Electric Brake Installation Instructions (Kit PN 72730)
1. Remove all parts from shipping box, inspect for damage or missing components.
2. Remove both wheels from the Chipper.
3. Disassemble hub groups in the following order: Dust Cap, Cotter Pin, Spindle Nut, Washer, Outside Bearing and the Hub Assembly (includes Grease Seal, Inside Bearing and Hub). Refer to Figure 1 below for individual components.

4. Slide the Electric Brakes onto the Four Hole Plate and secure with brake mounting bolts and nuts. Note: A left and a right brake are included.
5. Install new or repack Inside Bearing removed in Step 3 into Hub w/Drum.
6. Install new Grease Seal into Hub w/Drum.
7. Install Hubs with Drum from Electric Brake Kit. Refer to Figure 2.

8. Install new or repack the Outside Bearings removed in Step 3, Washers, Spindle Nuts, Cotter Pins and Dust Caps. Refer to Figure 3 for component placement.

9. Replace Chipper wheel.

Brake Wiring Instructions
1. Connect the Butt Splice on the Ground Wire Harness to one lead of the Magnet Lead Assembly on each Electric Brake. Refer to Figure 4.
2. Attach the Ground Wire Harness Ring Terminal to a 3/8” stud on the Chipper Frame. Refer to Figure 4. Tie the Harness Wire to an axle beam or the frame.

3. Connect the Butt Splice on the Wire Harness to one lead of the Magnet Lead Assembly on each Electric Brake. Refer to Figure 5.
4. Plug the Wire Harness Four Pole Flat Connector into the existing Four Pole Flat Connector on the Chipper Lights. Refer to Figure 5.
5. Plug the Six Pole Plug on the Wire Harness into the Wire Connection of a Brake Controller equipped vehicle pulling the Chipper. Refer to Figure 5.
