PowerG Wireless, PIR/Pet Immune Motion Detector Installa tion Instructions
The PGx914 (pet imm une) is a microprocessor-controlled wirelessdigital PIR detector sup ported by DSC alarm systems using Powe rGtw o-way commun ication proto col.

1. INSTALLATION
General Guidance

Installation Procedure

1. M ount the bracket on th e wall.
2. Press in the po int marked "F" in the draw ing and separate th e cover from the b ase.
3. In sert the batt ery while observing po larity-OR-I f battery is already installed, remo ve the activation strip that protrude sfro m the fron t of the d etector.
4. Re turn the cover to the base u ntila clickis hea rd (the snap is closed).
5. Secure th e detector w ith the screw.
6. Align the d etector with the bracket.
7. Slide the d etector upwa rd until a click ishe ard.
Note: The dete ctor transmits a low battery signal upon de tection of low voltage. It is recommen ded to wait abou t 1 minute after ba tteryre moval, before inserting the new batt ery. PGx914 shallb e installed in accordance with the Standa rd for Installation and Classification of Burglar and Holdup Alarm Systems, UL 681.
Caution! Risko f explosion if battery isrep laced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used ba ttery according to the m anufacturer's instructions.
Removing the Pet Mask
Remo ve the plastic pet mask if you do not requ ire pet immu nity.
1. Place your thum b at the b ase of the Pet M ask.
2. Place your fingers at th e top of t he Pet Mask.
3. Lift th e Pet Mask to rem ove.
Disassembly from Bracket
1. Relea se screw.
2. Separat e the cover from t he base.
3. Rem ove batte ry.
4. Press on the stop per snap to relea se the base fro m the bra cket.
5. Slide the ba se downwa rd to remove.

See the In stallation Ma nual for the a larm system th at the d evice is being en rolled on , to ensure th at the p roper steps are used .

Enter the D evice Enrollment opt ion th rough the spe cified meth od and select th e appropriate o ption to ad d a new d evice.

Enrollth e device by either holding t he enroll button until the enrollment is dete cted, or by ent ering the Device ID.

Select the desired Zon e Numbe r.

Configure a ny device paramete rsth at are required.

Temperature Display
For instructions on displaying the tem perature o f zones on th e control panel as measure d by PGx914 detectors, see t he alarm systems Installation Ma nual for deta ils.
2. Configuring the Detector Parameters
Enter the DEVICE SETTINGS menu and follow the configurat ion instructions for the PGx914 d etector as described in the f ollowing tab le.
Option Configuring Instructions
Alarm LED
Define wh ether or no t the alarm L ED indication will be activated.
Optional settings: LED ON (de fault) and LED OFF.
Event Count er
Define wh ether an a larm will be activated up on continued motion (low sen sitivity) or upon a single alarm event (high sensitivity). Optional settings: LOW sensitivity (default) and H IGH sensitivity.
High Traffic Shutdown
Define wh ether or no t the sensor is active when th e system is disarmed. Option al settings: NOT Active while disarmed (default), - no delay, 5s delay, 15s de lay, 30s delay, 1m d elay, 2m d elay, 5m delay, 10 m delay, 20m delay and 60 m delay.
3. LOCAL DIAGNOSTICS TEST
Note: Ru n a diagnostic test at least once a week to en sure that th e detector is working correctly.
1. Sepa rate the base from t he cover .
2. Re place the cover to ret urn the ta mper switch to its normal (undisturbed) po sition, and then secure th e front cover to th e base with the case closure screw.
3. The PGx914 d etector wille nter a 2 m in. stability period. During th istime the red L ED blinks.
4. Walk-test the coverag e area.Walk across the far e nd of the coverage patte rn in both directions. The red LED lights each time your m otion is detected followed by 3 L EDblinks.
Important! Instruct the user to walk test at least once a we ek to verify proper fun ctioning of the d etector.
The following ta ble outlines received signal strength indication:

Important! Reliable reception must be a ssured. Therefo re, poor signal strength is not acceptab le. If you receive a poor signal from the device, re­locate it and re-test until a good or strong signal strength is received. For UL/ULC installations, only STRONG signal levela re acceptab le.
After installation verify the product fu nctionality with the compa tible receivers HSM2HOST9, HS2LCDRF (P)9, HS2ICN RF(P)9, PG9920 and WS900- 29, WS900-19.

