17. Align antenna to rotor system. The direction of transmission is from the reflector to the driven element (feed point).
18. Attach and secure feed to antenna (DO NOT LET FEED HANG FROM ANTENNA FEED POINT).
2. TIGHTENING OR LOOSENING LINES
Due to the nature of the construction, climate and shipping, it is occasionally required that the lines be tightened or loosened. Because of the design this is easily accomplished as follows:
1. Remove the nut and lock washer holding the offending line to the spreader arm and remove the line at one end only.
2. Twist the line in the desired direction will shorten or length the line.
3. Replace the line, lock washer, nut and tighten.
Special Note: Lines which have “T” sections will require that the line is equally tightened or loosened at both ends.
3. USE OF BALUN (purchased from outside sources)
If using the balun, ensure that the feedline and balun is properly supported to prevent stress on the wires of the antenna. Failure to do so will result in damage to the antenna.
4. PINNING SPIDER TO BOOM
We strongly suggest that the spider be pinned to the boom by using one or two self tapping screws for this purpose. These must be purchased for outside sources.
