	Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled:
	“USING THE UNIT SAFELY”and “IMPORTANT NOTES”
	(supplied on a separate sheet). These sections provide	Italiano

	of the unit.

1. AC Adaptor Jack

Accepts connection of an AC Adaptor (PSA series; optional).

By using an AC Adaptor, you can play without being concerned about how much battery power you have left.

*Use only the specified AC adaptor (PSA series), and connect it to an AC outlet of the correct voltage. Do not use any other AC adaptor, since this may cause malfunction.

*If the AC adaptor is connected while power is on, the power supply is drawn from the AC adaptor.

*We recommend that you keep batteries installed in the unit even though you’ll be powering it with the AC adaptor. That way, you’ll be able to continue a performance even if the cord of the AC adaptor gets accidently disconnected from the unit.

2. CHECK Indicator

This indicator shows whether the effect is on or off, and also doubles as the battery check indicator. The indicator lights when the effect is on.

*If you’re powering the unit with a battery and the CHECK indicator goes dim—or doesn’t light at all—when you

try to turn the effect on, the battery is near depletion and should be replaced. For instructions on changing the battery, refer to “Changing the Battery” (p. 10).

*The CHECK indicator shows whether the effect is being applied or not. It does not indicate whether the power to the device is on or not.

3. OUTPUT Jacks A (MONO)/B

These output jacks can be connected to an amplifier or another effects unit.

*Use the OUTPUT A jack when you want to use monaural output.

*The output will differ depending on the settings for the [MODE] knob and [SHIFT] knob. For details, refer to “Description of Each Mode” (p. 6–p. 9).

4. INPUT Jack

This jack accepts signals coming from a guitar or other musical instrument, or another effects unit.

*The INPUT jack doubles as the power switch. Power to the unit is turned on when you plug into the INPUT jack; the power is turned off when the cable is unplugged. To prevent unnecessary battery consumption, be sure to disconnect the plug from the INPUT jack when not using the effects unit.

5. EXP Jack

Connect an expression pedal (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L/FV-500H; sold separately) here.

Depressing the pedal changes the amount of pitch shift.

Pitch shifting is activated when you step on the pedal. When you release your foot from the pedal (minimum value) pitch changes become invalid.

*Set the Minimum Volume of the EV-5, FV-500L/FV-500H to the minimum value (0).

*If not set to the minimum value, things won’t work correctly.

6. Pedal Switch

Pressing this switch will turn the effect on/off.

7. Thumbscrew

When this screw is loosened, the pedal will open, allowing you to change the battery.

*When operating on battery power only, the unit’s indicator will become dim when battery power gets too low.

Replace the battery as soon as possible. For the procedure, refer to “Changing the Battery” (p. 10).

8. [MODE] Knob

Used to switch among the HARMONY (Major, minor), PITCH SHIFTER, DETUNE, and S-BEND modes.

For information on how the various knobs function within each mode, refer to “Description of Each Mode” (p. 6–p. 9).

9. [KEY] Knob ([FALL TIME] Knob)

Sets the key to play in when using the HARMONY (Major, minor) mode.

*If the key for the song being performed is set incorrectly, the harmonies that are produced may not be at the right pitch.

When in the S-BEND mode, this adjusts the amount of time it is to take for the pitch to transition from the set pitch back to the original pitch (the FALL time).

10. [SHIFT] Knob

When in the HARMONY (Major, minor) mode Sets the pitch for the harmonies.

For details, refer to“Description of Each Mode” (p. 6–p. 9).

When in the PITCH SHIFTER/DETUNE/S-BEND modes Sets the amount of pitch shifting.

For details, refer to“Description of Each Mode”(p. 6–p. 9).

11. [BALANCE] Knob (RISE TIME Knob)

This Adjusts the output balance between the direct sound and the effect sound.

When in the S-BEND mode, it adjusts the amount of time it is to take to transition to the set pitch (the RISE time).

*To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices, always turn down the volume, and turn off the power on all devices before making any connections.

*Some connection cables contain resistors. Do not use cables that incorporate resistors for connecting to this unit. The use of such cables can cause the sound level to be extremely low, or impossible to hear. For information on cable specifications, contact the manufacturer of the cable.

*Inserting a plug into the Input Jack will automatically switch the unit on.

*Before connecting or disconnecting any patch cords, be sure all the volume controls in your system are set to minimum.

