You can adjust the volume of your caller’s voice to high or low.
Using the switch above the number 2 button on the handset keypad move the switch to the right

hand position for HIGH volume and the left hand position for LOW volume.
To switch the handset ringer on and off
ON

Using the switch on the underside of the base set the switch to ON. When you receive a call the handset will ring and the in call indicator light will flash.
If you do not want the handset to ring when you receive a call, set the switch to the OFF position. The in call indicator light will still flash when you receive calls and you can make calls as normal.
Wall mounting
Slide out and rotate the handset catch 180 degrees and then slide it back in. This will keep the handset firmly in place when wall mounted.
There are two keyhole slots on the back of the base for wall mounting.
Drill two holes using the wall mounting template. Ensure that you do not drill into any hidden wiring or pipes. Insert two wall plugs and then insert a screw into each hole.
Position the product onto the screws and drop down to secure.
General information
Guarantee
Your BT Duet Mini is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.
Subject to the terms listed below the guarantee will provide for the repair of, or at BT’s or its agent’s discretion the option to replace the
BT Duet Mini, or any component thereof, which is identified as faulty or below standard, or fails as a result of inferior workmanship or materials. Products over 28 days old from the date of purchase may be replaced with a refurbished or repaired product.
The conditions of this guarantee are:
• The guarantee shall only apply to defects that occur within the 12 month guarantee period.
• Proof of purchase is provided.
• The equipment is returned to the

point of purchase.
• This guarantee does not cover any faults or defects caused by accidents, misuse, fair wear and tear, neglect, tampering with the equipment, or any attempt at adjustment or repair other than by approved agents.
• This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
Within the 12 month guarantee period:
In the unlikely event of a defect occurring, please return the product, with the receipt, to the place of purchase.
Outside of the 12 month guarantee period:
If your product needs repair after the guarantee period has ended, the repair must meet the approval requirements for connection to the telephone network. We recommend that you contact BT’s approved repair agent, TecLogic on 01672
564444 or a local qualified repairer.
If you have to return your BT Duet Mini
Pack the unit securely, preferably in the original packaging. All parts must be returned. We cannot take responsibility for goods damaged in transit.
Technical information
How many telephones can you have?
All items of telephone equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), which is used to calculate the number of items which may be connected to any one telephone line. Your BT Duet Mini has a REN of 1. A total REN of 4 is allowed, if the total REN of 4 is exceeded, the telephones may not ring. With different telephone types there is no guarantee of ringing, even when the REN is less than 4.
Switchboard compatibility
This product is intended for use within the UK for connection to the public telephone network and compatible switchboards, which support tone dialling and time break recall. If in doubt please consult your service provider.

Safety information
General
Simply clean your BT Duet Mini with a damp (not wet) cloth, or an anti-static wipe. Never use household polish as this may damage the product. Never use a dry cloth as this may cause a static shock.
Do not open the BT Duet Mini. This could expose you to high voltages or other risks.
Environmental
Do not expose to direct sunlight.
We recommend that you do not place the product on antique/ veneered wood to avoid damage.
Do not stand your product on carpets or other surfaces which generate fibres, or place it in locations preventing the free flow of air over its surfaces.
Do not submerge any part of your product in water and do not use it in damp or humid conditions, such as bathrooms.
Do not expose your product to fire, explosive or other hazardous conditions.

Setting up
Plan the location of your BT Duet Mini
Situate your BT Duet Mini close enough to a phone socket so that the line cord will reach.
You can wall-mount your product,for instructions see the ‘Wall mounting’ section.
Connect the handset

cord to the base
Plug the shortest end of the coiled cord into the handset and the longer end into the back of the base as shown below. Route the cord through the grove.
Connect the

telephone line cord
Plug the telephone line cord into the base unit and plug the other end into the telephone wall socket.
Your BT Duet Mini is now ready for use
Using the telephone
Making and ending calls
To make a call
Lift the handset and wait for the dial tone.
Dial the telephone number.
To end a call
Replace the handset.
To receive a call
When the telephone rings the incoming call light will also flash.
Simply pick up the handset.
To redial the last number called
Lift the handset and wait for the dial tone.
Press the REDIAL button.
The last number called will be dialled automatically.
Secrecy
When on a call you can talk to someone in the same room without your caller hearing.
To switch secrecy on and off
During a call:
Press and hold the
SECRECY button.
While the SECRECY button is being held down you can talk to someone in the room without your caller hearing you but you will be able to hear your caller.
Release the SECRECY button to return to your caller.
