1.3 INSERT THE SIM CARD LIKE THIS
A SIM card is needed for phoning. It is inserted this way:
D Turn around the closed mobile
phone, slide the battery cover down with your thumb approx. 5mm and then take it off.
D Take out the battery (providing it is
already in the device). Raise and lift or pull out the lower corners.
D Battery contacts must be lying on
the golden contacts of the mobile phone.

1.5 HOW TO CHARGE THE BATTERY

Please note: Charge the battery for at least 4 hours before the first phone call.
D
Put the mains plug into a mains socket.
D Put the recharger cable connector
into the jack at the top end of the mobile phone.

D During the charging process, a large battery symbol and charging will be
indicated on the mobile phone. Furthermore, the signal light flashes in orange if there is contact between the charger and the mobile phone (begins to flash approx 10 seconds after putting in the recharger cable).
D As soon as the battery is fully charged, Battery Full appears in the display and
the orange signal light stops flashing and remains constantly lit.
D Disconnect the recharger cable from the mobile phone as well as from the
socket.
1.6 THE TIME HAS COME: SWITCH ON
D -Slide up the cover on the left of the mobile phone. By doing this, the
mobile phone switches on.
D When using a new SIM-card for the first time the 4-digit PIN-Code must be
entered. The PIN-Code prevents someone else from switching on your mobile phone. However, it does not prevent someone else from using it if it is already switched on. Please obtain the PIN-Code from your Network Operator’s details (you received an information pack with your SIM card)..
D Slide open the mobile phone for PIN-Code entry and enter the PIN-Code with
the numerical keypad. Confirm with typing the numbers with

1.7 SWITCH OFF PIN-CODE
To avoid problems later on through forgetting the PIN-Code, we recommend
that the PIN query is switched off. (However, this is not possible with some network operators.)
D With the sliding cover open, access Settings in the menu with

2 GET TO KNOW YOUR MOBILE PHONE IN 10 MINUTES
2.1 DO NOT WORRY IF YOU GET LOST IN THE MENU
D Whenever you get carried away in the menu, simply close the sliding cover
of the mobile phone. By doing this you will see the familiar view again on the screen! (=Stand-by mode)

D If the mobile phone is not used for over two minutes, the screen switches itslef
off. The mobile phone is now in economy mode but still ready to receive. The screen becomes active again by shortly pressing a random button.

2.2 TAKING A CALL
On an incoming call the telephone rings and vibrates. The green signal light flashes and the number and name of the caller can be read on the screen (if saved in the phone book).
