Subject: Improvement of playability.
Symptom: Improvement of SLED hunting.
Solution:
occurs. MODIFICATION: We will supply the following program files for updating the Back-end firmware. Therefore, please record the Folder (includes the firmware) onto a blank CD-R separately and individually, and update the firmware in the Back-end on your customer's unit upon claim.
Cautions:
1) When recording the file(s) on a blank CD-R, the format shall be "ISO9660" and the session shall be "CLOSE".
2) When recording the program file on the CD-R, please record it at the 4-times speed of the normal speed.
3) When the 4-times speed is not available, please record it at the minimum speed that is available in your machine.
4) If the file was recorded at a high speed, such as 32 or 48 times speed of the normal speed, the upgrading may fail due to the data incorrectly recorded on the CD-R.

Update procedures:
Caution: During the update operation, do not turn off the AC Power or do not change the function of the unit by any means.
1) Turn the Power of the unit on.
2) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button to open the Tray.
3) Place the CD-R disc for updating on the Tray.
4) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button to close the Tray.
5) The update operation starts, the Display indicates "COMPLETE" upon completion of the update, and the operation stops after the Tray opened.
6) Turn the Power of the unit off.
7) At the Test Mode, confirm that the Version is the latest one.
Confirmation of the Version:
(1) Turn off the Power switch of the unit once. While holding the "PLAY/PAUSE" and "STOP OPEN/CLOSE" buttons on the unit down simultaneously, switch the Power on. (2) After indicating the "DCD-CX3" or "RCD-CX1"on the FL Display, press the "SKIP FORWARD" button on the front panel and confirm that the following firmware versions appear when the button was pressed at the first, the second and the third times.
1) At the first time: BE 100171
2) At the 2nd time: MAKE 202
Cautions during the rewriting operation:
1) Please do not turn off the Power during the rewriting operation.
2) If the Display continues to indicate "LOADING" without changing into "COMPLETE" during the rewriting operation, wait longer than 5 minutes after closing the Disc Tray. Then, turn off the Power of the unit and start the rewriting operation from the beginning again.
Note: In these models, the replacement Flash ROM on which the above improved firmware has been recorded is not available. Therefore, please be sure to rewrite the BE ROM after replacing the Flash ROM.