*Use only the specified expression pedal (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L/FV-500H; sold separately). By connecting any other expression pedals, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to the unit.

*Once the connections have been completed, turn on power to your various devices in the order specified. By turning on devices in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to speakers and other devices.

When powering up:	Turn on the power to your
	guitar amp last.
When powering down:	Turn off the power to your
	guitar amp first.

*This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval (a few seconds) after power up is required before the unit will operate normally.

Description of Each Mode

HARMONY

Adds effect-processed sound (maximum of two sounds) to the input sound, thus creating three-voice harmonies.

*Use only for single notes, not chords.

*Using a tuner such as the optional TU-12EX or TU-3 to make sure your instruments are properly tuned. Tune after setting the reference pitch A4 to 440 Hz.

1.Using the [KEY] knob and [MODE] knob (Major, minor), select the key you’re going to perform in.

2.Using the [SHIFT] knob, select the pitch for the harmonies.

Outputs a sound that’s been pitch shifted up or down by up to two octaves.

Changing the Battery

When the CHECK indicator goes dim or no longer lights while an effect is on, it means that the battery is nearly dead and must be replaced.

Replace the battery following the steps below.

*Since this device consumes a considerable amount of power, we recommend that you use an AC adaptor. If using batteries, please use alkaline batteries.

1.Loosen the thumbscrew at the front of the pedal, then lift the pedal upwards to open the unit.

*The thumbscrew can be left in the pedal while changing the battery.

2.Remove the old battery from the battery housing, and remove the battery snap connected to it.

3.Connect the battery snap to the new battery, and place the battery inside the battery housing.

*Be sure to carefully observe the battery’s polarity (+ versus -).

4.Slip the coil spring onto the spring base on the back of the pedal, then close the pedal.

*Carefully avoid getting the snap cord caught in the coil spring.

5.Finally, insert the thumbscrew into the guide bush hole and fasten it securely.

1. Netzadapterbuchse

Ermöglicht den Anschluss eines Netzadapters (PSA-230, optional).

Wenn Sie einen Netzadapter benutzen, brauchen Sie sich keine Gedanken über die verbleibende Lebensdauer der Batterie zu machen.

*Verwenden Sie ausschließlich den passenden Netzadapter (BOSS PSA-230 oder BOSS PSB-230), und schließen Sie diesen an eine Netzsteckdose an. Verwenden Sie keinen anderen Netzadapter, da hierdurch Fehlfunktionen auftreten können.

*Wenn das Gerät mit angeschlossenem Netzadapter betrieben wird, erfolgt die Stromversorgung über diesen.

*Wir empfehlen Ihnen, auch dann eine Batterie im Gerät installiert zu lassen, wenn Sie es mit dem Netzadapter betreiben. Auf diese Weise können Sie einfach weiterspielen, wenn das Kabel des Netzteils versehentlich vom Gerät getrennt wird.

2. CHECK-Anzeigeleuchte

Anhand dieser Anzeige erkennen Sie, ob der Effekt einoder ausgeschaltet ist, und darüber hinaus dient sie als Kontrolle der Batteriespannung.

Die Anzeige leuchtet, wenn der Effekt eingeschaltet ist.

3. OUTPUT-Buchsen A (MONO)/B

Diese Ausgangsbuchsen können mit einem Verstärker oder einem weiteren Effektgerät verbunden werden.

*Verwenden Sie die Buchse OUTPUT A, wenn Sie ein Monoausgangssignal ausgeben möchten.

*Die Ausgabe unterscheidet sich entsprechend den Einstellungen der Regler [MODE] und [SHIFT]. Details finden Sie unter„Beschreibung der einzelnen Modi“ (S. 6–S. 9).

4. INPUT-Buchse

Diese Buchse nimmt Signale von einer Gitarre, einem anderen Musikinstrument oder einem vorgeschalteten Effektgerät auf.

*Die INPUT-Buchse fungiert außerdem als EIN-/AUS- Schalter. Das Gerät schaltet sich ein, wenn Sie ein Kabel an der INPUT-Buchse anschließen, und es schaltet sich aus, sobald Sie das Kabel herausziehen. Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der INPUT-Buchse, wenn das Effektgerät nicht verwendet wird, um die Batterie zu schonen.

5. EXP-Buchse

Hier können Sie ein Expression-Pedal (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L/FV-500H, separat erhältlich) anschließen. Wenn das Pedal heruntergedrückt wird, ändert sich die Tonhöhe.

