Never move a pan of hot oil, especially a deep fat frier. Wait until it is cool.
Never leave a cooktop unattended when inuse. Boil overs cause smoking and greasy spillovers may ignite.
WARNING: Supervise the cooktop even ifthe time program function is on, in order to ensure that food does not boil over or burn. Food spills may smoke and some
may catch fire, such as oil at high temperatures.
Do not heat or warm unopened food containers. Build-up of pressure may cause the container to burst and cause injury.
Always keep pot bases dry. The accumulation of pressure between the base and the cooktop may cause the pan to jump unexpectedly, causing injury.
Never use the appliance if liquids or foods have spilled around the control panel. Always turn off the cooktop and dry the control panel.
Only use high heat if necessary. To prevent boil overs and spattering, heat oil slowly on low or medium-low heat. Hot oil may cause serious burns and injury.
Injury and damage to the appliance may occur if commands are not used properly.
Cookware safety

Elements that may
damage the appliance
Pan bottoms
Hot pans
Salt, sugar and sand
Hard or pointed objects
Food spillage
Unsuitable cleaning products
Plastic and paper
Energy-saving advice
Rough pan bottoms may scratch the cooktop.
Avoid leaving empty pans on the cooking areas. This may result in damage to the appliance. If special cookware is used, please follow the manufacturer's
instructions.
Never place any hot pans or other cookware on the control panel, the display area or the cooktop frame.
Salt, sugar and sand particles may scratch the cooktop.
Hard or pointed objects may damage the cooktop if they are dropped on it.
Do not use the cooktop as a work or support surface.
Sugar and other similar products may damage the cooktop. Remove such products immediately using a scraper for glass surfaces.
The use of unsuitable cleaning products and the wear caused by contact with cookware will result in fading of the metal parts.
Aluminum foil and plastic containers will melt if placed on element while it is hot.
Use pans equipped with a solid, flat bottom. Curved pan bottoms increase energy consumption. Place a ruler against the bottom of the pan. Ifthere are no
gaps, this means the bottom is completely flat.
The diameter of the pan you are using should be the same as the diameter of the element. Please note: If the cookware manufacturer provides the diameter for the top of the pan, bear in mind that this is in most cases greater than the diameter of its bottom. This is generally greater than the diameter of the base of the pan. If the diameter of the pan is not the same as the diameter of the element, it is preferable to use a pan with a bottom that is larger in diameter than the element, otherwise half the energy will be wasted.
Choose pans of a size suited to the amount of food you are going to cook. A large pan that is only half full will use a great amount of energy.
Ensure that pans are always placed in the center of the element and always cover them with a lid. Cooking with an uncovered pan will result in a four-fold increase in energy use.
Use a small amount of water when cooking. This will save energy and preserve the vitamins and minerals of cooked vegetables.
When cooking stews or liquid food such as soups, sauces or drinks, these may reach a high temperature within a very short time and without warning, with the risk of spillage. Therefore, it is advisable to heat food slowly, adjusting the heat setting to an adequate level and stirring the food before and during the heating
process.
10
Cooking by induction
Advantages of induction cooking
Proper cookware
Induction cooking constitutes a radical change in the traditional form of heating, given that the heat is generated directly in the pan. Therefore, it has a number of advantages:
÷ Greater speed in cooking and frying; as the pan is heated directly.
÷ Uses less energy
÷ Greater convenience and cleanliness; food spilled on the cooktop surface
will not burn.
÷ Cooking control and safety; The cooktop heats up or cools down
immediately after the controls are set. The induction cooktop also stops supplying heat if the pan is removed without first turning off the power.
Ferromagnetic pans
Special induction cooking cookware
Check the pans with a magnet
Improper cookware
Only ferromagnetic pans are suitable for induction cooking. These can be of
enameled steel
cast iron
special stainless steel utensils for induction cooking.
There is another type of special cookware for induction cooking with a base that is not entirely ferromagnetic. Check the diameter. It could affect both the detection of
the cookware as well as the results of the cooking.
Check that the bases of your pans are attracted by a magnet to find out if they are suitable. The manufacturer normally indicates if pans are suitable for induction
cooking.
Never use pans made of:
thin normal steel
glass
clay
copper
aluminum
Characteristics of the pan base
No pan or improper size
The characteristics of the pan base can influence the evenness of the cooking. Pans made out of materials that diffuse heat, such as pans with a "sandwich" of
stainless steel, spread heat uniformly, saving time and energy.
If no pan is placed on the selected element, or it is not of a suitable size, the
cooking element shown on the element indicator will flash. It will stop flashing once a suitable pan is placed on the element. If you take longer than 90 seconds to place
a suitable pan on the element, it will automatically turn off.
11
Empty pans or pans with a thin base
Do not heat up empty pans, or use pans with a thin base. The cooktop has an internal safety system, but an empty pan could heat up so quickly the "automatic
deactivation" function does not have time to react and the pan could reach a very high temperature. The pan base could melt and damage the cooktop glass. In the
event this occurs, do not touch the pan and turn off the element. If it does not function after cooling off, contact technical service.
Cookware detection
Double or triple cooking element
Each element has a minimum limit for detecting cookware, which varies based on the material of the pan you are using. Therefore, you should use the element that
best matches the diameter of your pan.
These elements can recognize different sized pans. Depending on the material and the properties of the pan, the element will automatically adapt, and will activate only
single zone or the entire zone and supply the proper power to provide good cooking results.

