FreeSpeak II® O2 wireless beltpack
Start
A FreeSpeak II O2 wireless beltpack gives you simultaneous access to up to f ive c hannels of talk/lis ten communication, with the ability to s witch among them a s d esired. It commun icate s with the following FS II components:
The Base station (FSII-BASE or FSII-BASE-II) or Eclipse HX (with E-Que-HX) that routes communication to a nd from the beltpacks and other audio devices.
Transceiver/Antennas (FSII-TCVR-19, FSII-TCVR-24) that provide custom coverage zones in which the beltpacks operate.
Antenna splitters (PD220 3 or FSII-SPL) that run up to 5 separate transceivers/antennas.

Inserting batteries

Use your thumb to s lid e open the battery latch, and insert the 3 x AA batteries into the battery compartment ensuring the correct alternate orientation as illustr a te d.
The batteries may be Alka line or Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH). To set the battery type across the system:
For FSII-BASE, within the Configuration Tool Select System Tab > AA Battery Type
For FSII-BASE-II, within the CCM Select Home Tab > General > Wireless > AA Battery Type
For Eclipse HX, within the EHX configuration system. Select Configuration > Preferences > Wireless Beltpacks
Select the appropriate battery type (default is Alkaline) Note: Selecting the incorrect battery type will not harm the
beltpack but may cause incorrec t r ea ding of battery life remain in g.

Using the Beltpack

Ensure the beltpack has charged batteries and press a nd hold the recessed power button for three seconds to switch it on. I f you are using the beltpack with a FreeSpeak II Base station, the system has a de fault audio set-up so the system can simply be wired an d powered before basic use. The default set-up has two partyline (conference) audio channels (A and B). Each channel talks to:
All the beltpacks on that channel
The head set on the Base station.
To turn the beltpack off, press and hold the power button for three seconds. To customize an audio channel configu r ation, please refer to the FreeSpeak II User Guide.

The beltpack has four keys labelled A, B, C, and D. You can program each of these keys to determine their communication destinations, a nd the type of communication possibl e.
FS II Beltpack connectors
1) Connect a headset, using the XLR connector on the b a se / rear of the beltpack.
2) Press the appropriate key. While the key is held down, au d io tr a nsmits on that channel. When the key is released, audio no longer transmits. To latch a key on for hands-free use, quickly tap the key. Press the key to release the latch.
3) Speak into the headset micr ophone.
4) To adjust the volu me of incoming audio for a channel, turn the appropriate rotary control.

Entering and exiting Menu mode

Use Menu mode to:
Configure the s e ttings for the beltpack
Read beltpack information such as software version
Perform a site su r vey to maximize signa l s tr e ngth and coverag e.
To enter Menu mode, press and hold the Menu key for three secon ds . To exit Menu mode, press the Menu key again. For more information about u s ing Menu mode on the beltpack, see the FreeSpeak User Guide.
