Note; On vehicles without factory bumper, it will be necessary to relocate license plate mounting bracket.
1. Remove and discard M12 hex bolt from end of each frame rail if present.
2. Remove ground wire and ground wire bolt, if present, on driver’s side frame rail.
3. Lift receiver into position, locating slots in receiver over weld nuts in vehicle frame.
Note; Vehicles without factory bumper, use the existing holes in the frame rails, bolt the reinforcement brackets into the inside end of each frame rail
using item 3,10, and 11 provided. The reinforcement brackets should rest against the frame rail lower flanges (see figure 1).
4. Install M12 hex bolts and conical washer through receiver into weld nuts in vehicle frame rail.
Note; See figure 1 for placement of fasteners on vehicles without bumper.
5. Using the hitch as a template, enlarge hole with 9/16” drill for the center fastener on each side.
6. Install remaining fasteners as shown.
7. Reinstall ground wire and ground wire bolt to hole in side of bracket.
Note; On 6’ bed models, item 4 located at forward-most attachment on driver’s side maybe oriented as shown in figure 2, if necessary, to insure
clearance of rivets. Block must sit flat on frame.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5
