ONE-YEAR WARRANTY – CARRIER warrants to the user that this produc t will be free from defects of workmanship
under normal use and maintenance for a period of one year from the date of original purchase. CARRIER, thr ough its authorized independent servicing dealers or serv ice stations, will either rep air or replace a defective pro duct (as decided solely by CARRIER) free of charge to the user. For units installed within one mile of a sea water body, Carrier will repair or replace any parts that have failed due to corrosion from salt water. CARRIER may replace any defective part with either a new or remanufactured part, at CARRIER’s sole option.
EXTENDED FOUR-YEAR WARRANTY ON SEALED REFRIGERATION SYSTEM ONLY – During the second thro ugh fifth years after date of original purchase. CARRIER further warrants to the user that the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and connecting tubing will be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use and maintenance. CARRIER will either repair or replace (as decided solely by CARRIER) any defective compressor, condenser, evaporator, or connectin g tu bi ng fre e o f c har ge to the user, including a recharge of r efri gerant for the system if necessary. However, THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT INCLUDE units that are installed within one mile of a seawater body.
LIMITATION OF WARRANTIES – ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES (INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANDTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE) ARE HERBY LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE PERIOD FOR WHICH THE APPLICABLE PRODUCT COMPONENT IS EXPRESSLY WARRANTED HERIN. Some states or provinces do not allo w limi tat io ns on how long an implied warranty l as ts , s o the above limitation may not apply to you. THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES MADE IN THIS WARRANTY ARE EXCLUSIVE AND MAY NOT BE ALTERED, ENLARGED OR CHANGED BY ANY DISTRIBUTOR, DEALER OR OTHER PERSON WHATSOEVER. CARRIER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL PROPERTY OR COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER. Some states or provinces do not allo w the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. All work provided for b y this warranty shall be performed during normal working hours. All replacement parts, whether new or remanufactured, assume as their warranty period only the remaining time period for which the applicable component is expressly warranted herein.

CARRIER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
1. Damage due to failure to perform normal maintenance as outlined in the Owner’s Guide.
2. Instruction on methods of control and use of air conditioning unit after initial installation.
3. Damages or repairs needed as a consequence of faulty install ation or application. This is the responsib ility of the installer.
4. Failure to start due to voltage conditions, blown fuses, open circuit breakers, or any other damages due to the inadequacy or interruption of electrical services.
5. Damage or repairs needed as a consequence of any misapplication, abuse, unauthorized alteration, improper servicing or operation.
6. Damage as a result of floo ds, winds, fires, lightning, acc idents, corrosive environments, or other conditions beyond the control of CARRIER.
7. Damage, after one year of installation, as a resu lt of corrosi on from i nstallat ion or op eration of the pro duct within on e mile of a seawater body.
8. Any parts not supplied or designated by CARRIER.
9. CARRIER products installed outside the continental U.S.A. and Canada.
10. Shipping damage or damage as a result of storing or transporting the unit.
This Warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state or province to province.
IF YOUR UNIT DOES NOT WORK, FOLLOW THESE STEPS IN ORDER:
1. Check the things you can do yourself. These include being sure the air conditioner is plugged in firmly in an appropriate receptacle, check ing the fuse or circuit breaker and ensuring its replacement or rese tting, if necessary, and rereading the instruction book to ensure al l controls are set prop erly. B y doing this you can sav e mone y. Many unnecessary calls result in the servicer doing what the owner can do for himself.

Record Your Model and Serial Numbers
Record in the space provided below the model and serial numbers. Remove the filter and look at the bottom edge of the air conditioner behind the front grille for the model and serial numbers. Reading these numbers may be easier by using a flashlight or by removing the cabinet front as instructed under “Care and Cleaning.”

Normal Sounds
High Pitched Chatter
Today’s high efficient compressors may have a high pitched chatter during the cooling cycle.
Vibration
Unit may vibrate and make noise because of poor wall or window construction or incorrect installation.
Pinging or Swishing
Droplets of water hitting condenser during normal operation may cause “pinging or swishing” sounds.
Gurgle/Hiss
“Gurgling or hissing” noise may be heard due to refrigerant passing through evaporation during normal operation.
Sound of Rushing Air
At the front of the unit, you may hear the sound of rushing air being moved by the fan.
Thermostat Clicking Sound
As cooling systems cycle on and off, you may hear a “clicking” sound.
