DESCRIPTION

The CV-800 series of Serial to Wiegand Converters, provides a flexible and efficient
way to integrate a telephone entry system with an access control system. The CV-800
also monitors the postal lock switch. When the switch is closed the CV-800 will send a
card number in 26 bit Wiegand format to the access control panel.

The CV-800 works with virtually all card access systems and several phone entry
systems. Building security is greatly enhanced as the CV-800 allows the access control
system to control the building entrance – not the telephone entry system.

In addition, the CV-800 will provide the building owner and manager with a
complete audit trail of all persons entering the building, as well as a record of
residents granting visitor access via the telephone entry system.

APPLICATIONS

For new construction or retrofit applications, the CV-800 is ideal for multi-unit
residential, commercial office, or assisted living facilities utilizing stand-alone
telephone entry and access control systems.

CV-800 SERIAL TO WIEGAND INTERFACE

ARCHITECTS /ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONS

Integration of the telephone entry system and access control system shall be via a
Camden Door Controls model CV-800 Serial to Wiegand Converter.

The unit shall be connected to the access control system as a standard Wiegand
card reader, and the telephone access system via a RS232 connector. No device
settings are to be required. An audit of both visitor entries and visitor access
granted by building occupants shall be recorded and reported by the access
control system. The Serial to Wiegand Converter shall be powered by a 9 to
14VDC rated power supply.
