Installation of the Hybridizer
n Place the Hybridizer on a level surface suitable
for laboratory instrumentation.
n The Hybridizer has an intake fan located at the
bottom and an outlet fan at the rear; assure no obstructions exist on intake and outlet. Note: Avoid loose paper under the Hybridizer to prevent obstruction.
n Position the Hybridizer away from direct sunlight
and sources of heat or cold.
n Verify voltage requirements located on serial
No. label, rear of instrument.
Press “STOP”
button to abort a program in process
Press “Backspace” button to return to previous eld or previous screen
Connect Power and Turn on the Hybridizer
n Plug the Hybridizer into the appropriate outlet
supplying the voltage and frequency indicated on the serial No. label.
n Move switch to “ON” position. The main power
switch is located on the rear panel (I = On, O = Off).
n Instrument will beep on start-up and the
initialization screen will appear.
n The Main Menu will be displayed.
Please use the system as intended. Improper use of the Hybridizer may cause damage to the system, inaccurate results, potentially nullify warranties, or cause personal injury.

n Accommodates up to 12 slides per run. n The Hybridizer prompts to add slides. n Lift lid and load slides onto plate using slide locator for
easy positioning.
n Frosted and/or label end of slides should be away from
slide locator.
n Move slides across plate until they rest against slide locator.
Note: If slides are not resting against slide locator, closing of lid may break slides.
n The Hybridizer is capable of storing 40 programs. Each
program can be one of three program types:
- Denaturation and Hybridization
- Hybridization Only
- Fixed Temperature
n Select program type and follow screen prompts to enter
run times and set temperatures.
