The Oral-B Professional Care 8500 OxyJet Center is a dentist-inspired oral-care system for outstanding cleaning, gum care, whiter teeth and freshening.
The Oral-B Professional Care toothbrush delivers outstanding performance:
• 3D oscillating-pulsating technology – for outstanding cleaning and gum care
• Innovative accessories and brushheads to clean and polish teeth as well as freshen your tongue and mouth
• Brushing modes let you customize your brushing routine to address your specific needs
• Premium handle design and ergonomics for greater comfort and control
The Oral-B OxyJet irrigator mixes air into water in the form of micro-bubbles. These micro-bubbles in the water stream have been shown in laboratory tests to fight plaque bacteria. At the same time, the irrigator removes remaining food particles from between your teeth and massages your gums. Always use the irrigator after brushing your teeth.
Please read the use instructions carefully before first use.

Using your toothbrush
Connecting and charging
Your toothbrush has a waterproof handle, is electrically safe and is designed for use in the bathroom.
• Plug the appliance into an electrical outlet and place the toothbrush handle
• The green charge indicator is being charged. If you then use your brush and place it back on the charger base, the green charging light will again flash to let you know it is charging.
• When the handle is fully charged, the green charge indicator light shines continuously. A full charge takes at least 16 hours and enables approximately two weeks of regular brushing (twice a day, 2 minutes).
• The red charge indicator rechargeable battery is low. Now it is time to recharge your toothbrush.
• For everyday use, the toothbrush handle can be stored on the charger base to maintain it at full power. Overcharging is impossible.
• To maintain the maximum capacity of the rechargeable battery, refrain from placing the handle on the charger base and fully discharge it through regular use at least every 6 months.

Brushing modes
Your toothbrush offers different brushing modes to best meet your individual needs:
«Clean» – Exceptional mouth cleaning. «Sensitive» – Gentle, yet thorough cleaning for sensitive
areas.
«Polish» – Exceptional polishing and natural whitening for
occasional or everyday use.
How to switch between modes:
• Push the on/off button
4 once, and your toothbrush
automatically starts in the «Clean» mode.
13
Page 14
• To shift from the «Clean» mode to the «Sensitive» mode, push the on/off button once more.
• Pushing the on/off button again will bring you from «Sensitive» to «Polish» mode.
• To turn your brush off from the «Polish» mode, push the on/ off button once more.
• If you wish to turn your toothbrush off in the «Clean» or «Sensitive» mode, push and hold down the on/off button until the motor stops.
Brushing technique
• Attach one of the brushheads to the handle. They can be used with any kind of toothpaste.
• To avoid splashing, guide the brushhead to your teeth before switching the appliance on.
• Guide the brushhead slowly from tooth to tooth.
• Hold the brushhead in place for a few seconds before moving on to the next tooth.
• Brush the gums as well as the teeth, first the outsides, then the insides, finally the chewing surfaces.
• Do not press too hard or scrub, simply let the brush do all the work.
Pressure Sensor
For optimal brushing results Oral-B Professional Care has a pressure control feature to help you brush gently. This helps protect your gums from excessive brushing and makes your toothbrush easy to operate. If too much pressure is applied, the oscillating movement of the brushhead will continue but the pulsation will stop. In addition to feeling it, you can also hear a different sound.

Professional Timer
A short stuttering sound at 30-second intervals, which you can hear and feel, reminds you to brush the four quadrants of your mouth equally for a thorough consistent clean.
2-Minute Timer
A long stuttering sound indicates when the dentist recommended 2-minute brushing time has been reached.
Both timers memorise the elapsed brushing time, even when the handle is briefly switched off during brushing. Only when pausing longer than 30 sec. the timer resets to the initial starting point.
Page 15
In the first days of using the toothbrush, your gums may bleed slightly. In general, bleeding should stop after a few days. Should it persist after two weeks, please consult your dentist or hygienist. If you have sensitive teeth and gums, Oral-B recommends using the «Sensitive» mode.
Brushheads and accessories
The Oral-B Professional Care toothbrush offers you a variety of brushheads and accessories, allowing you to select those which best meet your individual needs. They are all designed for daily use:
I Oral-B Precision Clean brushhead The Oral-B Precision Clean brushhead features
outstanding oscillating-rotating action to effectively clean your teeth, clean along the gumline and in hard-to-reach areas such as behind teeth. The compact round brushhead surrounds each tooth for a thorough clean. The green Precision Clean bristles bend, enabling both gentle brushing and deep reach of the blue Interdental Tips between teeth. Apply the brushing technique described in the «Brushing technique» section.
II Oral-B Pro White brushhead The Oral-B Pro White brushhead is specifically designed to
polish and naturally whiten your teeth by removing stains that can come from coffee, tea and tobacco. It features the oscillating-rotating head action of the Oral-B Precision Clean brushhead to effectively clean teeth, combined with the special polishing cup for natural brightening. Apply the same brushing technique described in the «Brushing technique» section. We do not recommend using the Oral-B Pro White brushhead with braces. Children under 12 should not use the Oral-B Pro White brushhead.
Both brushheads feature blue INDICATOR bristles to help you monitor brushhead replacement need. With thorough brushing, twice a day for two minutes, the blue colour will fade halfway approximately within 3 months, signaling it is time to change the brushhead.
III Interspace brushhead The Interspace brushhead is designed for cleaning
between teeth as well as around bridges, crowns and implants. To use, position the brushhead at a 45 degree angle to the gumline. Slowly guide the brushhead along the gumline, pausing between teeth for excellent results.

IV Tongue Freshener
The Tongue Freshener helps freshen breath. It is designed
to help remove oral malodour and can be used every day – before or after brushing. You can use mouthwash with the Tongue Freshener. Attach it to the handle, turn the appliance on and drag it across the tongue from back to front. We recommend using the «Sensitive» mode for enhanced control during use. Rinse after use. Replace the Tongue Freshener when the material becomes worn.
V Interdental Cleaner
The Interdental Cleaner effectively cleans between the
teeth and helps keep your gums healthy. It should be used before brushing. Break one pick cleaner off the base and insert it into the slot in the neck of the white pick holder. Attach the Interdental Cleaner to the handle and turn the appliance on. Depending on which part of your mouth you are cleaning, the pick holder should be adjusted by turning it, so that the blunt side always faces your gums. Guide the cleaner between your teeth and clean systematically from space to space. We recommend using the «Sensitive» mode for enhanced control during use. A pick cleaner can be used approximately two to three times until it becomes too soft to effectively fit and clean between the teeth. Replacement cleaners are available separately.
Oral-B Professional Care replacement brushheads and accessories are available in stores that sell Oral-B products.
16
After use
• Rinse your brushhead or accessory thoroughly under running water for several seconds with the handle switched on.
• Switch off the handle and remove the brushhead or accessory from the handle. Clean both parts separately under running water, then wipe them dry before you reassemble the brush and put the handle on the charger base.

2. Turn on the irrigator by pressing the on/off switch doing so, the handle switch position = water stop.
