TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL OPERATION
As you become familiar with your waffle maker, we want to share a few suggestions.
• Use approximately ½ cup of batter for making a waffle.
• Preheating the waffle maker completely (as indicated by the illuminated
No Peek
TM
Ready light) helps prevent waffles from sticking to the plates.
• The level of browning will vary widely depending on the type of batter
used. Use batters with higher sugar content for darker waffles, and batter with lower sugar content for lighter waffles.
• Nonstick cooking sprays are not recommended for this
waffle maker. Spraying the waffle plates with nonstick cooking
spray may build up a residue on the hot plates.
WARNING
6
• If making waffles for several people, place the waffles in a baking dish
and keep them warm at 200˚F. Think beyond traditional waffles for breakfast. For example, enjoy savory waffles for dinner or chocolate waffles topped with berries for dessert.

Before Cleaning

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My waffle maker is not heating up; what am I doing wrong? Be sure the power cord is plugged into a suitable outlet. See Electrical
Requirements on page 3.
How do I know which shade of browning to choose? If you like
waffles that are lightly browned but still cooked throughout, choose the Light setting, and if you like a golden brown waffle, choose the Medium setting. For those who want a deep golden brown and crispy waffle, choose the Dark setting.
The waffles I made had irregular edges. What happened? This could be caused by a couple of factors. First, check to make sure you are using enough waffle batter. The waffle maker takes about ½ cup of batter per batch. And, secondly, if the batter is thick, try thinning the batter or using a nonstick safe utensil to spread the batter evenly over the bottom plate so that all of the corners are filled.
My waffles stuck to the plates. What did I do wrong? Be sure you preheat the waffle maker before adding the batter. Turn the knob to the desired level of browning and then wait until the No Peek
TM
Ready light illuminates. Also, avoid spraying the nonstick plates with cooking spray. This can create a residue on the hot plates that causes sticking over time.
