The G‑SSPKCLPW Low‑profile Ceiling‑mount Speaker
Strobe is designed to meet code requirements for
audio, visual, and voice communications. This
speaker‑strobe offers dependable evacuation signaling
and visual alarms, or a combination of both. It
provides a 25 VRMS or 70.7 VRMS speaker with
field‑selectable power taps of 1/8 W, 1/4 W, 1/2 W, 1
W, 2 W, or 4 W.
The multi-candela strobe can be set for 15 cd, 30 cd,
75 cd, 95 cd, or 115 cd and maintains a constant flash
rate of 1 Hz regardless of input voltage. The strobe can
be synchronized by using the AVSM Synchronization
Module, or by Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) or
power supplies that include the Gentex sync protocol.

Installation/configuration notes

Mounting Considerations

The G‑SSPKCLP Speaker Strobes are for indoor
installation only. Mount them on interior ceilings or
other hard surfaces where they are protected from
weather elements such as rain or snow. The units
flush‑mount on a standard 4‑inch square by 2.125‑inch
deep back box.

Wiring Considerations

Notice

Do not use these strobe units in coded or pulsed
signaling circuits.

Wire Diameter:
The input terminals accept solid wires with diameters
between 18 AWG and 12 AWG (ISO 0.75 mm2 and
4 mm2) or stranded wires with diameters between
18 AWG (1.2 mm) and 12 AWG (2.3 mm).

Notice

Do not use looped wire under terminals. Break the
wire run to provide supervision of connection.

Synchronization

The strobes can be synchronized by using the Gentex
AVSM Control Module, FACP’s or power supplies that
include the Gentex Synchronization Protocol.
