Thank you for purchasing this CLARKE Drum Fan which is designed for indoor
use. Read this manual carefully, in doing so you guarantee the safety of
yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your
purchase giving you long and satisfactory service.
ENVIRONMENTAL RECYCLING POLICY
By purchasing this product, the customer is taking on the obligation
to deal with its safe disposal in accordance with the Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment regulations (WEEE).
In effect, this means that this product must not be discarded with
general household waste but according to the laws governing Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) at a recognized disposal facility.
If disposing of this product or any damaged components, do not dispose of
with general waste. This product contains valuable raw materials. Metal
products should be taken to your local civic amenity site for recycling of metal
products.
GUARANTEE
This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12
months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt which will be
required as proof of purchase.
This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused,
tampered with, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended. Faulty
goods must be returned to their place of purchase, no product can be
returned to us without prior permission.
This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights.

SAFETY RULES
Make sure that you read, understand and comply with the following rules.
POSITIONING
1. This fan is designed for indoor use only.
2. Be aware that the suction capability is considerable. DO NOT position the
fan where it will blow dust, chippings or hazardous fumes at people.
3. DO NOT place the fan close to any wet surface. DO NOT place against
any surface such as a wall, door or furniture etc.
4. DO NOT place the fan on a raised surface or anywhere it could topple
over.
5. Only use in a level position.
6. Take care that the intake grille cannot be blocked by curtains or other
fabrics. DO NOT allow loose clothing, long hair etc. to be drawn to the
intake side of the fan and ensure the outlet is clear.
7. DO NOT operate the fan in explosive atmospheres such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust such as in a paint spray booth. Electric
motors create sparks which may ignite dust or fumes.
8. DO NOT get the fan wet or use in areas of high condensation.
9. DO NOT operate without the safety grills secured in position.
10. DO NOT leave the fan running unattended over night.
PERSONNEL SAFETY
1. DO NOT use the fan when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol,
drugs or intoxicating medication.
2. DO NOT stand on the fan.
3. DO NOT use with wet hands or when there is water on the power cable.
4. Young children must be kept away unless continuously supervised.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
1. Inspect the power cable/plug for damage/looseness. DO NOT use the fan
if the power cable is damaged.
2. Make sure that the voltage on the product label is the same as the voltage
of the power supply. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
3. DO NOT abuse the electrical cable. Do not use the cable for pulling or
unplugging the fan.

4. Keep the cable away from sources of heat, oil, sharp edges or moving
parts. Damaged or tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
5. DO NOT use extension cables with this fan.
SERVICE & REPAIRS
1. Check that the fan is in good working order. Take immediate action to
have it repaired or any damaged parts replaced.
2. DO NOT attempt to repair the fan yourself. Always contact the CLARKE
service department who will use recommended parts only. Unapproved
parts may be dangerous and will invalidate your warranty.

WARNING: READ THESE ELECTRICAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
THOROUGHLY BEFORE CONNECTING THE PRODUCT TO THE MAINS
SUPPLY.
Connect the mains lead to a standard, 230 Volt (50Hz) electrical supply
through an approved BS 1363 plug or a suitably fused isolator switch.
If the plug has to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or
because of damage, it must be removed and a replacement fitted, following
the wiring instructions shown below. The old plug must be discarded safely, as
insertion into a power socket could cause an electrical hazard
WARNING: THE WIRES IN THE POWER CABLE OF THIS PRODUCT ARE
COLOURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODE:
BLUE = NEUTRAL BROWN = LIVE YELLOW AND GREEN = EARTH
If the colours of the wires in the power cable do not agree with the markings
on the plug.

AN APPROVED RESIDUAL CURRENT DEVICE (RCD) WHICH HAS A TRIPPING
CURRENT OF LESS THAN 30 mA MUST BE USED.
If you are not sure, consult a qualified electrician. DO NOT try to do any repairs
yourself.

BEFORE USE
Before assembly, check for damage and or shortages etc, any damage or
shortage should be reported to your CLARKE dealer where the fan was
purchased.
Your fan should be supplied with the
following parts:
•1 x frame
• 2 x rubber spacers
• 2 x locking knobs
Join the frame to the fan assembly
using the locking knobs and rubber
spaces as shown.
OPERATION
1. Place on a flat surface and at a safe distance from flammable materials.
2. Connect the fan to a suitable power outlet.
• The fan is operated by the ON/OFF switch.
3. Select your speed setting as
follows:
•0 - Off
• 1 - 1100 rpm,
• 2 - 1200 rpm,
• 3 - 1260 rpm.
4. Set the desired angle of tilt and
tighten the locking knobs.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
WARNING: ALWAYS DISCONNECT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE
PERFORMING ANY CLEANING OR MAINTENANCE TASKS. REPAIRS
SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY THE CLARKE SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
1. Clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
2. Clean the guards by vacuuming or wiping. If excess dust is found on the
blades/interior, the end guard can be removed to gain access by
removing the four securing screws.
REPLACE GUARDS BEFORE RE-CONNECTING TO MAINS SUPPLY.
No other maintenance is required. Should you discover any problem with the
fan return it to the CLARKE service department for repair.
Should the fan fail to operate, check the power supply and that the fuse in the
plug has not blown. Abnormal noise while the fan is running could occur if the
fan is not standing on a level surface.
