan unattended while it is plugged in the mains!
- The pan must never be heated by another source of heat such as in a baking oven, on a hob etc.
- The pan is a portable appliance featuring a cord fitted with a plug designed to secure that both electric poles can be disconnected. Always disconnect the pan from the mains when it is not in use.
- Never wash the appliance with the temperature control plugged in it.
- Whenever handling either the pan itself or its lid, use the handle only as other parts can be very hot!
- The temperature control fitted can be used only for ETA 1160 and 0160 frying pans. This appliance must never be used with another temperature control element.
- Never overfill the pan with oil or fat over the „MAX“ line.
- Before using the pan for the first time, wash any parts that come into contact with food.
- In case of damage to the cord, it is necessary to have it replaced by the manufacturer, a service shop, or a trained person, to avoid any risk.
II. PREPARING THE PAN FOR COOKING (Figure 1)
1. Place the pan on a suitable flat horizontal surface so that there is nothing around the
pan and plug the temperature control plug in the pan. Turn the Control knob as far as its stop before degree 1. Plug the cord in the mains.
2. Fill the pan with oil or fat so that its bottom is fully covered with a layer of uniform depth.
3. The desired temperature setting is achieved by rotating the temperature control knob to
a position when the desired setting degree is against the dot. After the set temperature is achieved the pilot lamp goes off.
4. After cooking, set the control knob back before degree 1, pull the plug out of the wall
outlet and than only unplug the temperature control plug off the pan.

III. INSTRUCTIONS FOR COOKING WITH THE PAN
GB
Frying
The temperature control knob must be set to degrees 5 and 6 corresponding to a temperature between 180 and 200 degrees Celsius. Use 5 or 6 depending on the quality of the fat you are using. After the signal lamp has gone OFF, put the food in the fat. If the pan is to be used repeatedly, have the pan heated until the pilot lamp goes off every time.
Stewing
Fill the pan with the food you want to cook to up to three quarters of the height of its side wall. Rotate the temperature control knob to degree 2 or 3 and once the food starts to boil, turn the knob back as near as possible to the point when the pan is switched off (the pilot lamp going OFF). For stewing, it is recommended to use the lid.
Baking
Fill the pan with the food to up to three quarters of the height of its side wall. In case the food contains fat, rotate the control knob to 3 or 4 and turn it to a suitable lower setting when the food is being finished. If the food contains a high content of juice, set the knob to 4 and once it starts boiling hard, turn the knob back as near as possible to the point when the pan is switched off (the pilot lamp going OFF).
Keeping food warm
To keep the food warm over a period of time, set the temperature control knob to 1 or 2.
IV. A FEW GOOD TIPS
- If the pan is to be used to bake cake in it, spread suitable fat all over its bottom and dust
the fat with flour.
- To avoid burning of the fat or oil used for cooking, it must be exchanged regularly rather
than adding new oil to used one.
- It is recommended to avoid frying or stewing food with no fat or water added.
V. MAINTENANCE
- Before every maintenance, unplug the appliance from the mains by removing the plug
from the socket.
- The pan can be dipped in water when it is washed or it can be washed in a dish washer.
- As soon as possible after the pan has cooled down sufficiently, wash it in hot water.
- Never use sharp objects (such as a knife, spatula or wire wool) and rough detergents
containing abrasives to clean the pan.
- The temperature control element must be wiped clean with dry cloth only.
- Before plugging the temperature control element in the socket on the pan, be careful to
dry the inside of the socket.
- The TEFLON lining is not renewable.
Any exchange of parts requiring interference with the electric systems of the appliance may be done only by a specialised electric shop. Failure to observe the manufacturer’s instructions voids the warranty.
