1. Introduction
1.1. Safety Instructions
The reader must be familiar with the rules and regulations for electrical equipment and connection to the mains power network. Pay particular attention to general safety regulations for working with electrical systems.
Observe the safety instructions below to prevent injury to persons and damage to connected equipment.
Contact with electrically conductive parts after disconnection from the mains supply can be dangerous. Do not connect the equipment to the mains supply before installation.
Equipment must be installed only in protected/dry environments. Do not use metallic/pointed/sharp instruments to access the enclosure. Prevent cables and terminals from being exposed. The power plug must be accessible at all times. Qualified personnel only must perform service. Equipment must only be operated at the rated supply voltages. A suitable power supply unit is included in the scope of delivery.
Note:
Observe the manufacturer's instructions regarding the handling of power supply units (especially switching units). Observe the manufacturer's instructions regarding the handling of inverters.
1.2.
Introduction
This document describes how to configure the CLX Home product for use with a Danfoss solar inverter to enable monitoring of up to 3 DLX, ULX, TLX, TLX+, TLX Pro, TLX Pro+, FLX or FLX Pro *) inverters from a Smartphone, tablet or PC-based browser.
*) TLX Pro, TLX Pro+ and FLX Pro variants only when the inverters are connected via RS-485 and not using the master/follower concept.
To install and configure the CLX Home box:
Connect the CLX Home box to the inverter and the internet (safely behind a firewall, without configuring the latter).
Install the Danfoss SolarApp.
Enter email address and follow the setup procedure described in the Danfoss SolarApp.
For details refer to Chapter 2. When these steps are completed, it is possible to start monitoring the plant from anywhere in the world.
Note:
All values shown are based on inverter data and are not legally binding.

2.1. Installing CLX Home
Perform the following steps to install the CLX Home box:
1. Connect the power supply to the box and the mains supply.
2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the CLX Home box and to an inverter/network router.
3. Plug the RJ-45 terminator into one of the two RJ-45 RS-485 sockets of the CLX Home box.
4. Using an RJ-45 network cable (not included in the scope of delivery) (minimum cat 5e STP network cable is required) connect the inverter to the free RJ-45 socket of the CLX Home box.
5. If more than one inverter must be connected, connect the inverters in an RS-485 daisy chain (depending on inverter type, refer to the corresponding inverter manual).
6. Terminate the inverter bus at the far end with the second RJ-45 terminator (included in the scope of delivery), see the corresponding inverter manual for details. Different inverter types are terminated differently.
Note:
For initial configuration, it is important that the PC, tablet or Smartphone (with the Danfoss SolarApp installed) are connected to the same local network as the CLX Home. When the CLX Home is configured using a Smartphone or a tablet, the internet router must support WiFi.
2.1.1. Mounting
The CLX Home is intended for either wall mounting using two 3 mm screws (not included in the scope of delivery), or it can be used as a table top unit.

4. Application and Data
4.1. Main Page
When starting the Danfoss SolarApp after the initial configuration, either through a Smartphone, a tablet or using the PC and a browser plugin, the following main page is shown:
Illustration 4.1: Main Page
Allow a few minutes from power-on of the CLX product for correct values to be shown on the main page (allow time for initial data collection). The main page displays all the important plant production data including a user-definable plant name and the current 'date and time' settings. For configuration, see the
Settings
sections.
From the main page navigate to pages with more detailed information by clicking on the individual circles and links:
Click on 'View production' (large circle to the left) to see graphs with production data, see the
Production Graphs
section.
Click on 'View status' (upper right circle) to see detailed status of the connected inverters and current power output, see the
Plant Status
section.
The lower right circle shows how much CO2 the plant has saved, compared to standard electricity production. It does not link to a page, but by using 'Toggle' the user can switch between total CO2 savings and total revenue.
Click on 'Settings' (lower right corner) to navigate to detailed settings, see the
Settings
section.
