About theLCD Monitor
The LCD monitor is produced with extremely high-precision manufacturing techniques.More than 99.99% of the pixelsoperate tospecification. Less than 0.01% of the pixels may occasionally misfire or appear as red or black dots. This has no effect on the recorded image and does not constitute a malfunction.
Video Format
Please set the camera’s video signal format to the one used in your region before using it with a TV monitor (p.90).

Disconnect the battery charger and compact power adapter from both the camera and the power outletafter rechargingor when not in use toavoid fire andother hazards.

Do not trigger the flash in close proximity tohumanoranimaleyes. Exposure tothe intense light produced bythe flash may damageeyesight.
In particular, remain at leastone meter (39 inches) away from infants when using the flash.
Keep objects that are sensitive to magnetic fields(such as credit cards) away from the speaker of the camera.
Such items may lose data or stop working.
Exercise due caution when screwingon the separately soldwide converter, tele-converter,close-up lens and conversion lens adapter.
Ifthey loosen, falloffand shatter, the glass shards may cause injury.

The flash maybe damaged and emit smoke or noise.The resultingheatbuild-up could damage the flash.

Doing so could result in burns.

Preventing Malfunctions

Avoid Strong Magnetic Fields
Never place the camera in close proximity toelectricmotors orother equipment generating strong electromagneticfields.
Exposure to strong magnetic fields may cause malfunctions or corrupt image data.
Avoid Condensation Related Problems
Whenmoving the equipment rapidly between hot and coldtemperatures, you canavoid condensation by placing the equipment inanairtight,resealable plastic bag and letting itadjust to temperature changes slowly before removingitfrom thebag.
Moving the equipmentrapidly between hot and cold temperatures maycause condensation (waterdroplets) to form on its external and internal surfaces.
If Condensation Forms Inside the Camera
Stop usingthe camera immediately.
Continued use may damage the equipment.Remove the memory cardand batteries or compactpower adapter from the camera and wait until the moisture evaporates completelybefore resuming use.

Histogram Function
The histogram is a graph thatallows you to judge the brightness of the image. The greater the bias toward the left in the graph, the darker the image. The greater the bias toward theright, the brighter the image.If the image is too dark,adjustthe exposure compensation to a positive value. Similarly, adjust the exposure compensation to anegative value if the image is too bright (p.56).

My Camera Menu
The camera's start-up image and start-up sound, operation sounds,self-timer sounds, and shutter sounds are called “My Camera settings”. You can also use the supplied software to upload your computer’simages and sounds to the camera.
