Calibration Procedure - KM820/V
Verifying Infra-Red Non contact thermometers
• Insert the reference thermometer probe (e.g.
KM20Ref) fully into one of the holes in the Validator.
• Allow the instruments to stabilise to environment
conditions.
• Switch on both instruments after stabilisation
period.
• Point the Infra-Red thermometer at the base of the
Validator while ensuring the nozzle is as far inside
the Validator cup as is possible. Note the variation.
(acceptable error 2.5°C)
Verifying Contact Thermometers
• Insert the reference thermometer probe (e.g.
KM20Ref) fully into one of the holes in the Validator.
• Insert the probe of the Instrument being veried
fully into the other hole in the Validator.
• Allow the instruments to stabilise to environment
conditions.
• Switch on both instruments after stabilisation
period.
• Note the variation. The acceptance error will be
dependent on the specication of the unit being
veried.
Note: The time for the instruments to stabilise will be dependent on
the validator reaching its environment temperature, which at freezer
temperatures could be up to 2 hours.
Care must be exercised when handling the validator after
exposure to low temperatures.
