LITHIUM-ION BATrER¥ PROTECTION FEATURES
DieHard_ 19,2 V lithiurn-io_battery packs are designed

withfeatures that protectthe lithium-ion celiaand maxi-
mize battery life.

If the tool stops during use, release the triggerto reset
and resume operation. If the toot stilldoes notwork, the

battery needsto be recharged.
NOTE: The LED chmge Indicator lightwill not work if the

battery protectionfeature has caused the battery pack
to stop powedngthe tool. When the batterypack resets
Itself, the LEDwill again function.

CHARGING A BATTERY PACK

CHARGING A HOT BATTERY PACK
ffthebattery pack is above norma_temperaturerange,the

redLED willbeginflashingand thegreenLED wlUbeoff.

When thebattery pack coolsdown to approximately122°F,
the chargerw_ autornaticaIly begin f_st charge mode.

GHARGING A COOL BATTERY PACK
If the battery pack is below normal ternperaIure range, the

red LEJDwillbegin flashing and the green LED wiltbe off.
When the batterywarmsto a temperature of more then
82°F,thecharger willautomatically begin charge mode_

The lithium-ion battery pack can be usedin temperatures
down to -4*E Putthe battery pack on a tool and us_ the
tool in a light duty application. After about a minute, the
pack willhave warmed up and beglnoperating normally.

ENERGIZING- BATTERY CHARGER -

See Rgure 3,page tL - . :

Refer to vehicle owner's manual for location of clga-"
retts lighter receptacle or "power point'_By holdingthe
connectorfirmly, place connector intoa cigarette lighter

• receptacle or power point to energize 'batte_ charger;red
POWER LEDwill come on.

CAUTION: If the 12 V adaptor does notfit firmly
into the olgaratte lighter receptacle orpowerpoint,

thereceptacle may not be sLtltable for usewiththe

.charger. A poor connectionat tf_ebase of the 12 V

.adaptorcguld lead to electricalproblemsInthe

vehicleoutside of the protection offered by the
vehicleor charger's fuse.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most

plaslics are susceptible to damage from vadous types of
commercialsolvents and may be damaged by their use.

Use clean clothe to remove dirt, dust,oil, grease,etc,

CHANGING FUSE

See Figure 4, page it.

The 12 V adaptor contains a 250 V 8 Amp fuse to protect

the adaptorand charger from unexpected power surges.

To replace the fuse:

• Unscrew the fuse cap on the top of the 12 V adaptor.

• R_p[ace old fusewith new one. If spdng comes out, be
sure to reinsertlt before replacing new fuse.

• Threadfuse cap back onto adaptor.Tighten secUrely.

BATTERIES

This chargerwill accept all Craftsman EX and DieHard

192. Voltbattery packs. Length of servk_efrom each

chargingwilldepend on the type of work you are doing,
