This document describes the working instruction for standard repair package for T18.

Applicable for all T18 products.

To verify all components within standard repair package all test actions must be performed.

Download latest signalling software and perform service activities software from EMMA shell.

Verifies that the radio parameters of the phone fulfils the GSM900/GSM1800 specifications. Start test
according to instructions on the test set. If all measurements are approved this will be visualised and if
not, all faults will be presented either on the screen or printed out.
Connect the phone via antenna cable to the test set. Power up the phone with a fully charged battery and
a test SIM card.
Start selfexecuting test in the test set according to instruments manual. Follow instructions received
form the test set. Perform an audio test by talking into the mic and listen to the backlooped sound in the
earphone. Check that the green toppindicator flashes at “service” and that the buzzer sounds at “call to
mobile” if that test is performed. Check that the background light and the display segment are working
OK.
3.3. MANUAL TEST
3.3.1. KEYPAD TEST
Verify that the keyboard is OK by pushing keys on the keypad and volume keys. Verify that the back-
ground illumination is OK by opening the flip. Now the illumination should turn on. Close the flip and
the background illumination turns off after 10 seconds delay.
3.3.2. DISPLAY TEST
To make sure there are no dots or icons missing in the display.
Fill the display with characters, e.g “8” and ”+”
Lower the ring volume until the “no sound“ icon appears.
Check that the “hook” icon is present during call.
3.3.3. ON THE AIR CALL TO MOBILE
To verify the function of these parts; active flip, earphone, microphone, buzzer, volume buttons and
radio
Set up a call from land line phone to the mobile phone.
Answer the phone call by opening the flip.
Check that the buzzer is working and that the background light switches on OK.
Also check that the quality of sound both in the mobile phone and the land connected phone is OK.
End the call by closing the flip on the mobile phone.
Check that the ending procedure is OK and that the speech time is displayed (if the phone is equipped
with that feature).
3.3.4. SYSTEM CONNECTOR TEST
The test should be performed with accessories to verify the system connector.
Necessary accessories are:
· Portable handsfree kit
· Vehicle Handfree set for 700- series: HF 7300.

Plug in the handsfree connector into the phone’s system connector. Insert the earphone in your ear and
attach the microphone clip to a suitable part of your clothing.
Power up the phone and set up call.
Check out if the microphone and earphone is OK.
· TEST WITH VEHICLE HANDSFREE SET
Connect a vehicle handsfree kit.
Attach the phone in the holder. In the display the battery indicator should start indicate charging while
the rest of the display is blank.
Turn on the phone by pressing [NO]. The battery indicator indicates charging while the name of the
operator for the SIM card is shown.
Set up a call by dialling the number and press [YES]. Make sure that you hear the other person and that
he/she can hear you. Press [NO] to hang up.
3.3.5. VIBRATOR TEST
Verify that the vibrator is OK by activating the vibrator in the menu of the mobile phone;
settings / vibrator. Press [YES] and the vibrator vibrates 3 times.
If the mobile phone is passing these steps of testing without any malfunctions it is OK to return it to the
customer.
