of this Tool Technical Data manual and the separate Safety and Operating Instruction Manual which
come with this tool. Failure to do so could result in you or others in the working area to be seriously injured.

m WARNING! Eye protection in accordance with 89/686/EEC, and with equal or greater grade than defined
in EN166 should be used. However all aspects of operators work, environment and other type/s of machinery
being used, should also be considered when selecting any personal protection equipment.
Note: Non-side shielded spectacles and face shields alone do not provide adequate protection.

m WARNING! To prevent accidental injuries:

Never place a hand or any other part of the body in fastener discharge area of tool.

•

Never point tool at yourself or anyone whether it contains fasteners or not.

•

Never engage in horseplay.

•

Never pull the trigger unless the nose is directed towards the work.

•

Always handle the tool with care.

•

This tool is intended to be used for fastening metal connecting plates to wood in construction applications. DO
NOT USE for fastening harder materials which could cause buckling of the fasteners and damage to the tool. If
you are unsure of the suitability of this tool for certain applications, please contact your local sales office.

•

Do not pull the trigger or depress the trip mechanism whilst loading the tool.

•

To prevent accidental actuation and possible injury, always disconnect air supply:

1. Before making adjustments. 2. When servicing the tool. 3. When clearing a jam. 4. When tool is not in use.

5. When moving to a different work area, as accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury.

•

Read the additional Safety & Operating instructions booklet before using tool.

•

Do not use oxygen and combustible gases as an energy source for pneumatically operated tools.

OPERATING YOUR MCN NAILER

TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY FROM FASTENERS AND FLYING DEBRIS WHEN INSTALLING METAL CONNECTORS
USING THE MCN NAILER:

• Use only genuine BOSTITCH metal connector nails.

• Use only one stick of metal connector nails at a time.

• Metal connector nails are not designed to penetrate metal. When installing metal connectors, always place the
exposed point of the metal connector nail into the metal connector’s pre-formed hole, and orient so the nail is
perpendicular to the hole before attempting to drive a fastener.

TOOL OPERATION
NOTE: Although this is not the only pneumatic tool offered by BOSTITCH that operates sequentially, its

operation is unique from all other BOSTITCH tools. The moveable nose, which acts as the contact trip, is in the
“depressed” position at rest to allow visibility of the nail points used for positive placement. When the tip of the
nail is placed in the preformed metal connector hole and the trigger is pulled, the moveable nose moves out from
the tool to detect the work surface. If the moveable nose does not detect the work surface close to
the nose of the tool, the tool will not actuate.

Loading Nails (Figs 3-7):

1. Hold nailer with magazine tilted downward. Insert stick of nails from rear of magazine (Fig 3). The MCN250-E
has three separate nail channels for 40, 50 and 60 series nails (Figs 4 - 6). Never mix different length nails in
the magazine. Slide nails all the way to the front of magazine.

2. Engaging Pusher: Pull pusher towards rear of magazine beyond the last nail , then release to engage pusher
to the strip of nails (Fig 7).

Removing Nails (Fig 8-12)

1. Depress the pusher tab to disengage pusher from the nails (Fig 8). Slowly slide pusher forwards past the
nails to the nosepiece (Fig 9).

2. Remove nails by releasing the pusher spring and sliding nails backwards (Fig 10).

3. Depress the magazine tab and slide nails past magazine tab and out the magazine. (Fig 11 & 12).

DIRECTIONAL EXHAUST DEFLECTOR (Fig 13)

The adjustable exhaust deflector can be rotated unto any desired position by hand without the use of hands.

CONTACT TRIP HOUSING ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (Fig 14 & 15)

Never TAMPER with or disassemble contact trip (CT) housing assembly, it can cause SEVERE injury to the user
or to bystanders. Contact trip housing must be replaced as a COMPLETE ASSEMBLY only.