Troubleshooting
Sometimes problems are unimportant technical problems that can be easily resolved. Before contacting Technical Assistance, please keep in mind the advice and warnings below:
The cooktop is not working
The indicator light on the element is flashing E
The cooktop turns off by itself
The display flashes (there is no power) when you place a saucepan on an induction cooking element
The SpeedBoost function display flashes and then switches off
Repairs
/k
See if there is a power outage. Check to see ifthere is a problem with the circuit breaker for the electrical installation.
The control panel is very dirty, food has spilled or there is something on top of the cooktop. Clean the control panel or remove the object from the cooktop. Lightly
press the affected control panel. The flashing should stop.
The power key was touched unintentionally. Press the power key again. Reset the cooktop.
Check to see whether the saucepan is electromagnetic. Check to see whether the diameter of the saucepan is large enough. Allow the saucepan to cool down in the
event that it has become too hot when used.
If the display still does not light up when you switch the cooking element off and on again, disconnect the appliance at the circuit breaker. Wait 20 seconds and then
reconnect it.
The SpeedBoost function operates the cooking element with the most possible power. During long cooking times, it is possible that the function will switch the
cooking element off to protect the cooktop from overheating. You can continue to use the cooktop if the display is not flashing.
WARNING: Repairs should only be done by a trained service technician.
If your appliance is repaired improperly, you could be at considerable risk.

Note:
A gap may form between the countertop and the cooktop. For this reason, there is a flexible seal all around the cooktop. Due to the characteristics of the material, there
can be irregularities inthe glass ceramic surface. Because of the mirror-smooth surface of the cooktop, it is possible for even the smallest of bubbles, less than 1
mm in diameter, to be visible. They are not detrimental either to the functionality or the durability of the glass ceramic cooking surface.

Normal operating sounds for the
appliance
Induction heating technology is based on the creation of electromagnetic fields that cause heat to be created directly on the pan base. Depending on the construction of the cookware, certain noises or vibrations may be created, such as the following:
A low humming like a transformer
A low whistling
Crackling
High pitched whistle
Fan noise
This occurs when cooking at a high power. The cause of this is the amount of energy which is transmitted from the appliance to the cookware. This sound
disappears or becomes quieter when the power is turned down.
This occurs when the cookware is empty. This sound disappears when water or food is added to the cookware.
This noise occurs when cookware is used which consists of layers of different materials. The noise is caused by vibrations in the joint faces between the different
layers. This noise comes from the cookware. It may change depending on the amount and type of food being cooked.
This noise occurs principally incookware which consists of layers of different materials when used at the highest heat setting and on two elements next to each
other. This whistling disappears or becomes quieter when the power isturned down.
The electronics require a controlled temperature in order to function reliably. The cooktop is therefore fitted with a fan which runs at various speeds according to the
temperature detected. The fan may also continue to run even after the cooktop has been switched off if the temperature it detects is still too high.
The sounds described are a normal part of induction technology and do not indicate a defect.