Wird das Pedal ganz durchgetreten (Fußspitze), ist die Tonhöhenänderung maximal. Wird das Pedal ganz zurückgenommen (Hacke), wird die Tonhöhe nicht verändert.

*Stellen Sie„Minimum Volume“ auf dem EV-5, FV-500L/ FV-500H auf den Minimalwert (null) ein.

*Wenn nicht der Minimalwert eingestellt wird, funktioniert die Tonhöhenveränderung nicht ordnungsgemäß.

6. Fußtaster

Durch Drücken des Tasters wird der Effekt einoder ausgeschaltet.

7. Schraube

Wenn Sie diese Schraube lösen, lässt sich das Pedal öffnen, und Sie können die Batterie wechseln.

*Bei ausschließlichem Batteriebetrieb wird die Anzeige am Gerät zunehmend dunkler, sobald die Batteriespannung zu sehr absinkt. Ersetzen Sie die Batterien so bald

wie möglich.Weitere Informationen finden Sie unter „Auswechseln der Batterie“ (S. 10).

8. [MODE]-Regler

Wird zum Umschalten zwischen den Modi HARMONY (Major, Minor), PITCH SHIFTER, DETUNE und S-BEND verwendet.

Weitere Informationen zu den Funktionen der einzelnen Regler in den jeweiligen Modi finden Sie unter„Beschreibung der einzelnen Modi“ (S. 6-S. 9).

9. [KEY]-Regler ([FALL TIME]-Regler)

Legt die Tonart fest, in der bei Verwendung des Modus HARMONY (Major, Minor) gespielt wird.

*Wenn die Tonart für das gespielte Stück falsch eingestellt wird, besitzen die erzeugten Zusatztöne möglicherweise nicht die richtige Tonhöhe.

Im S-BEND-Modus dient dieser Regler zur Anpassung der Zeit, die es dauert, bis die Tonhöhe von der eingestellten Tonhöhe bis zur ursprünglichen Tonhöhe zurückgekehrt ist (Abfallzeit).

10. [SHIFT]-Regler

Im Modus HARMONY (Major, Minor)

wird die Tonhöhe für die Zusatztöne festgelegt. Details finden Sie unter„Beschreibung der einzelnen Modi“ (S. 6-S. 9).

In den Modi PITCH SHIFTER/DETUNE/S-BEND

wird der Umfang der Tonhöhenverschiebung festgelegt. Details finden Sie unter„Beschreibung der einzelnen Modi“ (S. 6-S. 9).

11. [BALANCE]-Regler (RISE TIME-Regler)

Ermöglicht die Anpassung der Ausgangsbalance zwischen dem direkten Klang und dem Effektklang. Im S-BEND-Modus dient dieser Regler zur Anpassung der Zeit, die es dauert, bis die eingestellte Tonhöhe erreicht wird (Anstiegszeit).

*Um Fehlfunktionen und/oder Schäden an Lautsprechern oder anderen Geräten zu vermeiden, regeln Sie stets die Lautstärke herunter, und schalten Sie alle Geräte aus, bevor Sie Verbindungen herstellen.

*Einige Anschlusskabel enthalten Widerstände. Die Verwendung von Anschlusskabeln mit Widerständen kann dazu führen, dass der Signalpegel sehr niedrig oder sogar unhörbar ist. Informationen über die

technischen Daten Ihrer Kabel erhalten Sie vom jeweiligen Hersteller.

*Wenn ein Stecker in die Input-Buchse gesteckt wird, wird das Gerät automatisch eingeschaltet.

*Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Lautstärkeregler in Ihrem System auf Minimum gedreht sind, bevor Sie PatchKabel anschließen oder trennen.

*Verwenden Sie nur das angegebene Expression-Pedal (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L/FV-500H, separat erhältlich). Durch den Anschluss eines anderen Expression-Pedals kann es zu Fehlfunktionen und/oder einer Beschädigung des Geräts kommen.

*Nachdem Sie die Verbindungen hergestellt haben, schalten Sie Ihre Geräte in der angegebenen Reihenfolge ein. Wenn Sie die Geräte in der falschen Reihenfolge einschalten, besteht die Gefahr von Fehlfunktionen und/oder Schäden an Lautsprechern und anderen Geräten.

