Analogue alarm clock for under-pillow vibrator

Our analogue alarm clock alerts the user with both sound and an under-pillow vibrator. It can
be used as a stand-alone wake-up system or together with our alerting system Lynx.

Batteries

The alarm clock is powered by one 1.5 volt battery, size C. The under-pillow vibrator is pow­ered by mains current. In addition, there is an alkaline back-up battery (9 volt) for the under­pillow vibrator in the event of a power failure. Always use mains power for the under-pillow
vibrator (a green LED should light up on the clock face) so as not to drain the back-up battery.
NOTE: You should change the back-up battery once a year, see instructions on next page.

Connecting the under-pillow vibrator

To Lynx Tactum: Connect Tactum’s under-pillow vibrator to the Tactum charger. Then, connect
the alarm clock to the charger, using the enclosed connection cord.

As a stand-alone wake-up system: Connect the under-pillow vibrator into the socket on the
backside of the alarm clock.

To Lynx Flash: Connect the under-pillow vibrator to Lynx Flash. Then, connect the alarm clock
to Lynx Flash, using the enclosed connection cord.

Wake-up

At wake-up time, the alarm clock will ring and the under-pillow vibrator starts vibrating, until
you turn it off.

Technical data

Power supply: 230 V AC 50-60 Hz.
Batteries: Alarm clock: 1 x 1,5 V (size C). Service life >3 years.

Back-up battery for under-pillow vibrator: 1 x 9 V (6LR61). Service life 1 year.
Under-pillow vibrator: 9-24 V DC (80 mA).

Any issues relating to the EU Medical Device Directive
93/42/EEC should be directed to AB Transistor Sweden.

Cleaning and maintenance

Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to clean the product on the outside. Use a damp cloth to wipe it on the
outside. Never use cleaning products or solvents. From time to time check that the cables and connections are intact.
The batteries last for at least 3 years. The back-up battery should always be changed once a year to ensure the clock
will operate if there is a power failure.

Repairs

If your product malfunctions, it must be repaired by a qualified technician. If your product requires service, please
contact your hearing care professional for assistance.

Waste disposal

This product contains electrical or electronic equipment and should be disposed of carefully in the interest
of your safety and the environment. Please contact your local hearing care professional concerning disposal
of the product.

General precautions

• The back-up battery should always be changed once a year to ensure the clock will operate if there is a power failure.

• Radiation from low-emitting equipment (burglar alarms, room surveillance systems, radio equipment, mobile
telephones, etc) will not damage the device.

• Warning: External devices connected to the product must be safe according the requirements of EN 60601-1-1,
EN 60335-1 or EN 60065, as appropriate.

Troubleshooting

Type of fault Cause Action

The clock has stopped. Flat battery. Replace the old battery with a new 1.5 volt

Size C battery.

The under-pillow vibra­tor is not working.

1. The under-pillow vibrator is not
connected to the clock.

2. The mains lead is not connected
and the back-up battery is flat.

1. Connect the under-pillow vibrator to the
clock.

2. Insert the mains cable and immediately
change the back-up battery.

The clock does not ring. The clock’s alarm is set to OFF. Set the clock’s alarm to ON.

Changing the back-up battery

1. Disconnect the mains cable from the clock.

2. Unscrew the four corner screws on the rear of the clock.

3. Pull out and remove the alarm set knob.

4. Carefully lift off the clock’s rear cover so that you do not damage the cables.

5. Undo the 9 volt battery from the Velcro and disconnect the snap connector.

6. Connect the new battery in the same manner.

NOTE: Remember to reconnect the mains cable to the clock so that the green LED on the clock
face lights up.

Analoge wekker met kussenvibrator

Onze analoge wekker met kussenvibrator geeft geluidssignalen en activeert de kussenvibrator. De
wekker kan zowel vrijstaand worden gebruikt als in combinatie met ons waarschuwingssysteem Lynx.

Werking wekker

Het uurwerk loopt op een 1,5 V (C) batterij. De kussenvibrator en de wijzerplaatverlichting worden

aangesloten op het lichtnet via de adapter aansluiting, welke zich aan de zijkant van de wekker bevindt

(zie tekening). Het aansluitpunt voor de kussenvibrator vindt u aan de andere zijkant van de wekker.
Een 9 V back-up batterij zorgt ervoor dat u ook gewekt wordt bij stroomuitval.

Wekker in combinatie met Lynx

In combinatie met Lynx Tactum dient u de kussenvibrator aan te sluiten op de lader van de Tactum.
Sluit vervolgens de wekker aan op de lader via het meegeleverde verbindingskabeltje.

In combinatie met de Lynx Flitslamp dient u de kussenvibrator en de wekker beiden aan te sluiten

op de onderzijde van de flitslamp. Gebruik de meegeleverde verbindingskabel voor het aansluiten

van de wekker.

Wekken

Op het ingestelde tijdstip begint de wekker te zoemen en begint de kussenvibrator te trillen totdat

het alarm wordt uitgeschakeld.

Batterijen: Uurwerk: 1 x 1,5 V (C). Levensduur circa 3 jaar.

Back-up batterij t.b.v. kussenvibrator: 1 x 9V (6LR61). Ieder jaar vervangen.