4. TROUBLESHOOTING
If you en counter one of the f ollowing prob lems with the PGx914, pe rform the sugg ested solution from t he following table:
Problem Solution
Attempt to enroll the sensor is unsuccessful.
Ensure that t he detecto ris within wirelesscom munication range of the receiver. Ensure that the enroll butto n on the d evice is held until the LED flash is seen, and t hen released.
The sensor an d the pa nel do not commun icate.
Perform a p lacemen t test as described in the a larm systems Installation Man ual. Ensure that th e device isw ithinw ireless commun ication rang e of the receiver and rem ove any possible sources of interference. I f necessary, replace the sensor's batt ery.
The sensor send sa low battery indication.
To ensure con tinuous proper operation , replace the ba ttery within two we ekso f the first low batte ry indication.
Panel does no t arm becau se of a sensor malfunction.
Follow the diagn osticte st procedure from Section 3 a bove to te st the detector. Re place the ba ttery if flashing LEDs are not see n during this test. If th e system still cannot be armed, con sultw ith your alarm system technician for a solution.

6. Special Comments
Even the m ost sophisticated d etectors can sometime s be defea ted or ma y fail to warn b ecause of DC p ower failure or imprope r connection, ma licious masking of th e lens, tamp ering with the op tical system, decreased sen sitivity in ambient t emperatu resclose to th at of the human body and u nexpected failure of a com ponent p art.
The ab ove list includes the mo st common rea sons for failure to dete ct intrusion, but is by no m eans compre hensive. It is recommend ed that t he detector a nd the e ntire alarm system be che cked wee kly, to ensure p roper performa nce.
An alarm system mu st not be reg arded as a sub stitute fo r insurance. Property owners or ren ters should be prud ent to cont inue insuring their property, even though t hey are protecte d by an alarm system.

Le PGx914 (non dé clenchemen t par lesa nimaux) est un détecteur PIR numé rique sans fil contrôlé par microprocesseur compa tible avec le système d'alarme DSC grâce au p rotocole de com munication bidirectionnel PowerG.

3. In sérezla pile en orientan t convenablemen t les pôles, OU, si la pile est déjà en place, tirez surla langu ette d'activation dépassant à l'avant du détecteur.
4. Re mettez le capot en place sur le socle jusqu'au dé clic (enclenchemen t de la fermeture).
5. Fe rmez le détecteu rà l'aide d'un e vis.
6. Alignez le détecteur sur le support.
7. Fa ites coulisser le détecteur vers le haut jusqu'au déclic.
Remar que: le détecteu re nvoieu n signal de pile faible lorsqu'ildét ecte que la tension est insuffisante. Il est conseilléd 'attendre 1 minut e après le retraitd e la pile avant d'en insérer une neu ve. PGx914 sera installé conformém ent à la norme UL 6 81, Standard for Installations and Classifications of burglar and Ho ldup Alarm Systems.
Aver tisseme nt!Risque d 'explosion sivous rem placez la pile par une p ile de type incorrect. Mettez la pile usagée au re but en suivant les instructions du fabricant.
Retrait du masque animaux
Sivou sn'a vez pas besoin de la fonction de n on-déclenchemen tp ar les animaux, retirez le masque a nimaux en plastique.
1. Placez votre pou ce à la base du ma sque animaux.
2. Placez vos doigts en hau t du masque an imaux.
3. Soulevez le masque anima ux pour le retirer.
Retrait depuis le support
1. Desserrez la vis.
2. Séparez le capot du socle.
3. Retirez la pile.
4. Appuyez sur la languette d e blocage pour déga ger le socle du support.

