TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
ISSUE
I hear frequent crackling sounds.
Unit will not turn on.
Little or no mist is produced.
RESOLUTION
Occasional crackling is normal; however, frequent or constant crackling may be caused by one of the issues below:
The FILTER needs to be cleaned. Refer to Cleaning the Filter (see page 11).
The FILTER is not completely dry after cleaning. Let it air dry until the crackling stops, or use the Drying Mode function to ensure the FILTER is completely dry (see page 12).
Foreign materials are caught between the FILTER collection plates. Carefully remove any debris. Be careful, do not bend the collection plates.
Ensure the FILTER is properly inserted in the compartment and that the unit is properly plugged into a live wall outlet.
Fill WATER TANKS (see page 8).
14. The unit should be situated away from direct sunlight or heat sources such as radiators, electric heaters, heat registers, stoves or other units (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Avoid placing on top of stereo equipment that radiates heat.
15. Do not overload the electrical outlet. Use only the power source as indicated.
16. Never block the air openings of the unit with materials, such as clothing, plastic bags or papers, or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked.
17. Do not carry this unit by its cord or use the cord as a handle.
18. Never operate this unit if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. If the unit’s supply cord or plug is damaged, do not attempt to fix it yourself.
19. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit. Incorrect repair can cause risk of electric shock or injury to persons when the unit is used.
20. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use this unit with any solid-state speed-control device.
21. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
22. This unit is intended for household use only and NOT for commercial or industrial use. Do not use this unit outdoors. For indoor operation only.
23. Use correct electrical supply voltage as indicated on the unit’s name plate.
24. This unit has a polarized two-pin plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in an outlet only one way.

25. Turn the unit off before unplugging from an electrical outlet.
26. Do not allow children to play with any plastic bags that accompany this unit. Plastic bags may present a hazard to young children.
27. The edges of the stainless-steel collection plates are sharp. Do not rub your hands on them.
28. Do not touch the stainless-steel collection plates after removing the filter. A small amount of static charge may still be present if the unit was recently turned off.
29. Inspect the stainless-steel collection plates after each cleaning to ensure that they are not bent and touching each other. Performance may suffer if the stainless-steel collection plates touch each other.
30. Make sure that the filter is fully inserted into the filter slots; otherwise, the unit will not operate.
IMPORTANT
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this product has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way.
5. Carefully carry the BASE to a sink or bathtub and drain any remaining water.
6. Clean mineral deposits on the base by partially filling the WATER RESERVOIR with a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water enough to cover the deposits. Leave this solution to soak for one hour. Empty the solution, then use a cotton swab to gently loosen buildup. Remove base scale by wiping the base with a cloth dampened with undiluted white vinegar.
7. Wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Caution:
• Do not rinse the BASE under running water.
• Do not submerge the BASE in water.
• Do not touch the ULTRASONIC DISK (see Fig. 1) with bare fingers as any fingerprints or other residue can affect mist output.
• Do not scrub or scrape the ULTRASONIC DISK (see Fig. 1).
• Failure to keep this unit clean from mineral deposits normally contained in the water supply will affect the efficiency of operation of this unit.
8. Reattach the MAIN HOUSING to the BASE by aligning the LATCHES on the MAIN HOUSING to the BASE and lock in place.
9. Replace the WATER TANKS and FILTER.
STORAGE
Dry the unit completely before storing. DO NOT store with water inside the WATER TANKS or the WATER RESERVOIR.
