E85 COMPATIBILITY The Vortec 6.0L V8 engine,

standard on Silverado 2500HD, can operate on E85, a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. As a mostly renewable fuel, E85 can reduce our dependence on petroleum and help reduce tailpipe emissions.

FUEL EFFICIENCY On the Vortec 6.0L V8 engine,

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) adjusts airflow in and out of the combustion chamber under all engine speeds, which helps lower emissions and improve fuel economy.
