Use
• This appliance is designed for domestic use. It must not
be used for purposes other than those for which it was designed.
• Only wash and dry fabrics which are designed to be
machine washed or dried. Follow the instructions on each garment label
• Do not overload the appliance. See the “Washing and drying programs” table on pages 11-13.
• Before washing, ensure that all pockets are empty and buttons and zips are fastened. Avoid washing frayed or
torn articles and treat stains such as paint, ink, rust, and
grass before washing. Underwired bras must NOT be
machine washed.
Risk of fire! Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously,
especially when exposed to heat sources such as in a tumble dryer. The items become warm, causing an
oxidation reaction in the oil. Oxidation creates heat. If the
heat cannot escape, the items can become hot enough to
catch re. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can
prevent heat from escaping and so create a fire hazard. If it is unavoidable that fabrics that contain vegetable or cooking oil or have been contaminated by hair care products be placed in a tumble dryer they should first be washed in
hot water with extra detergent - this will reduce, but not
eliminate, the hazard.
• Please make sure that no gas lighters or matches have
accidentally been left in pockets of garments to be loaded into the appliance.
• In order to avoid danger of res caused by excessive
drying, do not use appliance to dry the following items:
cushions, quilts and the like (these items accumulate heat).
• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps,
waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the appliance.
• If you have washed your laundry with stain remover you
must execute an extra rinse cycle before drying.
• Garments which have been in contact with volatile
petroleum products should not be machine washed. If
volatile cleaning uids are used, care should be taken to ensure that the uid is removed from the garment before
placing in the machine.
• As some duvets/doonas and eiderdowns should be
washed/dried in large commercial machines because of their bulk, please check with the manufacturer of the item before washing in a domestic machine.
• Never tumble dry items that have had contact with chemicals such as dry cleaning uid. These are of a volatile nature and could cause an explosion. Only tumble dry items which have been washed in water or require airing.
• Plastic detergent dispensers should not remain in the
drum during the drying cycle, as the plastic used is not designed to withstand the heat. If you wish to wash
through-to-dry you should use the conventional detergent
dispenser drawer.
• Do not use tumble dryer if industrial chemicals have been
used for cleaning.
• Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.
• Items which have been soiled with substances such as
cooking oil, alcohol, petrol, kerosine, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of detergent before drying in the tumble dryer.
• Fabric softeners, or similar products should be used as
specified by the fabric softener instructions.
• The nal part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool down cycle) to ensure that the items are left at the
temperature that ensures that the items will not be damaged.
• Never pull the power supply cable to remove the plug
from the socket; always take hold of the plug itself.
• Never use your new appliance if the power supply cable,
the control panel, the working surface or the base are damaged so that the inside of the appliance is accessible.
• Hot surface! Do not touch the back of the appliance
while it is operating.
• Once the drying cycle program has been interrupted, the
laundry and drum may be hot.
Risk of burns! Take care when removing the laundry.
• Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out
so that the heat is dissipated.
