Dell PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS HBA
The Dell PowerEdge 12Gbps Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) Controller provides
high-performance connectivity.
Dell PowerEdge enterprise-class controllers
enhance performance, increase reliability and
fault tolerance and simplify management,
providing a powerful and easy-to-manage
way to create a robust infrastructure and help
maximize server uptime. The Dell PowerEdge
12Gbps SAS Host Bus Adapter (HBA) is part of
the Dell PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS Controller
family.
Manage data overload
Providing up to 12Gbps throughput and improved
hardware performance, the PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS
Controller helps you manage demanding workloads
with high-performance connectivity and exibility
for tiered storage. The PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS HBA
provides connectivity support for the Dell MD34xx
RBOD and the Dell MD14xx JBOD.
Accelerate the solution
With 12Gbps data transfer rates, you can quickly and
safely back up or archive your data with your choice
of Dell PowerVault tape drives. The PowerEdge
12Gbps SAS HBA supports PowerVault LTO-3-060,
LTO4 and LTO5 tape drives.
Latest technology enhancements
The PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS HBA cards integrate
the latest enhancements in PCI Express® (PCIe) and
SAS technology. The PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS HBA
complies with the T10 SAS 3.0 and the PCIe 3.0
specications. The PCIe 3.0 host interface drives
superior system performance.
Performance advantage
The PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS HBA is backward
compatible with 6Gbps SAS drives. Regardless of
the drive speed, the PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS HBA
delivers signicant performance improvements in
both read and write applications as compared to
their 6Gbps predecessors.
Easy to use
Dell PowerEdge servers with PCIe x8 and x16
connectors support the PowerEdge 12Gbps SAS
HBA Adapter cards. These cards communicate with
SAS devices using 2x4 mini-SAS HD connectors.
