WARNING
This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment this product may cause radio interference, in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures. The printers in which this board is installed becomes class A devices.
The connection of a non-shielded printer interface cable to this board will invalidate the EMC standards of this device. You are cautioned that changes or modifications not expressly approved by Seiko Epson Corporation could void your authority to operate the equipment.

Introduction
The UB-U01III/U02III/U03II, designed for EPSON® TM printers, is a USB interface board.
When you install the UB-U01III/U02III, you cannot use a display module
connector (DM connector) on the printer. Use the DM connector on the UB-U01III/U02III.
The UB-U01III uses a bus-powered hub. Note that it cannot be directly
connected to other bus-powered hubs (including the UB-U01III) or bus­powered functions that consume current over 100 mA. (The UB-U02III and UB-U03II can be directly connected to the hub on the UB-U01III.)

Hardware: USB compliant PC OS: Windows 98 or later (Second Edition is recommended) For detailed information on other operating systems, please ask your dealer. Software: You need a device driver when you use the product. Please ask your dealer how to get the device driver for the UB-U01III/ U02III/U03II and how to install it.
Note:
Even if the above operation environments are satisfied, your system may not work properly, depending on the devices connected to your system.
Unpacking
Make sure you have these items. If any item is missing or damaged, please contact your dealer for assistance. If necessary, you can get a locking wire strain relief separately through your dealer by using the part numbers listed below in brackets.

Connecting the Interface Cable

USB Interface Cable Connection
1. Make sure both the printer and the host computer are turned off.
2. Hook the USB cables through the locking wire strain relief to keep it in place.
3. Insert the square connector end of the USB cable into the upstream connector of the UB-Board.
4. Insert the opposite end of the USB cable into the downstream connector of the host computer.
5. Change the printer settings to the parallel interface settings. If you use a printer that permits selecting the setting of the I/F pin 31 reset signal, select “Enabled.” For details, see the settings described in the printer documentation.
6. Install the device driver for the TM-U01III/U02III/U03II. For installation procedures, please ask your dealer.