Cet outil est destiné à être utilisé pour la fixation de plaques de métal sur bois dans les applications de
construction. NE PAS L’UTILISER pour la fixation de matériaux plus durs qui pourraient voiler les attaches et

UTILISATION DE VOTRE CLOUEUR MCN

POUR ÉVITER TOUT RISQUE DE BLESSURE CAUSÉ PAR LES FIXATIONS ET LES DÉBRIS PROJETÉS LORS DE
L’INSTALLATION DE CONNECTEURS MÉTALLIQUES AVEC LE CLOUEUR MCN :

• N’utilisez que les clous BOSTITCH authentiques pour connecteurs métalliques.

• N’utilisez qu’un bâton de clous pour connecteurs métalliques à la fois.

• Les clous pour connecteurs métalliques ne sont pas conçus pour pénétrer dans le métal. Pour l’installation
de connecteurs métalliques, placez toujours la pointe découverte du connecteur métallique dans les trous
préformés des connecteurs métalliques, et positionnez-la de façon à ce que le clou soit perpendiculaire au trou
avant d’essayer d’enfoncer un clou de fixation.

FONCTIONNEMENT DE L’OUTIL
NOTE: Bien que cet appareil ne soit pas le seul outil pneumatique proposé par BOSTITCH qui fonctionne

par déclenchement séquentiel, son fonctionnement est différent de tous les autres outils BOSTITCH. Le nez
mobile, qui fonctionne comme le déclenchement par contact, se trouve en position « enfoncée » au repos pour
permettre une bonne visibilité de la pointe des clous et un placement correct. Lorsque l’extrémité du clou est
placée dans le trou préformé du connecteur métallique et que la gâchette est enclenchée, le nez amovible sort
de l’appareil et détecte la surface de travail. Si le nez amovible ne détecte pas la surface de travail, l’outil ne
pourra pas fonctionner.

Chargement de l’outil (Fig 3-7):

1. Maintenez le cloueur avec le magasin incliné vers le bas. Insérez la bande de clous à partir de l’arrière
du magasin (Fig. 3). Le MCN250-E dispose de trois rainures de clous séparées pour les clous de 40, 50 et
60 (Figs 4 - 6). Ne jamais mélanger différentes longueur de clous dans le magasin. Faites glisser les clous
complètement vers l’avant du magasin.

2. Enclenchement du poussoir : Tirez le poussoir vers l’arrière du magasin au-delà du dernier clou puis relâchez-
le pour enclencher la bande de clous dans le poussoir (Fig. 7)

Enlèvement des clous (Fig 8-12)

1. Tirez sur le poussoir pour le séparer des clous (Fig 8). Faites doucement glisser le poussoir en avant après les clous vers

le nez (Fig 9).

2. Retirez les clous en relâchant le ressort du poussoir et en faisant glisser les clous vers l’arrière (Fig 10).

3. Relâchez le levier du chargeur et faites glisser les clous à l’arrière de celui-ci et hors du chargeur. (Fig 11 & 12).

DÉFLECTEUR DE DIRECTION D’ÉCHAPPEMENT D’AIR (Fig 13)

Le déflecteur d’échappement d’air réglable peut être tourné dans la direction requise manuellement, sans outils.

CONTACT TRIP HOUSING ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (Fig 14 & 15)

Ne MODIFIEZ ou ne démontez jamais l’assemblage du boîtier du déclenchement par contact (CT) ; cela peut
GRAVEMENT blesser l’utilisateur ou les personnes se trouvant à proximité. Seul un ASSEMBLAGE COMPLET du
boîtier de déclenchement par contact peut être remplacé.

Dieses Werkzeug wurde zur Befestigung von Metallverbindungen auf Holz für Arbeiten im Bauhandwerk
entwickelt. Dieses Werkzeug sollte NICHT zur Befestigung härterer Werkstoffe verwendet werden, da dies
dazu führen kann, dass sich die Befestigungselemente verbiegen und das Werkzeug selbst beschädigt wird.

•

Nicht den Abzug oder den Auslösemechanismus während des Ladens des Gerätes ziehen.

