USE
Power Sources–This set should be operated
only from the type of power sourceindicated on the marking label. If you are notsure of the type of electrical power supply at your home, consultyour dealer or local power company. For thosesets designed to operate from AC 90-250V~, 50/60Hz.
Grounding or Polarization–This set is equipped with a polarized AC power cord plug(a plug having one blade wider than the other), orwith a threewire grounding type plug (a plug havinga third pin for grounding). Follow the instructions below.
Overloading–Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords or convenience receptacle beyond their capacity, since this can result infire or electric shock.
Object and Liquid Entry–Never push objects of any kind into the set through openingsas they may touch dangerous voltage points or shart outparts that could result in a fire orelectric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind onthe set.
Attachments–Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.
Cleaning–Unplug the set from the wall outlet before cleaning or polishing it. Do notuse liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a clothlightly dampended with water for cleaning the exteriorof the set.

Water and Moisture–Do not use powerline operated sets near water-for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimmingpool, etc.
Accessories–Donotplacethesetonan unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The set may fall, causing serious injuryto a child or an adult, and serious damage tothe set. Use only a cart stand, tripod, bracket, ortable recommended by the manufacturer.
Ventilation–The slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for necessary ventilation. To ensure reliable operation of the set,and to protect it from overheating, these slots and openings must never be blocked or covered.
–Never cover the slots and openingswith a
cloth or other materials.
–Never block the slots and openingsby placing
the set on a bed, sofa, rugor other similar surface.
Portable Cart Warning–An appliance and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the appliance and cart combination to overturn.

–Neverplace the set in a confinedspace such as
a bookcase, or built-in cabinet unless proper ventilation is provided.
Power-Cord Protection–Route the power cord in order not to be walked onor pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to the plugs, receptacles, and thepoint where the cord exits from the appliance.
–Donot place the set over aradiator or heat
register, or where it is exposed todirect sunlight.
In the normal temperature, if you poura cold liquid into a glass, water vapour inthe air will condense on the surface of the glass.This is moisture condensation. The moisture condensation may occur inside of VCPs, ifused in this condition, it will cause damageto the head and the tape.
In case of moving the VCP froma cold place to heated place, Or the temperature of surroundings goes updue to room heating switched on. Or moving the VCP suddenly from airconditioned room to a place of high temperatureof humidity in summer.
When the moisture condensation occurs inside of the VCP, NEVER insert the cassetteinto the cassette compartment. Remove the cassette, if loaded, by pressing the STOP/EJECT key. Only operate the VCP after the moisture condensation has completely dried out. Normally, it takes about 2 hours.

SERVICE
Damage Requiring Service–Unplug the set
from the wall outlet and refer servicingto qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
–Whenthe power cord or plug isdamaged or
frayed.
–Ifliquid has been spilled or objectshave fallen
into the set.
–Ifthe set has been exposed torain or water.
–Ifthe set has been subjected to excessive
shock by being dropped, or the cabinethas been damaged.
–Ifthe set does not operate normallywhen
following the operating instructions, adjust only those controls that are specified in the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage andwill often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the set to normal operation.
–Whenthe set exhibits a distinct changein
performance, this indicates a need for service.
Servicing–Do not attempt to service the set yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Replacement of parts–When replacement of parts is required, be sure the servicetechnician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer that have the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, orother hazards.
Safety Check–Upon completion of any service or repairs to the set, ask theservice technician to perform routine safety checks (as specifiedby the manufacturer) to determine that the setis in safe operating condition.

• Avoid places subjected to strong vibration.
• Do not place anything heavy onthe VCP.
• Use the video cassette player ina horizontal (flat) position only.
• Before operating, remove any paper wrappingwhich may have been affixed to the player duringmanufacturing. DO NOT COVER VENTILATION OPENINGS ON TOP ANDSIDES OF THE PLAYER DURING OPERATION.
• When a cassette is inserted intothe loading compartment, the power is switched on automaticallyas long as the power cord isplugged into an AC outlet. DO NOT force acassette into the compartment when the powercord is unplugged.
• Keep the player and video cassetteaway from strong magnetic fields.
• After playing a video cassette, removeit from the player. DO NOT move the playerwith a cassette in the compartment.
• Store video cassettes in their sleevesor cases and position vertically.
• If a cassette has been subjectedto cold temperature, allow it to warmto roomtemperature before recording or playback.