*Dieses Gerät ist mit einer Schutzschaltung ausgestattet. Nach dem Einschalten dauert es einen Moment, bis das Gerät normal arbeitet.

HARMONY

Fügt dem Eingangston ein oder zwei Zusatztöne hinzu, so dass Intervalle oder dreistimmige Harmonien entstehen.

*Verwenden Sie ein Stimmgerät wie das optionale TU-12EX oder TU-3, um Ihr Instrument richtig zu stimmen. Stimmen Sie das Instrument, nachdem Sie die Referenztonhöhe auf 440 Hz eingestellt haben.

PITCH SHIFTER

Die Tonhöhe des Originaltons wird um bis zu zwei Oktaven nach oben oder unten verschoben, auch ein zweiter Zusatzton ist möglich, über den BALANCERegler kann auch der Originalton zugemischt werden.

*Dieser Effekt kann sowohl für einzelne Noten als auch für Akkorde verwendet werden.

*In diesem Modus besitzt der [KEY]-Regler keine Funktion.

DETUNE

Fügt einen Zusatzton hinzu, der gegenüber dem Eingangston nur leicht verschoben ist - ein„Chorus“- artiger Effekt entsteht.

*Dieser Effekt kann sowohl für einzelne Noten als auch für Akkorde verwendet werden.

*In diesem Modus besitzt der [KEY]-Regler keine Funktion.

Ermöglicht einen schnellen Tonhöhenwechsel, ähnlich dem Vibrato-Arm einer Gitarre, aber extremer.

Der S-BEND-Effekt wird durch Drücken des Fußtasters ausgelöst.

Über OUTPUT A und OUTPUT B werden die gleichen Effekttöne ausgegeben.

Auswechseln der Batterie

Wenn die CHECK-Anzeigeleuchte bei eingeschaltetem Effekt schwächer wird oder gar kein Licht mehr zu sehen ist, ist die Batterie fast leer und muss ersetzt werden. Gehen Sie hierfür wie folgt vor.

*Da dieses Gerät einen relativ hohen Stromverbrauch besitzt, empfehlen wir die Verwendung einen Netzadapters. Wenn Sie Batterien verwenden, wird die Verwendung von Alkalibatterien empfohlen.

1.Lösen Sie die Schraube an der Vorderseite des Pedals, heben Sie den Pedaldeckel an, und öffnen Sie das Gerät.

*Die Schraube kann während des Batteriewechsels im Pedal verbleiben.

2.Entnehmen Sie die alte Batterie aus dem Batteriegehäuse, und lösen Sie das daran befestigte Batteriekabel.

3.Befestigen Sie das Batteriekabel an der neuen Batterie, und legen Sie die Batterie in das Batteriegehäuse ein.

* Achten Sie auf die Polarität der Batterie (+ bzw. -).

4.Schieben Sie die Spiralfeder auf die Federbasis auf der Rückseite des Pedaldeckels, und schließen Sie das Pedal.

*Achten Sie darauf, dass sich das Batteriekabel nicht in der Spiralfeder verklemmt.

5.Führen Sie die Schraube schließlich in das Führungsloch ein, und drehen Sie sie fest.

1. Prise pour adaptateur secteur

Branchement de l’adaptateur secteur (Série PSA : en option).

Avec l’adaptateur secteur, vous pouvez continuer à jouer sans vous soucier de la durée de vie de la pile.

*Utilisez uniquement l’adaptateur secteur fourni (Série PSA) et branchez-le sur une prise murale fournissant une tension appropriée. N’utilisez pas d’autre adaptateur, cela risquerait de provoquer des dysfonctionnements.

*Si l’adaptateur secteur est branché lorsque l’appareil est allumé, l’adaptateur assure l’alimentation.

*Nous vous recommandons de conserver les piles dans l’appareil même lorsque vous le faites fonctionner avec l’adaptateur secteur. Ainsi, vous pourrez continuer

à jouer même si le cordon de l’adaptateur secteur se débranche accidentellement de l’appareil.

2. Témoin CHECK

Ce témoin indique si l’effet est activé ou non et sert également de témoin d’usure de la pile.

Il s’allume lorsque l’effet est activé.

*Si l’appareil est alimenté par la pile et que le témoin CHECK baisse d’intensité, ou ne s’allume pas, lorsque vous activez l’effet, la pile est presque déchargée et doit être remplacée. Pour des instructions sur le remplacement de la pile, voir « Remplacement de la pile » (p. 10).