Um das versehentliche Auslösen und mögliche Unfälle zu vermeiden, ist die Luftzufuhr immer abzukoppeln:

1. Vor dem Ausführen von Justierungen. 2. Bei der Wartung des Gerätes. 3. Beim Beseitigen von Blockaden.

4. Wenn das Gerät nicht verwendet wird. 5. Beim Wechsel in einen anderen Arbeitsbereich, da das Gerät
versehentlich ausgelöst werden kann und möglicherweise Verletzungen verursacht werden.

• Nur original BOSTITCH Metallverbinder-Nägel verwenden.

• Nur jeweils einen Streifen Metallverbinder-Nägel auf einmal benutzen.

• Metallverbinder-Nägel sind nicht zum Eindringen in Metall ausgelegt. Beim Anbringen von Metallverbindern
stets den entblößten Teil des Verbindungsnagels in das vorgeformte Loch des Metallverbinders setzen
und so ausrichten, dass sich der Nagel senkrecht zum Loch befindet bevor versucht wird, einen Verbinder
einzutreiben.

WERKZEUGFUNKTION
ACHTUNG: Obwohl dies nicht das einzige Druckluftgerät im Sortiment von BOSTITCH ist, das sequentiell

arbeitet, ist die Funktionsweise jedoch einzigartig gegenüber allen anderen Bostitch Werkzeugen. Die als
Kontaktmündung fungierende bewegliche Mündung befindet sich im Ruhezustand in der gleichen Position
wie im “gedrückten” Zustand, damit die Nagelspitzen gut sichtbar sind und dadurch ein korrektes Setzen
ermöglicht wird. Wenn die Nagelspitze in das vorgeformte Loch des Metallverbinders gesetzt und der Auslöser
betätigt wird, dann tritt die bewegliche Mündung zum Erkennen der Arbeitsfläche aus dem Gerät aus. Wenn die
bewegliche Mündung auf keinen Widerstand stößt, wird das Gerät nicht ausgelöst.

Nägel einlegen (Abb. 3-7):

1. Halten Sie den Nagler mit dem Magazin nach unten geneigt. Den Nagelstreifen von hinten in das Magazin einsetzen
(Bild 3). Der MCN250-E hat drei separate Nagelkanäle für 40, 50 und 60 mm lange Nägel (Bild 4 - 6). Setzen Sie niemals
Nägel unterschiedlicher Länge in ein Magazin ein. Schieben Sie die Nägel im Magazin nach vorn.

2. Schieber-Arretierung: Ziehen Sie den Schieber hinter den letzten Nagel im Magazin zurück und lassen ihn dann
los, damit die Nägel fest eingespannt sind (Bild 7).

Nägel entfernen (Abb. 8-12)

1. Die Drückerlasche drücken, um den Drücker von den Nägeln zu trennen (Abb. 8). Den Drücker langsam an den
Nägeln vorbei bis an das Mündungsteil schieben (Abb. 9).

2. Zum Entfernen der Nägel die Drückerfeder lösen und die Nägel nach hinten schieben (Abb. 10).

3. Den Magazinreiter drücken und die Nägel das Magazin entlang heraus schieben (Abb. 11 u. 12).

RICHTUNGSVERSTELLBARER AUSPUFFDEFLEKTOR (Abb. 13)

Der verstellbare Auspuffdeflektor lässt sich manuell ohne Zuhilfenahme von Werkzeugen in die gewünschte
Stellung drehen.

ERSETZEN DES KONTAKTMÜNDUNGSGEHÄUSES (Abb. 14 u. 15)

NIEMALS Eingriffe an Bauteilen des Kontaktmündungsgehäuses (CT) vornehmen oder dieses versuchen
auseinanderzubauen, da dies zu schweren Verletzungen des Bedieners und umstehender Personen führen kann.
Das Kontaktmündungsgehäuse darf nur als VOLLSTÄNDIGES BAUTEIL ersetzt werden.
