With the combination of high sensitivity CMOS sensors and advanced DIGIC imaging processors, the fruit of Canon’s long years as a camera manufacturer, our network security cameras offer superior image quality with rich detail, low noise and faithful colour reproduction.
Powerful Image Processing
The dual image processors – DIGIC DV III and DIGIC NET II – enable seamless capturing, processing, encoding and transmitting of images.* The DIGIC DV III engine, also used in Canon’s Cinema EOS professional movie cameras, allows exceptional video quality, low noise, smooth gradations and vivid and accurate colour reproduction – even in low light conditions. High streaming performance of DIGIC NET II allows simultaneous streaming of 2x H.264 video in variable frame rates for monitoring or recording.

Class Leading Low Light Performance
Considering the importance of recognition ability for surveillance cameras, noise reduction (NR) control and colour reproduction have been particularly enhanced in Canon network cameras. As a result, while striking a balance between noise, resolution and colour reproduction, colour is visible even in low light conditions with excellent minimum luminance. The minimum subject illumination is further improved by turning on Smart Shade Control / Auto SSC.

SSC (Smart Shade Control) is an extremely important function for security purposes that maintains image sharpness when shadows are generated by backlight or other causes. This function is further improved with Auto SSC, which applies histogram analysis to shooting conditions such as backlight scenes and automatically selects optimum exposure level.

Intelligent Functions
Intelligent Functions aid operators in identifying alarming situations, by analysing differences between different areas. It is possible to use up to 15 functions in parallel on one camera. A choice of six different Intelligent Functions include Moving Object Detection, Abandoned Object Detection, Removed Object Detection, Camera Tampering Detection, Passing Detection and Volume Detection. Detected activity can be set to activate recording, uploading images to a server or sending an email notification. By using an SD card you can backup recorded videos in case of cable cut or the network going down.
Enhanced Compatibility with ONVIF v2.2 and Profile S compliance
Canon is a full member of ONVIF – the industry forum dedicated to the development of a global IP-based physical security interface standard. Compliance with the latest ONVIF v2.2 and Profile S makes it convenient to create a solution with ONVIF-complaint video management software. Canon also supports seamless integration through the use of the Canon network camera SDK and HTTP protocol specification.
Easy and Flexible Installation
With multiple power supply options, it is easy to power the Canon network cameras. The Camera Angle of View Setting Tool the angle of the camera by watching the actual visual from a network connected computer. Adjustments can be made intuitively by pressing the pan/tilt buttons that appear on the adjustment window in the direction you want to move the camera. Rotation and zoom can be adjusted using the on-screen sliders, the range for which varies from camera to camera.
