1. IMPORTANT REMARK Congratulations! You are the owner of a carefully designed and manufactured equipment.
We thank you for trusting in us and choosing our VERSO Series loudspeaker cabinets. In order to get the optimum operation and efficiency from this unit, it is VERY IMPORTANT
- before you plug anything - to read this manual very carefully and bear in mind all considerations
specified within it. We strongly recommend that its maintenance be carried out by our Authorised Technical services.
2. WARNINGS
No user serviceable parts exist inside these units. Never use this unit in the proximity of water. Do not expose the unit to water splashing, nor place liquid containers on top of it.
Avoid placing the unit next to heat sources. Use only the accessories specified by the manufacturer that are appropriate for each
connection. Do not hang up the equipment by its carry handles.
Keep these instructions and respect the warnings contained in them.
3. INTRODUCTION
The speakers of VERSO series have been designed to cover a wide range of applications: From conference rooms, where considerable intelligibility is required, to outdoor applications such as marquees, mobile discos, meetings, presentations, etc. These are situations that require good sound projection, a high sound pressure level and reliable operation.
All the models are made of high density plastic and protected by an acoustically transparent perforated grille at the front. All the models have an efficient Larsen high-frequency protection system (acoustic regeneration or coupling) and signal clipping. The connection plates are fitted with Speakon® connectors.
4. MODELS
VERSO 8 (150W RMS / 8 ohms):
Uses an 8” bass speaker (woofer). A 34 mm motor is used as a high frequency transducer.
VERSO 10 (250W RMS / 8 ohms):
Fitted to a 10” bass speaker. A 34 mm motor is used for high frequencies.
VERSO 12 (350W RMS / 8 ohms):
Uses a 12” speaker that supports wide ranges of movement. A 44 mm motor is used for high frequencies.

5. CONNECTIONS
The connection cables which connect the amplifiers output and the speaker should be of good quality, have sufficient conductor area and be as short as possible. The latter fact is specially important when the distance is long and the load impedance low (4-8 Ω). A cross-section of at least
2
is recommended for distances up to 10m; 4 or 6mm2 for longer distances. Following formula
2.5mm gives the required section, assuming 4% losses:
Length in m
Cross section in mm
2
= ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
Loudspeaker Impedance in Ω
Always respect the polarity of all the units with respect to each other and with respect to the amplifier to which they are connected. All the connectors are of the Speakon® type with the cable connectors shown in the diagram.
6. RECOMMENDED AMPLIFIER
Following table shows the output power of the amplifier adequate to each acoustic system:
VERSO 8 between 150 and 300W
VERSO 10 between 250 and 500W
VERSO 12 between 350 and 700W
7. PRE-AMPLIFIER MIXERS
There are usually one or more pieces of equipment for processing the audio signals (preamplifiers, mixers, equalisers, etc.), which then send them to the power amplifier connected to the installation speakers. As a general precaution, avoid excessive gain adjustments in the equalizers and tone controls.

8. LOCATION AND ASSEMBLY
The following general rules should be observed:
Stand or hang the cabinets on solid, firm surfaces.
There must be no obstacles between the cabinets and the audience. High frequencies,
unlike low ones, are extremely directive and any obstacle will cause an attenuation in its
response.
For large audience areas, the higher the cabinets are placed, the better the propagation of
the sound over the distance. To achieve this, use standardised tripods (with a stem 35 mm in
diameter, such as the ECLER TRIPO1 model), which should be inserted into the casing
specially provided for that purpose located on the inner side of the box.
The VERSO 8, 10 and 12 models are also prepared for operation on the g round, when laid
flat (e.g., for use as a stage monitor), without the need to use any optional accessories.
For wall mounting, an optional accessory is required: reference SR12 for VERSO model
12 / reference SR8 for VERSO models 10 and 8. In this case, an additional safety cable must
also be used (see details in section 10).
If the cabinets are hung, 6 anchoring points will be required: 3 nuts embedded on the top
side and 3 more on the lower side which under the rubber feet (see diagram in section 10).
Do not hang the equipment by its carry handles.