Enregistrement
Consultez le Man uel d'installation d es systèmes d'alarme et suivez la procédure d'en registremen t.
Une d escription géné rale de la procédure est indiquée dans le tableau suivant.
Étape Procédure

Consultez le Manu eld'installation du système d'alarme dans lequel l'appareil est enregistré afin de suivre la procédure adéq uate.
2 Utilisez la méthode p réconisée pour accéde rà l'option
d'enregistremen t de l'appareil et sélectionnez corresponda nte pour ajoute ru n nouvel appareil.
3 Enregistrezl'app areilen m aintenant la pression sur le bouton
jusqu'à ce que l'enregistrement soit dé tecté ou en saisissant l'ID
de l'appareil. 4 Sélectionne zle Num éro de zone voulu. 5 Configurez les paramè tresn écessaires de l'appareil.

Mont eze t testez le détecte ur. Pour savoir comme nt tester

l'appareil est enregistré pour connaît re la procédure à suivre.
Remar ques:
Sile dé tecteur est déjà enregistré, vous pouvez configurer ses paramè trese n program mant le système. Pou rplus d'informa tions sur lesp aramètres de l'appareil, consultez le Manu eld 'installation du système d'alarme.
Affichage de la température
Pour savoircom ment afficher sur la centrale des zones concernées la temp érature mesurée pa rles déte cteurs, consultez le Manuel d'installation des systèmes d'alarme.
2. Configuration des paramètres du détecteur
Allez dans le menu Param.D.L' appar. et suivez les instructions de configuration du d étecteur PGx914 indiquées dans le tableau ci-dessous.
Option Instructions de configuration
LED ALRM Définissez si l'indication LED de l'alarme sera activée.
Options: LED ON(pa rd éfaut) et LED OFF.
Comp t.d'évènem Indiquez siu ne alarme sera activée en cas de
mouvem ents répétés (sensibilité faible) ou en cas d'événem ent unique (sensibilité élevée). Options: BASS SENSITIVITE(par dé faut) et HAUT SENSITIVITE.
Arrêt traficé levé Définissez sile capteu re sta ctif lorsque le système
est désarmé. Options : NON ACTIF sidé sarmé (par dé faut) ­aucun dé lai, délai 5 s, délai1 5 s, délai3 0 s,d élai1 m, délai 2 m, dé lai 5 m, délai 10 m, dé lai 20 m et délai 60 m.
3. TEST DE DIAGNOSTIC LOCAL
Rema rque:e xécutez un test de diagnostic au moins une fo is par semaine pour vous assurer que le déte cteur fonctionn e correctemen t.
1. Sépa rezle capo t du socle .
2. Re positionnez le capot po ur remettre le commuta teur d'autoprot ection
en position norma le (pas d'infraction) puis fixez le capot avant au socle avec la vis prévue à cet effet.
3. L e détecteur PGx914 entre da nsu ne phase de stab ilisation de
2minutes. Le voyant roug e clignote pen dant toute la du rée de la stabilisation.
4. Te stez la zone couverte en la traversant.Traversez l'extrémité de la
zone de couvertu re dans lesd eux directions. Le voyant rouge s'éclaire à chaque f oisqu e votre mouvemen t est détecté, puis ilclignote trois fois.
Important ! Deman dez à l'utilisateur d'effe ctuer un test de déplaceme nt au moins une fo is par semaine pour vérifier que le détecteu rf onctionne correctement.
Le tab leau ci-dessous indique la puissance du signal reçu.
Voyant Réception
Voyant vert clignotan t Fort Voyant orange clignotan t Bon Voyant rouge clignotan t Faible Aucun clignote ment Pas de comm.
Important ! Vous devez vous assurerq ue la réception est fiable. Par conséquen t, une puissance de signal faible est inacceptable. Si vous recevez un signal faible de l'appa reil, changez-le d'emplacemen t et recommencez les tests jusqu'à obtenir un signal bon ou fort. Pour les installations conformes UL/ULC , seul un signal FORT est acceptable.
Après l'installation, vérifiez le fonctionne ment du prod uita vecles récepteu rs compatibles HSM2HOST9, HS2LCD RF(P)9, HS2ICNRF(P)9, PG9920 et WS900-29, WS900-19.
