HONDA GROM (2014) ALIEN HEAD 2 / SHORTMEG 2
FULL EXHAUST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Check Package Contents: The Alien Head 2™ or ShortMeg 2™
system package contents include:
1. One Header Mounting Flange
2. One Header
3. One Alien Head 2™ or ShortMeg 2™ Muffler
4. One Muffler Mounting Bracket
5. Package Containing Springs, Spring-puller, and
Mounting Hardware
If any parts are missing, please contact Brock’s Performance.
Remove the Stock Exhaust System:
Be sure the bike is
completely cool before starting the installation.
Remove the muffler
heat shield bolt (1) and slide shield forward to release. Loosen the
exhaust clamp (2) that secures the muffler to header connection.
Remove the two muffler-mount bolts (3 & 4) and carefully remove
the muffler. Remove the bolt (5) holding the rear of the header.
Support the stock header and remove the header nuts (6 & 7) to
completely remove header.
Note: The stock exhaust gasket will
be reused, but inspect and replace if necessary.
Install Muffler Mounting Bracket: Remove the two bolts (8 & 9)
holding the brake reservoir to the rear set. Position the bracket on
the outside of the reservoir and reinstall the stock bolts (10 ft-lb.)
Install the Brock’s Performance Exhaust System: Using the
supplied nuts (10 & 11), install the header-mounting flange. Do
not over tighten; max recommended torque (10 ft-lb.) Install the
header and attach spring from flange to header. Install the muffler
onto the header and use the supplied hardware to secure to the
muffler-mounting bracket (12) loosely. Attach the spring from the
muffler to header and adjust the system by hand as required to
ensure proper clearance. Tighten the muffler-mounting bolt securely
to the bracket (10 ft-lb.)
Check, Clean, Ride: Before starting the motorcycle check for proper
clearance between all components (suspension, bodywork, engine,
etc.) Wipe the entire exhaust system with rubbing alcohol to remove
any oil/fingerprints prior to starting. Enjoy your new Brock’s
Performance exhaust system.
