Regenerate the filter
Proceed as follows:
•Turn the appliance off by pressing the and
buttons and unplug from the mains socket.
• Remove the water tank (N).
• Remove the limescale filter (P).
• Place the limescale filter in the filter holder (fig.
9). (You are recommended to do this over the
kitchen sink).
• Attach the tank to the limescale filter.
• Dissolve the contents of the sachet of citric acid
supplied (T) in a litre jug of tap water.
• Pour the resulting solution into the tank and
allow all the contents to pass through the filter
(about 20 minutes), then wait for a minimum of
40 minutes to regenerate the limescale filter.
•To rinse the limescale filter, fill the water tank
with 1 litre of tap water and allow all the contents to pass through the filter.
•When the operation is completed, put the filter
and tank back in place.
• The appliance is ready for use.
NB: Regeneration of the limescale filter extends
the efficient working life of the iron. After five
years use, the filter should be replaced. Sachets of
citric acid and the limescale filter are available from
authorised service centres.
AFTER IRONING
After finishing ironing, you should put the ironing
system away with the door tightly closed to avoid
dust and foreign bodies falling into the tank and
possibly jeopardising operation of the pump. Place
the iron on the iron rest (in the secured position for
models with domestic iron (B)) and wait for the
system to cool down before putting it away.
PLUSES OF THE IRONING SYSTEM
High pressure for drier more constant
steam
Water softener system to reduce the
build up of lime scale in the steam generator
The constant fill system enables you to
iron without interruption.
Provides vertical steam to iron jackets
and curtains.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (UK ONLY)
A) If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13
Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off
from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below.
WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the
house as this could cause a shock hazard.
With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be
protected by a 15 Amp fuse.
If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-fitted
when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS
1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be
used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your
nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse
cover is that as marked on the base of the plug.
B) If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the instruc-
tions provided below:
WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
IMPORTANT
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green and yellow: Earth
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with
the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as
follows:
The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug
marked with the letter E or the earth symbol or coloured green or
green and yellow.
The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter
N or coloured black.
The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.
